Golden Kamuy is surrounded by a number of unique characters. There are many eccentrics and oddballs, but in the search for gold, there are inevitable battles. In addition to the escaped prisoners who are the target of the search, there are many strong people who can call themselves the strongest, from villains to ex-soldiers. This time, we will present a ranking of the strength of these characters!

Strength Ranking #10: Wakayama Kiichiro

Drink, gamble, buy! Mr. Yakuza! Wakayama Kiichiro. He chases after Kiroranke, who caused the failure of the rigged horse racing, but is attacked by a brown bear by chance. A beautifully slutty yakuza and a genuine homosexual. He has a prisoner's tattoo on the lower half of his body. He calls his lover and subordinate Nakazawa Tatsuya "princess" and confronts the brown bear with a Maxim machine gun. In the end, to save Nakazawa, he thrusts a knife into the bear's anus, killing it, but he himself is seriously injured. In the end, he dies holding Nakazawa's hand.

Strength Ranking 9th: Tanigaki Genjiro

Tanigaki Genjiro is a former matagi hunter and former member of the 7th Division. He and Nihei Tetsuzou join Sugimoto and his friends in hunting them down, but are defeated miserably. He falls into a deer trap and is pierced by a poisoned arrow, and is reformed after staying in Asirpa's village to nurse her back to health. He begins to work with Sugimoto. During his time with the 7th Division, he participated in the Siege of Port Arthur and is one of the survivors of the 7th Division, which was reduced to less than half. For now, Tanigaki is following the classic Piccolo pattern.

Strength Ranking 8th: Lieutenant Koito

Lieutenant Koito loves Lieutenant Tsurumi. Lieutenant Tsurumi has taken an interest in him because he is strong. He is a member of the 27th Infantry Regiment of the 7th Division, and his swordsmanship is remarkable. Originally from Satsuma, he often speaks in Satsuma dialect when he gets flustered. He is also the man who injured Sugimoto in the past. He is agile and overflowing with talent as an acrobat.

7th place in the strength ranking: Kiroranke

Kiroranke is also strong

Kiroranke is a mysterious man. During the Russo-Japanese War, he participated in the war as a factory worker. He was originally acquainted with Asirpa's father and came to Hokkaido from Russia. As a factory worker, he helps Sugimoto in various situations, but it seems that Sugimoto does not fully trust him. He is actually a partisan who escaped from Russia. His past will be told in detail in the future. By the way, Kiroranke is married and has children.

Strength Ranking 6th: Tatsuma Ushiyama

A judoka and a prisoner with tattoos. With his strong body and sexual desire, Ushiyama Tatsuma is the best when it comes to martial arts. In fact, when he grapples with Sugimoto, he says that it feels like he has roots in the ground. Asirpa calls him "Dick Sensei." The undefeated Ushiyama, also known as Chinpo Sensei, who will rescue a woman even if her house collapses, apparently goes crazy if he doesn't hold a woman every once in a while.

Strength Ranking 5th Place: Shinpachi Nagakura

Nagakura is unrivaled

Shinpachi Nagakura, a former member of the Shinsengumi, retired in Hokkaido. He accepts the invitation of his former comrade, Toshizo Hijikata, and joins him. Like Toshizo Hijikata, he is a real person, but according to historical fact, he has many amazing anecdotes. In his later years, when Nagakura was approached by a yakuza, he apparently yelled at them with his walking stick. When the Sino-Japanese War broke out, at the age of 55, he volunteered to join the Battotai, but was turned down. And yet he remains unrivaled in this film. As a man who thrives on the sword, he generally does not use guns. We look forward to seeing more of his exploits in the future.

Strength Ranking 4th Place: Ogata Hyakunosuke

Ogata is a lone sniper. He was a former corporal in the 7th Division, but he was plotting a rebellion against Lieutenant Tsurumi. He can apparently snipe with a Type 30 rifle from 2000m away. After being beaten in close combat by Sugimoto and having his jaw broken, he gave up shaving his head and changed it to a slicked-back style. But there is a deeper reason why he killed his father and mother.

Strength Ranking 3rd Place: Lieutenant Tsurumi

Lieutenant Tsurumi leads the 7th Division in a search for gold. Although he sometimes has strange thoughts coming out of his head, his dream is to rule Hokkaido using gold nuggets. He is depicted as respecting the lives of his comrades who died in the war, but he is also depicted as an eccentric who takes lives one by one. Of the forces currently searching for gold, he has the most military power and is able to deploy weapons smoothly. Incidentally, the background of the photo is poppy flowers (the raw material for opium). This shows how outsider he is.

Strength Ranking 2nd Place: Hijikata Toshizou

He's an old man, but he's strong

In actual history, Hijikata Toshizou was supposed to have died in the Battle of Goryokaku. He was set alive, and was also the one who helped the prisoners escape. He also wants to build a country with gold bars. Even though he's an old man, he's incredibly unrivaled. It seems that he has not yet been injured in any battles in the story. He is a former vice-commander of the Shinsengumi and an ambitious man. Despite that, Hijikata's favorite food is ochazuke with finely chopped pickled radish. It's heartwarming to see that he's just like an old man.

Strength Ranking #1: Sugimoto Saichi

Immortal Sugimoto

The protagonist of this work needs money for the woman he loves. Immortal Sugimoto. This manga is by no means the strongest protagonist! But still, Sugimoto is number one. Above all, he is masochistic, and well, he never dies (which may be natural since he is the protagonist). He is a passionate man who continues to fight today for the woman he loves, Umeko, and for Asirpa, who acts alongside him.

Strength Ranking Summary

I expect many eccentrics and strong people to appear in the future, and I personally look forward to the eccentrics! What Asirpa's father entrusted to her, the secret of the gold, and a new battle. I can't take my eyes off it. Thank you for reading!
