The original is a survival manga by Satoru Noda. It has been serialized in "Weekly Young Jump" (Shueisha) since issue 38 in 2014. The story is set in Hokkaido and Sakhalin at the end of the Meiji era, and various intentions intersect over the gold nugget that is said to have been hidden by the prisoner "Nopperabo". The first season of the TV anime aired from April to June 2018, the second season from October to December 2018, and the third season is scheduled to start airing in October 2020. Sugao is more famous for dubbing foreign films than for being an anime voice actor. He has done various dubbings for Tommy Lee Jones, Jean Reno, Al Pacino, and others. He only did the dubbing for Tommy Lee Jones in the film version, but after Taniguchi Setsuko, who voiced Jones in the canned coffee BOSS, passed away, he also started doing that.

Her real name is Terasoma Masanori, but she writes it in hiragana because "soma" is difficult to read. She uses her real name for work other than voice acting.
