"World's End Harem" is a science fiction series currently being serialized in Shonen Jump+. Set in a technologically advanced near future, the protagonist contracts a fatal disease and goes into cold sleep for five years until a cure is found. When he wakes up, he finds that over 99% of men have been wiped out by an unknown virus, and is pressured to have children with many beautiful women - a heavenly situation for any man. The series attracted attention for its some of the most outrageous sexual depictions in Jump magazine history, and its anime adaptation was once postponed, but it has now been scheduled to begin airing in January 2022! Today, we'd like to introduce the five male characters who are the selling point of "World's End Harem"!
Male Character #1: Mizuhara Reito
The protagonist of this work. He is called Number 2 because he is the second person to awaken. He is the only one in the harem who refuses to have children with the numerous beautiful women, and he is the ultimate protagonist, uncovering the secrets hidden in the story's setting. He is devoted and very strong-willed, and after awakening, he is asked to have a child with his lover, Tachibana Erika, in order to save the world, but he refuses, out of faithfulness to her. However, because he understands the current situation, he accepts the condition that it is limited to a certain period of time, and from then on, despite being approached by beautiful women countless times, he somehow manages to maintain his chastity.
About Mizuhara Reito in 2040
Originally a university student at the National Advanced Medical University, Mizuhara was a brilliant and knowledgeable medical student, earning the nickname "National Advanced Medical University's Prodigy." The story begins with him confessing his feelings to his childhood friend, Tachibana Erika, and informing her that he has developed cellular sclerosis and must enter cold sleep. Although the two have a seemingly quarrelsome breakup, just before he falls asleep, Erika tells him that she will always be waiting for him.
The exploits of Mizuhara Reito after waking up in 2045
Immediately after waking up, his personal officer, Suou Miku, who bears a striking resemblance to Erika, informs him of his current situation and requests that he work hard to conceive. However, due to his feelings for Erika, he is given a grace period. He then begins developing a vaccine, but in the process, he discovers that the MK virus is artificial, created by someone and intentionally released. He also learns that Erika is at odds with the organization behind the virus's worldwide release. After leaving Japan and reuniting with Erika, he obtains the virus crystals necessary for vaccine development. He risks his life in the Principality of Rosania to develop the vaccine, but is devastated when Kyoji Hino is killed in a conflict with the mastermind.
Male Character #2: Kyoji Hino
After the MK virus spread worldwide, Number 1 was the first to awaken, one of the few men with resistance. He represents the outgoing male group. He has a bright and friendly personality and is proactive when it comes to mating. He enjoys his situation and impregnates many women. Later, it is discovered that the child of the first woman he impregnates is a boy with resistance to the virus.
Kyoji Hino in 2040
In 2040, he is a part-time worker who enjoys playing in a band and spends his days working part-time jobs. He has feelings for a senior colleague at his workplace and admires an actress, but he is a completely ordinary man with no particular romantic relationship.
Kyoji Hino's Awakening in 2045
After waking up and understanding his situation, he devotes himself to mating, enjoying the situation and impregnating many women. He falls in love at first sight with Reito's sister and nominates her as a mating partner, but she rejects him. However, he still maintains a friendly relationship with Reito and the others, treating her as a man in the same situation. He was loved by many women, including his personal officer, Isurugi Neneko, and fulfilled his role. However, when the first woman he became pregnant with was carrying a boy resistant to the MK virus, he realized she was being targeted by UW and ran away. However, he was followed by Chloe from UW and shot dead. However, when a video of Kyoji being shot was leaked worldwide, people realized that UW was the mastermind behind the virus's release.
Male Character #3: Doi Shota
He is the third high school student to awaken after Reito. He is short, wears glasses, and has white hair, making him the epitome of the introverted type. In 2040, Shota Doi was brutally bullied, harboring pent-up anger. His aggressive nature began to surface as he spent his time at school, under the guidance of his personal supervisor, Karen Kamiya. However, he also possessed an intellectual side, realizing that his personality had changed and that Karen was working behind the scenes for her own purposes. He eventually teamed up with Karen to outwit UW and rise to the top.
Shota Doi in 2040
He was brutally bullied by a group of bullies, including Takamatsu and Erika, and lived a depressing life. He developed feelings for his teacher, Yuuki Hanyu, who was almost the only one who was kind to Shota and genuinely cared about him. Even after Shota went into cold sleep, Yuuki and Shota's sister were the only ones who cared about him.
The Adventures of Shota Doi, Who Awakened in the Year 2045
Feeling depressed, Shota wakes up to an extraordinary world where most men have died out. Before he even knew it, he finds himself living a harem-like school life, surrounded by girls. After reuniting with Yuzuki and experiencing his first sexual experience, his personal supervisor, Karen Kamiya, trains him to transform his servile personality into one filled with confidence, drawing out his inner aggressiveness. He then teams up with the shadowy Karen and begins a rebellion against UW.
Male Character #4: Zen Kinebuchi
Number 4 was the fourth to awaken. However, upon awakening, he finds himself held captive by a terrorist organization hostile to UW, known as Izanami, and treated as a sex slave. His personality is that of a corporate slave, enduring his superiors' power harassment while still doing his job. The epitome of corporate slavery.

Despite being scolded by his superior, Kinebuchi Kina, he continues to work daily as a sales representative for a pharmaceutical company. At the same time that he develops cellular sclerosis, she discovers that she is pregnant. He has a wedding ceremony before entering cryogenic sleep, and then enters cryogenic sleep.
The exploits of Zen Kinebuchi, who awakens in 2045
He is captured by a terrorist organization opposed to UW, particularly by a faction known as the Izanami faction. When he wakes up, he finds himself in a village led by his former boss, Izume Kina, where he is deprived of his freedom and is forced to continue living a life of semen extraction, unable to even provide for his own food. Treated like a slave, he attains enlightenment during a ritual in which he endures the torture, transforming into "Izanagi" and engaging in a massive orgy with every woman he encounters. At the end of Part 1, he appears before Rei and his friends, who have been cornered by UW. Compared to the three characters who awakened earlier, he doesn't have many opportunities to play an active role, but he will likely have more opportunities to play an active role in Part 2.
Male Character #5: Kanamura Riku
Mizuhara Reito spreads the vaccine worldwide, but the vaccine is engineered by UW to eliminate male sexual function and sexual desire. After almost all men lose these functions, Kanamura is the only boy who retains sexual desire and an interest in women. He has medieval-looking features and is a shota character. He is also mentioned to have suffered from cellular sclerosis. As of 2049, he is known as one of only three Lividers in the world.

In a situation where men have lost interest in women due to the NOSEX vaccine injected by UW, Kanemura is confused by his own sexual awakening and begins living an exciting life together with his personal officers, Nobara Mizoshita, Botan Amemiya, Himawari Hoyo, Yuria Hanazono, and Ran Kuramochi.

We've introduced the male characters appearing in World's End Harem. While the title claims to feature only five men, the fifth doesn't appear in the first part and only makes his first appearance in the second. The anime will likely only cover the first part.
