"World's End Harem" has been serialized in Shonen Jump+ since 2016, with the first part concluding in 2020. Part two has been ongoing since 2021. Set in a near future where science and technology are more advanced than today, where an unknown virus has wiped out most men, the work attracted attention for its sexual depictions that far surpass the erotic content of Jump magazines to date, and after being postponed once before, it was adapted into an anime in January 2022. In this article, we'd like to introduce the female characters that appear in "World's End Harem"!
Female Character #1: Tachibana Erika
A childhood friend of protagonist Mizuhara Reito, she attended the same National Advanced Medical University in 2040 as Reito. Reito confessed his love to her, but also told her that he had contracted an incurable disease requiring cold sleep. As Reito fell asleep, she assured him that she would wait for him, but when he woke up, she had disappeared. While continuing her research on the MK virus, she discovered a certain truth.
Female Character #2: Miku Suo
One of the main heroines of this work, Miku Suo is Reito's personal caretaker after he wakes up. While somewhat similar in appearance to Erika Tachibana, she has a cool personality and is the type who calmly gets the job done. While technically the main heroine, she is dismissed from her role as caretaker midway through the story, resulting in her appearances being significantly reduced. She is actually a clone of Erika, created as a backup for her, and her name comes from Erika's "mirror."
Female Character #3: Mizuhara Mahiru
Reito's younger sister, a girl with pigtails and bucktooth. She is very attached to Reito, fondly calling him "Rei-nii." When Reito went into cold sleep, she was 11 years old, and her personality and physique were appropriate for her age. However, by the time he woke up, she had grown both physically and mentally. However, her cheerful personality and slight sibling complex haven't changed much.
Female Character #4: Akane Ryuzoji
A nurse dispatched to help maintain Reito's health and be his bedmate. She's large and busty, with purplish red hair and a ponytail. When she first meets Reito, she bursts into the shower room completely naked. Onihara, Japan's UW Secretary of State, is his mother, but she dislikes him because she never even attended the funeral of her beloved younger brother.
Female Character #5: Yamada Midori
A petite girl with small breasts who serves as Reito's bedmate and bodyguard. She has braided green hair and is very attached to Reito. At first, Reito thinks she's a health care nurse, but in fact, she possesses such high combat abilities that she can defeat a bear several times her size with a single punch.
Female Character #6: Isurugi Neneko
Number 1, Kyoji Hino's personal officer, is a woman with a distinctive red short ponytail. Kyoji was originally very proactive about mating, and she is highly praised for impregnating 28 women since his awakening. However, she also has a favorable view of Kyoji, not just professionally, but personally, and likes him as a member of the opposite sex.
Female Character #7: Reina Kitayama
A pink-haired woman who mated with Kyoji before he met Reito. She was well-known as an actress even before Kyoji went into cold sleep, even starring in a film. She was a godsend to Kyoji, and embodied a situation that every man has fantasized about at least once. Originally, this character was not to appear again, but her popularity exceeded expectations, leading to her reappearance.
Female Character #8: Onihara
Secretary of State for the UW Japan branch and the de facto ruler of Japan. She is Akane Ryuzoji's mother, but Akane does not have a good impression of her. She is effectively at odds with UW headquarters.
Female Character #9: Karen Kamiya
She is the personal officer for Shota Doi, aka Number 3. Behind her overly cheerful and carefree personality lies an aggressive spirit laced with contempt and ridicule, and she plots schemes behind the scenes. While her skills are highly regarded, she also possesses a ruthless nature, willing to use any means to achieve her goals.
Female Character No. 10: Yuuki Hanyu
She was Shota Doi's homeroom teacher before he went into cold sleep. She has long black hair, large breasts, and glasses. Shota confessed to her that he was being bullied, and she became very concerned about him. However, Shota went into cold sleep shortly after. She was also Shota's first love, and his first mating partner after waking up from cold sleep. However, she disappeared from Shota's sight after that.
Female Character #11: Haruka Hiiragi
One of Shota Doi's classmates, who woke up from cold sleep. A girl with pigtails and a bun hairstyle, she quickly became friends with Shota, sharing topics like his favorite idols and anime theme songs. However, just like Shota, she was bullied in the past.
Female Character #12: Ichijo Natsu
One of Doi Shota's classmates who woke up from cold sleep. A blonde girl with a headband, she is actually the daughter of a distinguished family. She is unable to change her clothes by herself and cannot sleep without something nearby. She was originally supposed to be married to a woman 20 years her senior, but the virus outbreak has canceled that plan.
Female Character #13: Akira Todo
One of Shota Doi's classmates, who awakens from cold sleep. She's a tall, busty girl with black hair in a ponytail, and is the ace of the volleyball club. While her appearance can make her seem cool and somewhat unapproachable, she's actually shy and has a hard time expressing her emotions; in reality, she's kind and devoted. She's extremely popular with readers.
Female Character No. 14: Kuroda, Rain, Chifuyu
One of Shota Doi's classmates, who woke up from cold sleep. She's petite with red hair...or rather, she has the build of a child, and the mental age of a child. She skipped grades and is a genius with top grades in all subjects, so her actual age is unknown. She has a cheeky and self-esteemed personality, but she's not good at sports. She sometimes plays pranks on Akira Todo, whom she views as a rival. She's the younger sister of Maria Kuroda, the officer in charge who came to work for Reito Mizuhara in place of Miku Suou.
Female Character #15: Kuroda Maria
She is one of the personal officers who replaced Suou Miku, who was dismissed from her position as Mizuhara Reito's personal officer. She has messy red hair and is careless about her own clothing. She is a researcher of the MK virus and was sent to support Reito's virus research, but she is shy and doesn't like men. However, she is a typical socially awkward girl who becomes talkative as soon as she finds a topic she likes. Kuroda, Rain, and Chifuyu, Shota Doi's classmates, are her younger sisters.
Female Character No. 16: Ria Katagiri
She is one of the personal officers who replaced Suou Miku, who was dismissed from her position as Mizuhara Reito's personal officer. Although she has a serious personality, she doesn't have particularly good feelings toward Reito. Originally a civil servant in charge of interactions with citizens, she is now in charge of coordinating Reito's relationship with the outside world after he comes out about his identity. She is actually a lesbian and has feelings for Suou Miku.
Female Character #17: Yanagi Ritsuka
One of Shota Doi's classmates who woke up from cold sleep, Yanagi Ritsuka is a gal with tanned skin and flashy clothing. After Natsu, she wins the right to live with Shota for a week, but her overly aggressive approach initially leads to Shota's rejection.
Female Character #18: Taniguchi
She is the wife of the elderly man who was the first person in Japan to be infected with the MK virus. She is currently hospitalized at Central Hospital. After the government dissected her husband and used him as research material without her permission, she has a strong hatred for the government and refuses to cooperate. In fact, she has been secretly in contact with Erika Tachibana. Upon learning that Reito is deeply in love with Erika, she attempts to share information about her late husband and the virus's transmission route. However, before she can do so, someone poisons her IV drip, leaving her in a coma.
Female Character #19: Chloe Mansfield
A long-blonde exchange student from America whom Reito meets at an open-air bath. Her true identity is the Director of UW's Peacekeeping Operations Office and one of the masterminds behind the story. Beneath her cheerful, carefree, and friendly exterior, she harbors intense contempt for Japanese people and men. She is a member of the organization that spread the MK virus and drove men to the brink of extinction. It was her subordinate who put Taniguchi into a coma.
Female Character #20: Riko Kirihara
A school nurse with short perms who works at Shota Doi's school. While fulfilling her duties as a school nurse, she also uses the nurse's office as a private mating room for Shota.
Female Character #21: Shion Hoshino
She was a classmate of Shota Doi before he went into cold sleep, and also worked as a talent. She witnessed Shota being bullied, but paid him no attention. In 2045, the demand for talent plummeted, so she transferred to Shota's class and sought his help in order to gain support. However, Shota rejected her overly convenient argument, and afterward, despite the humiliation, she somehow managed to get the opportunity.
Female Character #21: Erika
A girl with blonde hair and a distinctive ponytail, she was one of the group of people bullying Shota in 2040. By 2045, she had become addicted to drugs in a refugee camp, but was brought to Shota at his request, wearing a collar. At first, she was rebellious, but due to drug withdrawal symptoms and Shota's protection, she began to open up to Shota in both body and mind.
Female Character No. 23: Miki Kinebuchi
Wife of Zen Kinebuchi, also known as Number 4. Since she discovered she was pregnant shortly after Zen developed cellular sclerosis, they held a wedding ceremony before he went into cold sleep. She later visited Zen before the MK virus spread, and was also acquainted with Erika Tachibana, who was in the same situation. However, her whereabouts as of 2045 are unknown.
Female Character No. 22: Izume Hina
Among the members of Izanami, a terrorist organization opposed to UW, she has built her own community and is a central figure in a faction that seeks to create a primitive society using men. She trains Kinebuchi Zen as a masochist, intending to turn him into a "sex slave." She was once Kinebuchi Zen's superior, and although she was quite harsh towards Zen, she told him that she had a good opinion of him before he went into cold sleep.
Female Character No. 22: Bingbing (Bingbing)
A woman in a Chinese dress who intervenes when Reito encounters a mysterious armed group in Hong Kong, leads him to a hideout, and saves him. She introduces him to Reito's grandmother, Lu, who wields great influence throughout China. She then accompanies Reito to the Kingdom of Rosania as his guardian.
Female Character No. 27: Lu
Bingbing's grandmother, Lu wields great influence throughout China. She approaches Rei and the others in the guise of a fortune teller, predicting the men's fates as if she had seen them firsthand. She tells Rei about the Three Wise Men, the masterminds behind everything, and entrusts him with the MK Virus crystals.
Female Character No. 27: Anastasia
The princess of the Principality of Rosania, home to the world's most advanced scientific technology and facilities. Though she's known for being eccentric, she's actually a rather detached girl, and immediately proposes marriage to Reito. Rosania relies heavily on imports for most of its resources, and since her family went into cryogenic sleep, she's shouldered a heavy burden.
Female Character No. 22: Ragini Singh
An Indian-born virus researcher on secondment to the Kingdom of Rosania. Despondent over her lack of success, she retreated to the mountains. When Reiji and his friends visited her, she was performing her daily routine of walking across the fire completely naked. When Reiji says he's going to create a vaccine, she explains how to make it and warns him that he might die in the process.
Female Character #27: Yukari
The first woman to become pregnant with Kyoji Hino's child. Her full name is Kusakabe Yukari. Her child was a boy, and he had antibodies to the virus, suggesting he will be a key character in future developments.

Here is a list of the female characters appearing in "World's End Harem." Featuring a diverse range of female characters with diverse personalities and a wide range of sexual preferences, the story is truly a paradise-like one that every man dreams of. However, it turns out that the setting is a hellish one. Due to adult circumstances, the anime adaptation of this work was postponed once, and will now begin airing in January 2022. It will be exciting to see how much of it will be allowed to air, but there's also the possibility that it may not even be able to finish airing in the first place, so it's a work that raises many expectations.
