Shin was raised by the sage Merlin. When he turned 15, those around him noticed that Merlin had never taught him common sense. Shin had already attained extraordinary strength, so he decided to enroll in a high school of magic to learn common sense and make friends with people his own age. To that end, Shin came to the Kingdom of Earlshide with the wise man Merlin and his mentor Merida.

Shin arrives in the Kingdom of Earlshide. While wandering the town, he comes across an adventurer harassing two girls, and takes the typical action of helping them. That's when he first meets Sicily and Maria. They only revealed to each other that they were taking the entrance exam for a magic school, and never talked about their family backgrounds.

When Shin saw Sicily, lightning struck him. She was so cute that he seemed to freeze for a moment. It was very easy to understand, and I instantly knew that this was a work in which Sicily was the heroine. But what about Sicily? In fact, it seemed like Sicily had fallen in love at first sight, too, but she didn't seem to know if she liked the feeling or not. Due to Kurt's transformation into a demon, Sicily is clearly drawn to Shin. Amidst the cart commotion, Shin ends up enchanting Sicily's school uniform. Amidst all this, Reverend Merida informs Sicily, who is trying to use Shin, that Shin's enchantment magic will turn him into armor of national treasure class, and asks if she is prepared to wear it. Sicily cried and honestly told Merida that she wanted to use him and that she could not accept it, and Merida was very fond of her, and hoped that somehow Sicily and Shin, who was like a grandson to her, would start a relationship.

Watching the two flirting in front of everyone, it seems like they're already dating, but their relationship isn't progressing smoothly. It seems Sicily still hasn't realized that her feelings are romantic. Unable to bear seeing this, Merida starts a plan with Maria to somehow get Sicily to understand her feelings. The plan is simply for Maria to invite Shin out and the two of them go out together. While Maria is away, Merida tells Sicily that she wants to have Shin all to herself, and that she doesn't want another girl to take him away from her. It's at this moment that Sicily realizes that she likes how she feels about Shin. Merida had made a great assist.

These two are constantly flirting with each other. This has been the same since the beginning of the story. Shin finally gives Sicily a ring as a gift. Even though he had intended to give everyone magically enchanted accessories, he mispronounces it and ends up saying it as if he is giving the accessories as a gift to a girl he likes. Sicily is thrilled, but is shocked when she finds out the truth. Seeing Sicily feeling down, Shin goes into flirting mode, saying, "I want to buy Sicily an accessory myself." He then successfully chooses a ring and gives it to her as a gift. This kind of flirting scene appears all the time.

The time finally comes for Shin to confess his feelings to Sicily. It's one night during training camp. Aug is advised by Shin that it's time to make things clear. Aug later says that this advice was given to avoid the flag that if he confessed after the battle was over, he would die in the middle of the battle. Shin took this advice. One night during the training camp, Shin happened to go outside and found Sicily there, who had come to cool off in the hot springs after getting heated up. The two of them talked about old times. And finally!! He confessed his love to Sicily. Hearing this, Sicily cried and replied, "I love you too. I really like you." And so, Shin and Sicily began dating.

After hearing Aug's story about dating a nobleman, Shin calls Sicily's parents to the training camp and, sitting in seiza in front of everyone, asks for their permission to date Sicily and announces the news. Sicily's parents are delighted. In the midst of all this, Merlin and Merida talk about Shin's past and reveal that he is not their real grandson. There are no problems with this at all and the announcement is made amicably. Afterwards, Shin gives her the ring again. The two then become engaged.
