The title of this work is "The Reincarnated Sage's Life in Another World," but the protagonist is a unique being with two professions: a sage and a tamer. He uses his sage abilities to defeat tamed monsters. The story unfolds in this style. This time, we'll introduce the monsters the protagonist tames and befriends, as well as the enemy monsters that appear as enemies.
Slime
Slimes are often just minor characters that appear at the very beginning of any anime or game, but in this work, it's no exaggeration to say that the slime is the protagonist. It's the first slime to appear, tamed by Yuji, who is still confused by the other world. Rather, it just jumped onto Yuji's hand and tamed him, becoming his friend. While slimes themselves aren't particularly strong, like in other anime, they gain powerful spells when imbued with Yuji's magic. Furthermore, they often join Yuji's team without Yuji having to tame them. Slimes recruit other slimes in each area, rapidly increasing the number of slimes by the hundreds.
Red Slime
A subspecies of slime. Discovered while heading to the volcano, it became Yuji's friend after being recruited by a slime. Its distinctive feature is the flame on its head, but its abilities are the same as other slimes, and it doesn't have any special moves. Although it lives in volcanoes, it also has the same food preferences and primarily lives on leaves.
Dragon
Many dragons appear in this series, but this one was the first to appear. It doesn't have an official name, just a "dragon." It seems to be one of the weaker dragons, as it barely took any damage when Yuji was sent flying by its tail, and was reduced to bones with a single hit of its early-level "Ending Flame."
Proud Wolf
This is the monster Yuji tamed after the slime, and like the slime, it's a regular monster. Contrary to its cool name, Proud Wolf has a weak and timid personality. It's quick to beg for its life and is the first to hide when a formidable enemy appears. After joining the team, its main role is as a means of transportation. It carries Yuji and slimes on its back. Incidentally, when equipped with a magical item, it can travel at speeds approaching 100 km/h without colliding with obstacles. Although timid, she is also diligent and listens to Yuji's orders.
Dryad
Although not a monster, this forest fairy is skilled at making medicine. Yuji saved the forest from danger, and although she is not tamed, she often appears and helps Yuji when he is in trouble. She can instantly travel through trees within her range. For example, she can transport an indoor houseplant from outside to inside through a tree.
Earth Dragon
A high-rank B-rank monster. While B-rank may sound weak, high-rank B-rank monsters are generally considered to be among the strongest monsters found in ordinary forests. (An E-rank adventurer would lose their will to fight and hide at the mere sight of it.) Incidentally, Yuji killed the Earth Dragon with a single "Extreme Inferno."
Blue Dragon of Delight
This dragon is even more mythical than disaster level. It possesses powerful water magic and grows rapidly in three days. Legend has it that at full growth, it can destroy an entire continent in three days. Its weakness is fire, but even a direct hit from the "Extreme Inferno" that killed the Earth Dragon in one hit only caused minor damage. Finally, Yuji uses an item called the "Kethis Dagger," focusing the "Inferno of Demise" on the tip of the dagger. He gouges out the dragon's eye with the first hit and follows up with his special skill, "Heavenly Strike." Finally, he used "Flames of Destruction" once more and finally succeeded in decapitating the dragon.
Lesser Fire Dragon
Fire dragons are broadly divided into three species. The weakest is the Lesser Fire Dragon. Among them, the Blue Lesser Fire Dragon is born with special powers. The Fire Dragon is the king of all. All species share a common weakness: water. A Lesser Fire Dragon can be defeated simply by spraying water. The Blue Lesser Fire Dragon could not be defeated with water spray alone, and required 10 consecutive Medium Freezes (a spell that freezes the surrounding area) before it could be defeated.
Fire Dragon
And the final Fire Dragon emerged from a volcano and was incredibly large. It was damaged by rain and river water, but even 10 Medium Freezes, which defeated the Blue Lesser Fire Dragon, were not enough to inflict a fatal blow. Ultimately, it was defeated by freezing it with the "Curse of Permafrost," but it's said that in the past, leaving it in a rampaging state destroyed three cities.
Slabard
This monster is such good friends with slimes that they call each other "Slabard-kun" and "Slime-kun." It's the third monster species Yuji has tamed, following the slime and Proud Wolf. It can fly, but is terrible at fighting. It has a symbiotic relationship with slimes, and when slimes want to move, it rides them (though slimes say they're riding them, in reality, they're holding their heads), and in return, when it rains, the slimes show it hiding places. It's also omnivorous, and eats a lot of meat.
Baolzard
This dragon boasts such overwhelming size that it dwarfs all the dragons they've fought so far. It was sealed away by the "Blue Moon of Salvation" using a curse and was captured deep underground until Yuji and his friends freed it. Yuji then tamed it. Despite its large size, it has a gentle disposition, and is worshipped like a god by the village near its home.
Summary of Monsters Appearing in the Series
So far, we've introduced the monsters that appear in the series. What did you think? This time, we've introduced the monsters that appear up to volume 9 of the manga, but surprisingly, only four monsters have been tamed. It's unclear how many more monsters will join the team in the future, but it's likely that these four will be the only monsters tamed in the anime.
