With a cumulative total of over 5 million copies sold, the anime adaptation of "The Reincarnated Sage's Alternate World Life: I Gained a Second Profession and Became the Strongest in the World" will finally begin airing in July 2022. When it comes to anime adaptations, many people are curious about the production company and voice actors. So, this time, we'll introduce the production company and voice actors involved in this work! Let's predict what kind of anime it will be before it airs.
The anime production company is Revolt Inc.
Revolt Inc. is responsible for the anime production of "The Reincarnated Sage's Alternate World Life." While you may not be familiar with the production company, Revolt is a relatively new company founded in 2016. Their first work was "Babylon," which was adapted into an anime in 2019. Their second work was "I've Been Killing Slimes for 300 Years and Maxed Out Level," which was adapted into an anime in 2021. And their third work is "The Reincarnated Sage's Alternate World Life." While "Babylon" was a serious work that caused a lot of controversy, "I've Been Killing Slimes for 300 Years" has a cute, fluffy image, which suggests they can create a variety of anime styles without bias. Slimes also appear as major characters in this work, so perhaps slime-related works will follow on from the previous one (lol).
Director and character designer: Keisuke Kojima
Keisuke Kojima is the director and character designer for "The Reincarnated Sage's Alternate World Life." Kojima is known for his debut as animation director on "The Ambition of Oda Nobuna" at the age of 25. He later served as animation director on One-Punch Man and Kill la Kill, and has also worked as animation director on two anime previously produced by the same animation production company.
Naohiro Fukushima is in charge of series composition
Naohiro Fukushima is in charge of series composition for The Reincarnated Sage's Life in Another World. He has a wide range of screenplays, including those for long-running series such as "Atashin'chi," "Doraemon," and "Ojarumaru." He also wrote the scripts for two other works by the same production company: "Babylon" and "200 Years After Killing Slimes."
The protagonist, Yuji Sano, is played by Chiaki Kobayashi.
The protagonist of this work, Yuji Sano, is played by Chiaki Kobayashi. While her name may not be familiar to you, she is a relatively new voice actress, having only begun her career in 2017. Despite having played major characters in numerous works, she has already been cast in five major roles in 2022, making her a promising voice actress. She is also active as a voice actor for movies and TV dramas. Personally, I was intrigued by her role as Riki, the protagonist Kunio's partner in "Nekketsu Koha Kunio-kun Gaiden."
Dryad is played by Azusue Waki
Dryad, the heroine of this work, is played by Azusue Waki. She's also a relatively young voice actress, having only begun her voice acting career in 2015, but she's already played several major characters in popular anime and is a highly sought-after voice actress. While she has been playing key characters since the series' inception, she is best known for her roles as Sanae Katagiri in "The Idolmaster" and Special Week, the protagonist of "Uma Musume: Pretty Derby." In recent years, she has also voiced Hinata Tachibana, the heroine of "Tokyo Revengers," and Flatterte in the same production company's previous work, "300 Years of Slime Killing."
Proud Wolf will be played by Wataru Takagi
In this series, Wataru Takagi plays Proud Wolf, the weak-willed wolf tamed after the slime. He's a veteran voice actor who has been active since 1987, and while there's no end to the list of major characters he's played, one of his most famous characters is Detective Takagi from "Detective Conan," who also shares his name. Incidentally, he also plays Genta of the Detective Boys in Detective Conan. Of course, he's played many major characters in more recent works, but I think he's a very memorable voice actor for people in their late 30s and 40s, including Onizuka Eikichi, the protagonist of "GTO," and Aoki in "Hajime no Ippo."
These are the voice actors for the slimes
A large number of slimes appear as important characters in The Reincarnated Sage's Alternate World Life. While it's unclear how many slimes will have voice actors, these six are currently the main characters with names and voice actors.
Sla
The first slime Yuuji tamed...or rather, the slime that became attached to him and became his friend. Sla is voiced by Hikaru Tono. A new voice actress who began her career in 2018, she has recently voiced Machikane Tanhoiza in the second season of "Uma Musume" and Suzuran in the spring 2022 anime "Kunoichi Tsubaki no Mune no Uchi." She has also been active on stage in connection with "Assault Lily."
Surapatchi
Surapatchi, who is easily identified by her eyepatch, is voiced by Mai Kanno. While she has been active as a voice actress since 2007, she only began working full-time around 2019. (As of 2022, she is 23 years old, meaning her first voice acting role was around age 7.) Due to her short career, she has only played one major character: Sakura Kawasaki from "IDOLY PRIDE." However, she has also formed a character song unit and sung opening and ending songs for anime.
Mayusura
Mayusura, who, as her name suggests, is characterized by her thick eyebrows and loves to eat, is voiced by Kazuki Mikawa. This voice actress has been active since 2020, but only began full-time work in 2022, making her a true rookie. As such, she has never played a main character before. However, in 2022, in addition to Mayusura, she is set to play Rin, a main character in "Soredemo Ayumu wa Yosetekuru."
Surahappa
Surahappa, a slime with leaves in its pigtails, is voiced by Elisa Kuon. Originally from the Philippines, she began her voice acting career in 2018. This will be her first time playing a main character, having never played a main character before. She also has a somewhat unusual background as a kamishibai (paper theater) artist, and is active in kamishibai (paper theater) performances.
Higesura
Higesura, the slime with the most memorable and impactful appearance, is voiced by Hima Omori. Having been active as a voice actress since 2014, she is relatively experienced among the slimes. She has also played many major characters, including Yurine Hanazono in "Dropkick! My Devil is a Slime" and Ena Ibarada in "Science Fell in Love, So I Tried to Prove It." She also voiced major characters in works that released sequels this year. Personally, since the slime has a beard, I expected a more mature male voice actor to play him, but since it's a young female voice actress, I'm curious to see how she'll handle the role.
PekeSla
PekeSla, known for her cross-shaped scar on her cheek and high energy, is voiced by Miharu Hanai. She has been active as a voice actress since 2017, and her first major role was as Murakami Tomoe in "The Idolmaster Cinderella Girls Theater." In "Uma Musume," she also plays Twin Turbo, who played a major role in the second season. Sla is the voice actor duo of Machikane Tannhauser and Twin Turbo. Murakami Tomoe and Twin Turbo have also released character songs, appearing in quite a few of them.
