Based on a light novel, "Spy Classroom" tells the story of a group of girls who are recruited as spies and team up to succeed. The original manga sold over one million copies in circulation during the first season, making it a huge hit. The second season is scheduled to air in July, garnering much attention. So, who do you think is the strongest spy in this series? While this is largely my own speculation, I'd like to present a top five ranking of the strongest! I invite you to make your own guesses.

About the Ranking Criteria

The ranking criteria were determined by comprehensively considering physical and mental abilities, special skills, and other factors. Each character has both positive and negative aspects as a spy, so it was surprisingly difficult to decide where to differentiate them. By the way, Klaus is so strong that if he were included in the rankings, he would undoubtedly be ranked number one. Since he's a Hall of Fame member, I didn't include him. Therefore, I've chosen my top five from the eight characters. What constitutes strength varies from person to person, so please read on and make your own guesses!

5th Place: Tia

Tia

Ranked fifth is Tia, codenamed "Yumego." She's a character with distinctive black hair and a seductive outfit. While she's at the bottom of this ranking, I think she's still a pretty strong character, considering that some characters aren't even on the list. Possessing a style and sex appeal beyond her years, she excels at negotiation, using her charms to extract information from others and reading their desires by looking them in the eye. As the oldest member of the team, she often leads them together, but she also has a fragile mentality. While her mental health remains a concern, she plays a crucial role in negotiations.

4th Place: Annette

Annette

Ranked fourth is Annette, codenamed "Borrowed." She's a mysterious character, characterized by her pink hair and eyepatch, and uses the first-person pronoun "oresama." While listed as 14 years old, this is only stated on paperwork; her actual age is unknown. She's skilled at crafting and can make weapons and bombs. Her mischievous nature makes it difficult to read her thoughts from her everyday behavior, further deepening the mystery surrounding Annette. However, her crafting skills are all useful for spies, so even judging by what we know, she's quite strong. If a scene revealing her strength were to air, her ratings would likely rise and she might even make it into the top three. You can learn more about Annette in Volume 3 of the manga. This part will air in Season 2 of the anime, so if you're interested, be sure to check it out.

3rd Place: Grete

Grete

Ranked third is Grete, codenamed "Daughter." A graceful girl with distinctive red hair, Grete's special skill is disguise. She's a master of disguise, able to mimic not only appearances but also voices and gestures. She's also quick to devise strategies and possesses a sharp mind. While her skill alone would make her a top-ranking figure, Grete's flaw is her fear of men. Though she was born into a political family, her father and brother hated the birthmark she had on her face. This caused her to feel uncomfortable in high society and develop a fear of men. As a result, she was unable to utilize her special skills in the infiltration and negotiation exams at training school, and she fell behind.

Grete's Growth

If Grete still had a fear of men, she might have ranked lower. However, after Klaus complimented her natural appearance, she developed feelings for him, and her fear of men faded. But is it possible that she's not attracted to any other men? Some may think so, but in the final episode of the first season, she has no problem conversing with the male owner of a meat pie shop. In addition to her inherently high skills, she's also arguably the character who has grown the most mentally since joining "Hikari."

2nd Place: Jibia

Jibia

Ranked second is Jibia, codenamed "Hyakki." She's distinguished by her dignified appearance and white hair. While she has a slightly delinquent-like vibe, she's a character with a strong sense of justice. She has excellent combat abilities, making her the strongest member of the team in simple hand-to-hand combat. She's also skilled at stealing items without being noticed. Her intelligence is nothing to write home about, and even Lily, who is notoriously clumsy, points this out to her. In fact, she was originally the daughter of a gangster, but she reported on her younger siblings to the police to protect them, and after her father was arrested, she began espionage to donate money to the orphanage that had taken in her siblings. She inherited her ability to steal from her father, so it's quite ironic that she is using her arrested father's skills to engage in espionage. Her level as a spy is high, especially in terms of her combat ability, but she came in just short of first place.

1st Place: Monica

Monica

Ranked in at number one is Monica, codenamed "Kouba." She has distinctive bluish-silver hair and uses the first-person pronoun "boku." For better or worse, she tends to go at her own pace and often adopts an arrogant attitude. She's not very cooperative and often makes sarcastic remarks. However, her espionage skills are top-notch, and overall, she's undoubtedly the strongest member of "Hikari." In fact, she's considered the strongest by her peers. Why was Monica treated as a failure? Apparently, she deliberately slacked off during her time at the training institute. In other words, if she had put her mind to it, she could have easily become the top of the organization. Monica didn't do much in the first season. However, I'm looking forward to seeing her in action as part of the selected group in the second season!

Strongest Ranking Summary

I think many people will agree with Monica's #1 ranking. However, there may be significant differences in the rankings below. Depending on the content of the second season, evaluations may change, and some characters' rankings may even fluctuate. Lily, Sara, and Elna, who didn't make the rankings this time, may end up in the top ranks! That's all for today. Thank you for reading.
