We've compiled some of the quotes spoken by Anson Sue, Tanya's only rival in the anime version of Saga of Tanya the Evil. Through his words, you may get a glimpse into the man who was filled with love, cared for his friends, and became a demon of revenge.
First Battle with Tanya
She was smaller than my daughter!
Perhaps because they were surprised by her size, no one considered Tanya to be a threat. Tanya quickly proved that this was a mistake, and the unit was annihilated. If Anson Sue had seriously intercepted Tanya at this time, rather than underestimating her because she was a child, they might have been able to defeat her before she became a threat to the Entente Alliance. They might have avoided the future loss of many of their subordinates and the path of revenge that lay ahead.
Why would my daughter do something like this?
The gift from his daughter, Mary Sue, a slightly premature one, was a submachine gun engraved with her initials.
The sight of her daughter embracing the gun, wondering why she had such a thing, evoked the deep love between father and daughter. Anson Sue must have felt reassured when he carefully carried the gun from his daughter onto the battlefield. That is, until he was defeated in battle by Tanya and it was taken from him. The gun, which she had given as a talisman, wishing for her father's victory and survival, ended up being used by Tanya, her enemy. What a tragic ending. Mary Sue's feelings did not reach God.
The Battle of the Fjord
What a spectacular view! The narrow, winding fjord, with its many capes and islands, high cliffs, and the 20 artillery batteries scattered throughout, allowing for targeting from anywhere.
Anson Sue probably thought the sea was the strongest at the time. However, his carelessness proved fatal, as his troops and artillery were destroyed.
By the hands of Tanya's Aerial Mage Squadron.
During this battle, Tanya also took the gun Mary Sue had given him as a gift.
It was a battle in which carelessness led to a major blunder.
Why only the gun turrets?
He quickly considered the enemy's actions, but was unable to come up with a solution, ultimately allowing the battleship to invade. If he had been able to realize their aim at this time, the course of the battle may have been dramatically changed.
Hold your head down
These words were spoken simultaneously by both of them during their battle.
This depiction shows that they were rivals of Tanya. Despite the same commanding remarks, it was Anson Sue who was actually subjugated. Tanya also appears to have the upper hand in terms of leadership ability.
God, why? Why is she here?
Anson Sue spots Tanya, her hated enemy whose troops were previously wiped out.
It's unclear how angry he was, but the way he charged towards Tanya made him look like a demon bent on revenge.
The Final Match with Tanya
The Lord's guidance
In his final battle with Tanya, Anson Sue ignores his own safety and abandons his pride to use weapons that violate the treaty in order to kill Tanya. It is unclear whether he went to such lengths for the sake of his comrades who had been killed by Tanya, or whether he went after her out of anger at himself for not being able to protect them, but his sole goal of defeating Tanya is so intense that it almost makes him insane. In the end, Tanya riddles him with bullets with the submachine gun she stole during the battle for the fjord, but he attempts a suicide bombing that would take Tanya down with it, but he is unable to defeat her and passes away.
Summary
Perhaps Anson Sue was destined by God to fight Tanya.
