Toji no Miko (Sword Maidens), which began airing in January 2018, is a battle series in which young girls use swordsmanship to fight monsters called Aratama. A little after the anime aired, Square Enix also released the app "Toji no Miko: Tokimishi Issen no Hikari", which is a sword action RPG. Although the perspectives of both the anime and the app are different, the main story is generally connected. In a world where strange monsters called Aratama rage throughout Japan, this work depicts the daily struggles of young girls called Toji, who have trained to use swords called mitou to defeat the Aratama and protect the people. Each character has their own school of swordsmanship, and most of these schools are based on real-life examples, and their sword techniques are also based on these.

Gokaden is a Toji enrolled at Heijo Academy, and is skilled enough to advance to the finals of the Imperial Tournament. Her late mother was also a Toji, and upon learning the cause of her death, she attempts to avenge her mother by defeating Tagitsuhime, also known as Origami Murasaki, but is killed in return. She is forced to live on the run with Kanami, but ultimately succeeds in defeating the demon and becomes one of the heroes who stopped the second great disaster. Having achieved her goal, she initially attempts to retire from the Toji, but returns after hearing of the current critical situation. Her style is the Kashima Shinto style, and her sword is the Kogarasumaru, just like her mother's. She is voiced by Onishi Saori.

Her long black hair and blunt bangs are simply simply adorable. Just like Mio Akiyama and Eltaso, this is classic cuteness. Her voice actress, Saori Onishi, further enhances her cuteness, which I think is wonderful.
