On August 22nd, it was announced that it would be broadcast as a winter 2019 anime under the title "Kakegurui XX." Here, we have compiled a list of spinoff works of Kakegurui.

In a crazy school, despite being smart, the tsundere twin-tailed girl Saotome Meari is relatively ordinary because everyone around her is eccentric. We will introduce her from the spin-off work "Kakegurui Twin".
The main character, Saotome Meari
She is a talented girl who entered the school as a scholarship student. She brings a water bottle to school meals, and her childish personality makes her heart flutter. However, the private school she attends, Hyakkaou Academy, is a school where the super upper class ladies and gentlemen, and people who are heirs to political and financial circles, gather. What is important at this school is not academic ability or sports, but only gambling ability.

She doesn't think she's a good person at all. She's willing to trample on anything to win. However, in reality, it becomes clear that she is a very righteous person. She reacts sharply to things that go against the rules, hurt others, and arrogance. She doesn't get angry even if people make fun of her, but she will speak up if someone behaves in a way that puts her at a disadvantage.

Meari knows nothing about gambling and has never done it. She grew up in a very ordinary commoner family. When she becomes a scholarship student and brings her own water bottle, people around her think that she is declaring, "I studied hard because I didn't have any money." She is a complete beginner when it comes to gambling. In a school where cheating is rampant, this is what they mean when they say that suckers come bearing the scallion.

In the first match, the bet is 10,000 yen per match. This is a shock for Meari, who has never bet before. It's not 100 yen or something! Or are you betting money!? However, at this school, 10,000 yen doesn't count as money. The debt balloons to 200,000, 300,000 yen. Even for an adult, losing this much money through gambling is a big blow. For high school student Meari, it's an amount she can't repay. The kids around her are incredibly wealthy. 200,000 yen is just pittance. She has to survive among kids who can just pull out stacks of million yen bills without becoming a weakling. She's at a huge disadvantage, like the (former) human Geronimo in Kinnikuman who is mixed in with the superhumans. She's exactly in the state of a millionaire who is "extremely pauper." She starts out by enduring the ridicule of those around her.

The woman chose to fight thoroughly and become the winner no matter what. She tells Tsuzura Hanatemari, who has admired her since childhood and is now being bullied at school for losing at gambling. "We will rise to the top. So that we will never be made fun of again. If that will be decided by gambling, then we will gamble and win! We will show all the rich people at school what they deserve. We will be winners!" At first, they were the underdogs. But they will no longer be called the underdogs. From then on, she is completely fixated on the word "winners." It is a rise from the current situation of being exploited and weak.
The appeal of "Kakegurui Twin"

The main story of "Kakegurui" is an interesting work in which a mutant named Jabami Yumeko stirs up trouble at school with her superhuman powers that never allow her to lose and her difficult-to-understand value that the outcome doesn't matter. On the other hand, "Kakegurui Twin" is a story of gutsy rise to success, with Saotome Meari trying her best to win even if it means working her butt off. They are twins. The key to the story is Meari's personality. She hates to lose, and won't hesitate to use dirty tricks to win. This is an essential part of a gambler who will win even if it means cheating. During the game, she never shows any signs of being upset, even when she's losing.

She is also smart in areas other than gambling. She is good at calmly thinking about when to win and when to quit. After all, Meari has no money. Rather than trying to win matches with all her might, she is able to properly calculate profits by running a gambling den over the long term and earning money little by little. This is very valuable, as the students at this school are all numb to money. And yet, he has an incredibly strong ability to provoke. He doesn't fight as a champion of justice. His immaturity is especially noticeable in "Twins." He often simply wins and becomes a "dumb idiot." His true nature is quite brazen and bold, but it also works to his advantage by not being intimidated by his opponents.

When it comes to competing, she is far lacking in experience. She relies heavily on the power of her teammates, including Tsuzura, and uses her brain to the fullest. She is not arrogant and will do anything to win, which is proof that she is a hard worker. Looking at it this way, Meari has almost all the essential elements of a protagonist in a shonen manga. He has worked his way up, has friendships with his teammates, and works hard to build up those friendships. He has the tenacity to not get discouraged even when scorned, and the pride to fight in his own way. It's a thrilling story that ends with him triumphing at the very end.
Kakeguiru Mō

This work focuses on one of the students, Midari Ikishima, who is the student council beautification committee chairperson, and depicts her crazy personality and gambling habits. As the title suggests, going crazy is the essence of gambling, and perhaps the truer the gambler, the crazier they are. And the crazier they are, the more they shine. This work, "Kakegurui Mō," is a spin-off of "Kakegurui," a work by the same author, Kawamoto Homura. The setting and setting are the same, but the protagonist and his goals are different.
Main character: Ishima Mō

She is by far the craziest person in Hyakkaou Academy, a den of eccentrics and weirdos. If you had to describe her in one word, the two words "pervert" would be the perfect word. Although she has a high level of intelligence and insight, she is not obsessed with winning money through gambling. She is fascinated by the excitement that comes with gambling, and the higher the risk of death in gambling, the more excited she gets.

The gambling she proposes can be seen as abnormal, as she even does things that could hurt her body or even kill her. She wears her trademark eyepatch because she lost her left eye in gambling, which shows just how crazy she is.

One episode that shows her abnormality is the scene where she gambles in a game called "Hand Knife Trick." During this game, Mō repeatedly stabs her fingers with a compass, but the pain that a normal person would not be able to bear is "pleasure" for her. That's why she has an ecstatic expression on her face along with the stabbing sound. Even in the "Kakegurui" series, which is full of crazy characters, her eccentric behavior is not understood at all, and everyone finds her creepy and treats her coldly. But even that may be a pleasure for her.
The charm of Kakeguiru Mō

The gambling depicted in this work is not only cruel, but also simple. For example, the game "Card guessing" is, as the name suggests, a game in which you find the winning card out of three face-down cards. Although it's supposed to be one-third down to luck, it's actually not that easy to win. Players are at the mercy of techniques such as turning down cards and making small movements. At Hyakkaou Academy, everything can be a gamble. The appeal is that every game, every gamble, is packed with advanced tactics.
Kakeguiru (tentative)

Kakegurui (tentative) has a completely different atmosphere from "Kakegurui" and "Kakegurui Twin". It has a very loose 4-panel manga-like finish. It's a pretty relaxed story, with plenty of dialogue between Jabami Yumeko and Saotome Mary, as well as a heartwarming depiction of everyday school life. However, of course, there are gambling scenes in "Kakegurui (Twin)".

It's called "Sushi Russian Roulette." It's the kind of thing with lots of wasabi that you often see on variety shows. Even gambling has become more relaxed, which makes you chuckle in places. The gap between Kakegurui and Kakegurui (tentative) is a pleasant one to watch.
