The story highlights the absurdity of gambling, where students deceive each other, read each other's hands, and receive large sums of money and popularity if they win, while those who lose are humiliated, as well as the dark side of capitalist society.

She has blonde hair tied in twin tails, a beautiful appearance, and her birthday is March 8th. Despite her pretty appearance, she has a quick mind and excels at grasping the essence of games, giving her high specs overall. Incidentally, although she maintains a high hierarchy in a school with many wealthy students, she is actually one of the few students to come from an ordinary family.

Until Yumeko arrived, Meari was the strongest gambler in the Hana-gumi. She was later defeated by Yumeko in a gambling match. However, after a series of twists and turns, she and Yumeko form a cooperative relationship. They even partner up in gambling. At the beginning of the story, she appears to be a very emotionally charged character, but that gradually fades, and she even appears to be calm and collected. Her sharp mind and acting skills make her an essential character in Kakegurui.
