Kakegurui is a work about gambling. Its appeal lies in the fact that, despite the gambling backdrop, each character's unique personality is extremely edgy. The characters are all edgy by nature. One of the charms of the show is how their gambling methods and strategies perfectly match their personalities. Some characters cheat to win, some are looking for a place to die, some simply enjoy gambling, and some are just acting. What they value and what they despise is all expressed through gambling. I don't gamble much, but the story has elements of board games, so I'm really enjoying reading it.
