Many characters appear in the otherworldly izakaya "Nobu", from the character who runs the izakaya Nobu to regulars who frequent the bar on a daily basis, to characters who only appear in one episode. Among them, I've ranked the most fascinating characters! While I'm sure that this ranking will vary greatly from person to person, I'll start by introducing my top 10 rankings, chosen based on my own arbitrary and biased opinions!

10th Place: Nikolaus

Nicholas, who also appears in the program's promotions

For 10th place, we chose Nikolaus, a regular among regulars. His love for Izakaya Nobu and the number of times he's visited the restaurant are probably among the most impressive characters in the series. His charming character is truly that of a lovable idiot. However, his one flaw as a handsome, gentle man is his bad habits with women, which is why he's ranked 10th.

9th Place: Nobuyuki Yazawa (Nobu Taisho)

In 9th place is the protagonist of this work, Nobuyuki Yazawa, also known as "Taisho." He has an extraordinary passion for cooking and is a hard worker who is constantly researching how to use ingredients from other worlds and create dishes that will suit the palates of Aiteiria's customers. However, this ranking is based on attractiveness. Although the chef is also attractive as a quiet, artisan-like type, he has been placed 9th this time.

8th Place: Liontine du Louve

In 8th place is Liontine, who fell in love with Berthold but was heartbroken. She was the one who cut Berthold's arm when he was frightened by the squid decoration. However, Liontine herself mistakenly believed that he was going easy on her because she was a woman. The best thing about Liontine was that right after her heartbreak she was laughing and drinking with the other guests. I was also charmed by her generosity in holding back her tears and congratulating Hermina.

7th Place: Hermina

In 7th place is the strong-willed Hermina, who even intimidates the feared "Demon Company Commander" Bertholdt! If this character were simply cute, it would be hard to know whether he would make the ranking, but contrary to his appearance, he has a rather wild side, and that contrast is irresistible. He generally interacts with people with a smile, but if he gets too angry, he can make the men, including Berthold, tremble in fear...

6th Place: Lorenz

6th place goes to the sensible, mature Lorenz! The most attractive thing about Lorenz is without a doubt the deep voice of Takaya Kuroda! Furthermore, as a character, he is always on Izakaya Nobu's side as a member of the Ancient Capital Council, and is literally one of his strongest allies. However, he and his childhood friend Holger always end up bickering whenever they meet... (lol)

5th Place: Berthold

5th place goes to the demon squadron commander, Berthold! Even though he's a demon as the commander of the guards, his dignity sometimes fades when faced with the food at Izakaya Nobu. In particular, when he misses out on the chicken nanban, he ends his training early the next day and rushes to the restaurant. Since marrying Hermina, he's become a good husband and is always worried about her, which is also appealing. Incidentally, I also liked the contrast with his appearance when he hated squid.

4th Place: Shinobu Senge

Our fourth place pick goes to Shinobu, the poster girl of Izakaya Nobu! If we were to rank the most attractive characters in the world of Isekai Izakaya Nobu, she would undoubtedly come in first place, but that's just my personal ranking (lol). Shinobu's greatest charm is undoubtedly her smile, which made Hans fall in love with her instantly! She's always smiling while working and is reliable, but she also has a slightly airheaded side to her, which makes her a charming character.

3rd Place: Hildegard

My third place pick is Hildegard, who only appeared in one episode but left a strong impression with her intense tsundere personality. She's probably the girl in all of anime who ate thick boiled tofu with the most relish in the world. Although she appears to be a selfish tsundere, she's actually a kind character who worries about her uncle who takes care of her. Of course, her cuteness while eating is also one of her charms!

Second Place: Geanoto

Second place goes to Geanoto, famous for his Neapolitan. If Hildegard is a tsundere girl, Geanoto is a tsundere uncle. The charm of Geanort really comes into its own after discovering Neapolitan pasta. It's no exaggeration to say that he was the person who contributed the most to the Toriaezunama Lager Incident and was the savior who saved Nobu. Since then, I've been able to eat Neapolitan pasta at Izakaya Nobu all the time, so it's a win-win situation.

Do you sometimes side with the enemy?

Geanort's job is as a tax collector. Naturally, he'll side with Izakaya Nobu's enemies if the job calls for it... but that's just a disguise. In reality, he gathers various pieces of evidence and corners Backeshof and Damien in order to expose their evil deeds, who are actually trying to frame Izakaya Nobu. This intelligence is also one of Gernot's charms.

1st Place: Eva

The honorable first place goes to Eva, the little poster girl of Izakaya Nobu! Despite being a small child, she's a reliable character with plenty of childlike qualities, making her a charming character. What's most charming about him is seeing him eat the food that's served to him with such gusto! When his favorite egg dishes are served, he eats with such joy that it makes you happy just by looking at his happy face.

The eating scenes in the manga version are even more captivating!

Eva's mealtime scenes are already more than adorable in the anime, but in the manga, they're even cuter. She looks just like a small animal... When the chef asks, "Do you want some, Eva?", she always nods and takes a bite. The eating scene introduced earlier is cute, but this scene where she eats kushikatsu made with quail eggs is also a must-see!

This time, I was only able to introduce the top 10 characters, but honestly, Izakaya Nobu has so many fascinating characters that I would love to introduce up to about 30. There are many fascinating characters that we couldn't introduce, such as that character from the Water Transport Guild, that character from the nobility or the previous emperor, and even that character who was a complete villain. Who was your number one fascinating character?
