What's fun about watching Isekai Izakaya Nobu is the story and the delicious-looking dishes that appear each week! From alcoholic drinks to quick and easy dishes called otoshi, as well as appetizers and main courses...a wide variety of dishes appear, from typical izakaya dishes to ones that aren't typical of an izakaya. This time, we'll be shining the spotlight on these delicious-looking dishes and ranking them! We've chosen dishes that look simply delicious.

10th place is a somewhat unexpected salad: Warm Egg Caesar Salad! I'm not a huge salad fan, but when I saw this, it looked incredibly delicious. In particular, the soft-boiled egg on top is mashed and mixed in...it's a dish I've never actually tried, but it's definitely a salad I'd like to try at least once.

There are some unusual salads like this...

The anime continues with the spy being treated to a variety of salad dishes, including daikon radish salad and potato salad, but the one that most surprised the spy was this "Fruit Salad Hyakushiki"! This gorgeous salad is served in a dragon fruit bowl and sprinkled with gold leaf. By the way, unlike the manga, in the anime, the chef enthusiastically serves it (lol).

9th Place: Shinobu's Special Neapolitan

In ninth place is "Shinobu's Special Neapolitan," made not by the chef but by Shinobu! I'm sure Geranoat would be angry if I ranked this ninth, but I personally love meat sauce and carbonara, so I ranked it this high... Incidentally, the chef's Neapolitan was apparently made with butter, giving it an even richer flavor and more deliciousness.

There was also a fuss over the bacon used in the Neapolitan...

Originally, this "Shinobu-chan's Special Neapolitan" was meant to be Shinobu's personal meal, so it's likely not intended to be particularly extravagant. However, one of our customers, Geernot, said he wanted to eat some, so we quickly decided to add some thick-cut bacon. However, the thick-cut bacon used was for the chef's evening drinks... Even though it's the original work, I've never seen the chef look like that before (lol).

The deliciousness of the dish makes Gernot feel like he's in outer space.

Neapolitan. While it's certainly delicious, I wasn't sure if I should even rank it... But it was Gheanote's reaction that gave me the push I needed. If Neapolitan can reveal the answers to life, the universe, and everything else, there's no way I wouldn't include it (lol).

8th Place: Nobu's Special Yudofu with Bean Sauce

In eighth place: "Nobu's Special Yudofu with Bean Sauce," perfect for the upcoming cold season! As a child, I couldn't even look at yudofu, but now that it looks so delicious, it makes me realise how old I am... However, in the anime, Hildecaldo is still a child eating it. Even a child like him devoured it, so it must have been delicious.

A slightly unusual cooking method for Izakaya Nobu

Usually, the chef prepares the food at the counter and serves it to customers, but for this yudofu, he prepared a gas stove and cooked it right in front of Hildecard and his friends. It's clear that regular boiled tofu before it becomes thick with bean paste looks delicious enough. As it was a dish for children, there was no alcohol, but it definitely makes you want some sake.

A beautiful girl's expression makes the thick, sweet-sweet tofu look even more delicious.

No matter how delicious the thick, sweet-sweet tofu looks, it probably wouldn't have ranked so highly if it was being eaten by a scruffy old man. One of the main reasons this bean-jam tofu made it onto the list is because it was the beautiful girl Hildecald eating it! You might get angry and say, "That's even possible!?", but it must be delicious to make Hildecald, who is usually a light eater, say something like this.

7th Place: Shinobu's Special Sandwich

7th place goes to the "Shinobu's Special Sandwich," also made by Shinobu, who is not a contestant! It's a classic sandwich with fluffy eggs and lettuce, but since it was airing at a time when people were starting to get hungry, the sandwich looked incredibly delicious. Needless to say, the pork cutlet sandwich that came afterwards was also mouth-watering.

The sound effects made by the customers eating the sandwiches are unfair!

Delicious sound effects are a common theme in Isekai Izakaya Nobu, and they were used in this sandwich as well. The fluffy egg was nice, but what really caught my eye was the word "crunchy" written in lettuce-like letters... Vegetable sandwiches tend to get limp over time, so this looked really delicious.

6th Place: Appetizer

At Izakaya Nobu, appetizers are served along with fresh toriezunama and sake. The appetizers change daily, and the characters in the anime are always looking forward to what the appetizer will be. Among all the dishes, the one that looked the most delicious was Chikuzenni! I was debating between edamame and other beans, but when I entered the restaurant on an empty stomach, Chikuzenni was the best thing to have, so I chose this.

This is the classic appetizer!

The golden rule for appetizers is to serve them quickly and easily, and these edamame beans are a prime example of this! They're boiled in salt, and the salty flavor of the skin makes them irresistible. While waiting for the food, the edamame appetizer was so delicious that it almost wiped out the entire Toriaezunama. The edamame in the anime are plumper and more delicious than the ones we usually eat...

It's practically a dish in itself! Nanbanzuke served as an appetizer!

Another dish worth noting is the marinated horse mackerel served as an appetizer! While it's practically an a la carte dish, it's actually the first dish served. Again, I didn't like this dish because it was so sour when I was a kid, but as I grew up, I couldn't resist the sourness... but I guess young viewers might not understand the high rating (lol).

5th Place: Fried Chicken

In sixth place is the classic, ultra-classic "fried chicken"! This dish is popular with people of all ages in the real world, and it's also incredibly popular in anime. Since I'm used to eating it, it's easy to imagine what it tastes like, and watching the characters eat it with relish only whets my appetite... but I'm still agonizing over whether to eat fried chicken during Nobu's broadcast (lol).

Fried Cartilage Chicken

This fried cartilage was originally served by Hermina, who was angry when Berthold and Nikolaus were arguing about whether to season the fried chicken with soy sauce or salt. Fried cartilage has that crunchy texture and is small and easy to eat. You'll find yourself eating endless portions. What's more, the anime comes in two flavors: soy sauce and salt. You'll definitely be chomping at the bit!

There are plenty of other delicious fried foods!

This time, we couldn't make it to the top 10, but there are still tons of delicious fried foods in the same category as fried chicken! Kushikatsu, fried horse mackerel, tempura, and more... And the one that caught my eye the most was squid ring! To be honest, I was unsure whether to include these squid rings in the rankings until the very last moment, but I excluded them because they overlap with fried chicken; they look delicious and are ranked much higher.

4th Place: Nobu's Special Seafood Bowl

Our fourth place pick is "Nobu's Special Seafood Bowl"! Actually, this episode was pretty plain...or rather, it didn't leave much of an impression, but when you look at the food again, it was an incredibly delicious-looking seafood bowl. The bowl was piled high with salmon roe in the middle of a generous amount of sashimi, making it sparkle and shine. The fact that the sweet shrimp were with their heads attached also added to the luxurious feel.

Not only was the bowl excellent, but the sashimi was also great!

Of course, Izakaya Nobu also serves sashimi. After all, an izakaya is all about alcohol and sashimi. Holger loves tuna sashimi and ate it with his hands, but this sashimi looked the most delicious to me! I love sushi and rice bowls, but I'm not a big fan of sashimi. However, with sashimi that looked this delicious, I wanted to try it.

3rd Place: Chicken Nanban

Our third place pick is the "Chicken Nanban" smothered in tartar sauce! The chicken nanban at Izakaya Nobu was made by marinating fried chicken in a sauce and topping it with a tartar sauce made with pickled radishes. It's hard to describe, but I would absolutely love dipping this tartar sauce into the sweet and spicy fried chicken...

Chicken nanban is Shinobu's favorite!

Shinobu's happy eating style makes this already delicious chicken nanban look 100, even 1,000 times more delicious! With a smile like that, you can imagine how delicious it must be. It's no wonder that Shinobu, who is willing to use special ingredients for her customers, is so adamant about not giving up her chicken nanban to anyone.

Second Place: Nobu's Special Eel Bento

Second place goes to the "Nobu's Special Eel Bento"! It could be said that this is a miraculous dish that has elevated eels, which were once treated as small fry in the ancient capital of Aiteiria, into a famous local specialty. The contents are simply unaju toumaki (eel rice bowl with rice rolls)! With so much eel packed into it, you'd think the price would be quite high, but judging by the long lines of guards and ordinary citizens waiting to eat it, it doesn't seem too expensive.

They also serve kabayaki eel inside the restaurant.

This kabayaki eel is so popular that it's one of the reasons why "Izakaya Nobu" almost became "Unagi-ya Nobu." With something like this happening inside the restaurant, it's no wonder people are drawn in by the strong, delicious aroma. Gotthard and his friends were there because of a fishing rights issue, but when they tried this grilled eel, the problem was solved in an instant. It seems they made a huge profit from the eels that were caught in the fishing grounds that were the subject of the problem, and which were previously considered trash.

Shirayaki is also a must-try for sake connoisseurs.

When you think of eel, you probably imagine grilled eel dishes like kabayaki or unadon (eel bowl), smothered in a sweet and spicy sauce. However, this shirayaki is a favorite among sake lovers! It's a slightly unusual way to eat it, with wasabi and soy sauce, but it's so soft that Lorenz described it as "like an angel's wing" the moment he put it in his mouth.

1st Place: Toriaezunama! (Raw for now)

Cheers with Toriaezunama

The honorable first place in the delicious-looking dish category is "Toriaezunama"! I know I might get told off for not calling that a dish, but Izakaya Nobu wouldn't even start without Toriaezunama, so please forgive me for that (lol). It's a drink that appears every week, but the guards gulp it down with such relish that just watching it makes it look delicious. That "swoosh" sound effect is also unfair.

The essentials for Toriaezunama are the appetizer and, of course...

Shinobu Carrying Beer

Toriaezunama is certainly delicious on its own. However, it's not enough. It's no exaggeration to say that Toriaezunama is complete only with the appetizer and "Shinobu's smile." That "Thank you for waiting" followed by "Thank you for your hard work today." Hearing something like that will definitely make the Toriaezunama taste many times more delicious!

Of course, alcohol isn't just limited to beer, but also includes sake.

Izakaya Nobu's standard "Toriaezunama" beer is a must-try upon entering, but of course, they also have a wide variety of other sake, from sweet to dry. Deacon Edwin always has a drink of sake and sake kasu. Nikolaus also often orders sake, but overall, he seems to prefer cold sake to hot sake.

A roundup of delicious dishes

This time, I only made it to the top 10, so it was difficult to choose the dishes. This was probably the longest ranking I've ever made (lol). I really wanted to include things like omusoba (rice omelette) and simmered flatfish! They would have been fine in the top 20. Since everyone has different tastes, I'm sure there are many who think, "It's strange that that wasn't included!" But please forgive me... What dish did you think looked the most delicious?
