The owner of the otherworldly izakaya "Nobu" initially prepares traditional Japanese food while serving it in the other world. However, he begins to experiment to adapt his dishes to the locals' tastes. He seems to have been so troubled by his own cooking that he was deeply touched by a customer's remark about his own hesitation. While perhaps a true craftsman, the owner, who also serves as the restaurant's manager, always seems to keep the food and the customers' preferences in mind when running his business.

Naturally, the chef loves cooking. His greatest joy seems to be seeing customers enjoying his food. Apparently, this chef trained in Kyoto, Japan. Also, when you think of Kyoto, you think of lightly seasoned dishes like yuba (tofu skin) and Kyoto vegetables. I expect we'll see more of these dishes in the future.
