The Worst Tactic: "Waiting"
In 1991, when Street Fighter II ushered in an explosive fighting game boom, elementary school student Haruo Yaguchi, who had no talent other than gaming, faced a fierce opponent who achieved 29 consecutive wins with the weak character Zangief. This fierce opponent was Akira Ohno, a wealthy young lady from a completely different world than Haruo. To protect his self-centered pride, typical of gamers, Haruo resorts to unfair tactics to undermine Ohno. That tactic is the "waiting guillotine." It's the worst tactic in Street Fighter II, and it's unrivaled against Zangief.
Real Fight Begins
Even Ohno can't resist the waiting guillotine and loses the round. However, Haruo gets carried away and plays lightly, resulting in Ohno losing the round in a humiliating fashion. Haruo then defeats Ohno with Street Fighter II's most horrible "throwing trap," but Ohno, enraged, punches him in a real fight. This battle marks the beginning of the story and the beginning of their feud.

After his battle with Hidaka, Haruo, who has been bullied by gamers in Mizonokuchi, heads to a Shibuya arcade in search of a place to belong. There, he finds some gamers taking on the famous fighting game "Kaiser Knuckle."
The Fearsome General
A certain character is famous in the fighting game Kaiser Knuckle. That character is the final boss, the General. Its brutal abilities make it the strongest final boss in fighting games, and its unreasonable strength is so well-known that even the Game Master magazine wrote that the best way to defeat it is "with determination!" Haruo, who had been watching the scene, ends up challenging the General himself.
The only way is to trap him
Haruo demonstrates a strategy for defeating Generals that Ohno once devised: repeatedly using a "Shoryuken command followed by a low kick" to trap the opponent into a winning pattern. Even though it was a General match where one mistake could mean death, he somehow managed to win, drawing praise from the Shibuya team.

Haruo Learns the Hardships of the World
So Hidaka asks Haruo if he wants to play a fighting game. Haruo, who thought of Hidaka as a low-ranking novice, begins a challenge, ignorantly trying to teach him a lesson about the harshness of the world. However, Hidaka, who was only a gacha player until recently, has improved dramatically since his last encounter, overwhelming the timid Haruo so much that he can't even stand up to him.
I Won't Lose Even After Being Defeated a Million Times
After being thoroughly beaten by Hidaka, whom he considered inferior, Haruo trembles uncontrollably in frustration. Spirited and broken, it seemed as if the legend of Haruo's powerful fighting skills would come to an end. However, with encouragement from Guile and encouragement from Akira, Haruo chooses to get back on his feet. He decides to start over from scratch and boldly take on someone stronger than him.

After his battle with Hidaka, Haruo found himself uncomfortable in Mizonokuchi and drifted to Shibuya, where he was perhaps poisoned by the fun-loving friends he met there. Later, an opportunity arose for the Shibuya team to play against the Mizonokuchi team, and Haruo participated as a member of the Shibuya team. After losing to Haruo, Hidaka began to act cold towards him, but he became enraged when he saw Haruo being flirted with by a girl from the Shibuya team.
Hidaka Becomes Stronger Through Anger
Hidaka takes the lead in the 10-on-10 battle. Demonstrating her incredible strength with her maiden rage, Hidaka sweeps away the Shibuya forces, even defeating the leader, Haruo, by humiliatingly stripping off his armor, achieving an astonishing 10-on-10 battle. Anger can dull your skills, but often it doesn't.

After the incident in Shibuya, Ohno comes to Hidaka's house to settle things with him. Ohno is a quiet man, so he doesn't say a word, but Hidaka realizes that he's come to settle things regarding Haruo.
Battle of the Women
So, to settle their battle over Haruo, the two decide to play Super Hero II X, a game Hidaka once used to beat the hell out of when he was a beginner. Hidaka attempts to select the super-powerful hidden character Akuma, but fails due to a command error. Ohno, on the other hand, also attempts to select Akuma, but fails due to a command error. Hidaka wasn't the only one shaken up; Ohno was as well. For both of them, this was a battle they couldn't afford to lose.
There's no way I could take advantage of him.
Starting afresh, Hidaka chose Akuma. On the other hand, Ohno chose Zangief, considered extremely unfavorable. Hidaka steadily wore down Ohno with a barrage of Zankuu Hado attacks, preventing him from getting close. However, Ohno patiently endured, exploiting Hidaka's mental weaknesses, landing precise Koma Nage throws, and ultimately winning with superhuman skill. It was a great match, but the final blow was a bit heartbreaking.

When Haruo was in elementary school, he reunited with Ohno, who had transferred to a school overseas. However, the opportunity to get revenge on her never came. However, during his free time on the school trip, Haruo participated in a Street Fighter II tournament and discovered that Ohno was also competing.
Finals
The two players steadily advanced and faced off in the finals. Haruo put everything he had learned so far into his fight to be able to compete on equal terms with Ohno. The match was a close one, but Haruo felt something was off about Ohno's movements. After a fierce battle, Haruo defeated Ohno and won the championship, but immediately discovered that the punch button on Ohno's machine had stopped working.

Unable to contain his feelings for Haruo, Hidaka finally confesses his feelings to him. However, Ohno is a big presence inside Haruo, and Hidaka knows there's no room for him there. Still, unwilling to give up, Hidaka accepts a rematch with Haruo on one condition: if he loses, he'll step aside quietly, but if he wins, he'll go out with me.
A Battle We Can't Lose
By the time of the showdown, Hidaka had been training hard with the hardcore players from Mizonokuchi. Haruo, on the other hand, had also been training hard, and the two were fully prepared for the match. The two continued to fight back and forth in a three-game match, with the first to win two titles winning. Hidaka won in Samurai Spirits and Haruo won in King of Fighters 95, so the final match was decided in Vampire Hunter.
There Can Only Be One Winner
In the first round, Haruo Bishamon closed the distance with Hidaka Phobos and won with a Demon Neck Spin. In the second round, Hidaka won with a quick Confuse. In the final round, Hidaka Confuses Haruo, but Haruo avoids an instant death with a series of strong kicks. In the end, Haruo wins with an EX Kien Slash from Haruo Bishamon, who reacts to his small kick.

Realizing his feelings for Ohno, Haruo resolves to win and confess his feelings. However, Ohno has already decided to go overseas, and he is shaken and quickly eliminated. Nevertheless, Ohno manages to climb back up from the losers' bracket, and the battle to finally settle their feud begins.
The Final Battle
The two's battle was a fierce one, a clash of willpower, determination, and skill. Of course, there is always a winner and a loser in a battle. This battle was no exception. However, I won't reveal the outcome. You'll have to see the outcome of the final battle for yourself!
