"Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun" is currently being serialized in Weekly Shonen Champion. The first season of the anime aired in 2019, and the second season will begin airing in April 2021. This time, we'll introduce characters from the first season and those who will be playing an active role in the second season.
Iruma Suzuki, a human boy sold by his parents, voiced by Ayumu Murase
A poor boy who was sold to the demon Sullivan by his worthless parents and brought to the demon world. However, in the demon world, he is doted on by the demon Sullivan and ends up attending Babylon, the demon school where the demon Sullivan serves as chairman. Despite growing up being manipulated by his scumbag parents, he has a completely unadulterated and kind-hearted personality, but because he was manipulated by his scumbag parents growing up, he is also an extremely nice person who cannot refuse a request. Furthermore, because his scumbag parents have put his life in danger more than once or twice, he has acquired incredible crisis-avoidance skills. The protagonist has an attack power of 0 and a defense power of ∞.
Grandpa Demon "Sullivan" (CV: Takaya Kuroda)
This demon bought Iruma-kun with money and brought him to the Demon World. However, his reason for doing so is surprising: "I wanted a grandchild." He's a grandpa who is obsessed with his grandson and spoils Iruma-kun. He also serves as the chairman of the Demon School, Babylon, and uses his connections to get Iruma-kun to attend school. He may seem like a carefree, harmless grandfather who has sworn to never kill anyone, but in reality, he's the most powerful man in the Demon World, known as one of the 13 Crowns.
Iruma-kun's best friend, the elite demon "Asmodeus Alice" CV: Ryohei Kimura
The eldest son of the prestigious Asmodeus family, he is an elite demon and the top student in his class at the Demon School. At first, he was hostile towards Iruma-kun, who had usurped his position as freshman representative, but after Iruma-kun landed a German suplex on him, he became enamored with him and began to accompany him. He is a talented scholar and athlete, and is skilled in fire-controlling magic. She's usually calm and cold, but when she's with Iruma, she becomes like a gentle servant and becomes emotional when he's around.
The Rare Heroine of the Problem Child Class: "Valac Clara" CV: Ayaka Asai
A girl in Iruma's class. She has a very elusive personality and is very volatile. She acts on impulse and in unexpected ways, so those around her treat her like a rare animal. Her family ability is "summoning," which allows her to summon anything she has seen. However, her eccentric personality prevents her from making friends, and the few who do pay her attention are only taking advantage of her powers. Meanwhile, she becomes attached to Iruma-kun, who plays with her without any ulterior motives, and they soon become friends.
Naberius Karuego, the strict teacher in the problem children's class, voiced by Daisuke Ono
A teacher at the Demon School, he is later thrust into the role of homeroom teacher for the problem children's class. He is cold-hearted, sly, strict, proud, and harsh towards his students, but he is surprisingly caring and has excellent abilities and leadership skills. He is summoned by Iruma-kun during a familiar summoning ritual and becomes his familiar. However, he is bedridden for several days and is also made the homeroom teacher of a class of problem children, which has led to him hating Iruma-kun. After being summoned by Iruma-kun, he looks like a chick, but his strength remains unchanged.
The troublemaker of the problem children class: "Sabnock Saburo" Voiced by Takuya Sato
A troublemaker who was sent to a class of problem children after assaulting a teacher shortly after entering school. She aims to become the Demon King because it's cool, and her arrogant personality and short-sighted thinking often cause her trouble with others. However, if you look at her grades, she's an excellent student, excelling in both academics and sports. Her short-sighted actions put her in a desperate situation, but she's saved by Iruma-kun, and she's since become more thoughtful. Her family ability is "Weapon Creation," allowing her to create weapons made from the same material as the substance she's chewing.
Student Council President of the Demon School, "Azazel Ameri" CV: Saori Hayami
A talented student, excelling in both academics and sports, who serves as the student council president of the Demon School, Babylon. She plots to quickly discover and confirm that Iruma-kun is human from information in a book passed down in her family. The book is a shoujo manga set in the human world, and although she cannot read the words, she has a girlish side to her, as she is enthralled by its contents. After a series of events, she ends up having Iruma-kun explain the contents of the shoujo manga and read it aloud, and is almost certain that Iruma-kun is human, but she ignores it because she wants to read the rest of the shoujo manga and is beginning to have feelings for Iruma-kun.
Magical Tool Research Division Leader "Ami Kiriwo" CV: Ryota Osaka
A third-year student at the Demon School Babylon. A handsome demon with glasses who speaks Kyoto dialect and belongs to the Magical Tool Research Division, he is shunned due to his frail constitution and limited magical power. He hits it off with Iruma-kun and is happy that he became a member of the Magical Tool Research Division. However, his true nature is a crazy personality that gets excited when others are twisted in despair, and he is a demon who has returned to his roots and is filled with unfathomable madness. In order to plunge all the students of Babylon into despair, he plots to cause a massive explosion involving all the students and staff, but Iruma-kun thwarts him at the last moment and he is arrested. He later escapes from prison and is currently missing.
Ring of Gluttony (Alicred/Ali-san)
This being is endowed with a will thanks to Iruma-kun's Ring of Gluttony. Initially, he lacks a sense of self, but after Iruma-kun's rank rises, he awakens to a sense of self and begins calling himself Alicred. Iruma-kun calls him Ali-san. It is apparently unusual for an Ali-san to have a will of their own. Incidentally, the previous Demon King's name was Delkira, and if you read "ARIKURED" backwards, it becomes "DERUKIRA."
Sullivan's Chamberlain "Opera" CV: Mitsuki Saiga
A chamberlain who serves Sullivan, she wears cat ears and a tailcoat and supports Sullivan. Her gender is unknown. She is calm and collected, and has a sharp tongue. While generally loyal to Sullivan, she can be blunt in certain situations. She has a senior-junior relationship with Naberius and Balam, teachers of Babylon, and even Naberius is in awe of her.
