The Quinx were created in the hopes of creating an investigator who could surpass Arima Kishou, the CCC's pride and joy. "Quinx" is a group of test subjects created to defeat "ghouls," non-human entities with human forms. As you watch the anime Tokyo Ghoul:re, I'd like to take a closer look at the Quinx squad.
What exactly are Quinx?

"A soldier with a Quinque built into his body." Quinques are weapons made from the kagune of ghouls and used by ghoul investigators to exterminate ghouls. By undergoing Quinx treatment and having it built into his body, he is able to cover the disadvantage of Quinques not being able to change shape, and gain the high physical abilities of a ghoul.
When kagune is activated

When kagune is activated, only one eye becomes kagune like a half-ghoul (Qs is a tone, which is a difference in depiction). They seem to be very similar to half-ghouls, but unlike ghouls, they can eat normally. However, once the Rc value exceeds 1000, it seems that normal food becomes impossible to eat. Incidentally, the Rc value of a ghoul is between 1000 and 8000, and humans also have it in trace amounts, with the standard value being around 250 to 500. A high Rc value can be said to be a direct reflection of a ghoul's strength.
What is Quinx Treatment?

Also known as the "Kakuhou Implant Method." Jigyo Ko-B was inspired by Kano's "Semi-Ghoul Treatment," and the process is adapted from Quinque manufacturing.
What makes it different from a Quinque is that the kakushou extracted from the "ghoul" is coated with Quinque steel and "planted" inside the body instead of in a "case." The planted "kakushou" has a "frame" with "five stages" that allows the operating rate of the "kakushou" to be adjusted, in order to monitor the progress more efficiently and with less risk.
Quinx Gate

As a result, everyone except Sasaki has a gate of "F2 (Frame 2)" and their kagune is set to 40% operation rate. If you raise the level of your "frame", you can use a more powerful kagune. If the "frame" comes off, it is called a "frame out." By the way, it seems that those who receive Quinx treatment are guaranteed a semi-permanent life even after they quit being ghoul investigators.
Abilities as a Quinx

At the "F2" stage, the operation rate is 40%, which is less than half of the ability, so even the highly defensive armor is fragile enough to be destroyed by a kick. However, the power of the kagune seems to vary depending on the quality of the person who receives the treatment, and Saiko's rinkaku has been fatal to an S-rank ghoul. The more wounded they are, the stronger their physical abilities become, and some of their five senses also develop.
Differences between Quinx and Ghouls
1. The Rc cell value, which is important for kagune, is lower than that of a ghoul, 2. The power of the kagune is limited by the Quinque steel, 3. The risk of going berserk at the F4 stage, 4. The duration of the kagune, 5. The five senses are only partially enhanced, etc. In reality, their abilities are inferior to those of half-ghouls.
What is Frame Out?
Source: Tokyo Ghoul © Ishida Sui / Shueisha, Tokyo Ghoul:re Production Committee
The frame disappears due to a sudden rise in Rc value and the release of F4 or more several times, and the person becomes a ghoul. Both eyes become red eyes and their feeding habits change. If a ghoulized Quinx goes berserk, they will be exterminated as an S-class ghoul, just like Sasaki. The ironic result of the experiment was that humans equipped with anti-ghoul annihilation weapons turned into ghouls. (However, the CCG had previously experimented with ghoulification, so it may be considered a success.)
Development of Technology
"Quinx Treatment" was developed by Kano, who invented the "half-ghoulification treatment", who borrowed the technique from Shirazu's corpse, and in the Rujima arc, a large number of Kano-made quinxes appeared. This was far more than the number who passed the CCG's aptitude test, and it can be said that the technology to mass-produce suitable humans and safely turn them into ghouls was completely established, with the success rate of the half-ghoulification treatment being 0.25%.
