During the Orochi battle, he protected Mutsuki and advised his squad leader Urie to retreat, saying, "If we die, there's nothing we can do," prioritizing the safety of his comrades over the mission. This was appreciated by Sasaki, and after the battle with Orochi, he was appointed the new leader of the Quinx Squad. After becoming leader, he showed his caring side by waking Saiko up every morning and carrying her to the CCG meeting.

Haunted by nightmares of Nutcracker and his father, his enthusiasm as an investigator becomes passive, unlike before. During a surprise attack by a small group of members of Aogiri Tree, he is trapped by Nutcracker's curse and is unable to use his Quinque. Afterwards, after being scolded by Urie (?) and hearing from his senior investigators, he shaved his head to get motivated.

Overcoming Trauma

In the Tsukiyama sweep, he overcomes the trauma of the Nutcracker in order to defeat Noro. However, it doesn't work on Noro, so he sacrifices himself to avoid the onslaught and protect his comrades.

After freeing his frame on his own (his red eyes turn into normal ghouls') and leaving the final blow to Urie, he is pierced through the abdomen and receives a fatal wound. As he dies, he asks Urie to euthanize his sister, and dies with Saiko and him by his side. He was the first member of the QS team to die in the line of duty, and his body was stolen by the Aogiri Tree.

The car transporting Shirazu's body was attacked and taken by the Aogiri Tree. Kano dissected it and stole the mechanism of Quinx technology. After this, Dr. Kano asks Naki if it would be ok to bring back Gagi and Guge, who died protecting Naki, to life in a way. This statement is also meaningful, but it suggests that they will be used in some way to put into practice the Quinx technology that was analyzed from Shirazu's body.

Just before his death, Shirazu tells Urie and the others, "Please kill my sister." This was Shirazu's last thoughtfulness, to avoid the burden of having to pay for his sister's medical expenses on his friends.

Where will the medical expenses go?

If someone becomes a special agent, they can continue to pay the medical expenses indefinitely. Urie and the others seem to understand Shirazu's feelings, but they continue to earn money for her medical expenses on her behalf.

Treatment in progress

Currently, there is no cure for Rc cell hypersecretion syndrome, and the only thing that can be done is to slow its progression by administering medicine. Kano's presence is essential to cure this condition.

Kano is currently working with Aogiri Tree, but his exact purpose is not yet clear. If Kano comes to the CCG side in some way, whether by capture or betrayal, there may be a chance that Haru will be cured. Urie and the others are currently fighting on Rushima, Aogiri's home base, but we should also keep an eye on Kano's movements and Haru's fate.

As mentioned above, Shirazu's body was taken by the Aogiri Tree. At the grave, Urie vows, "I will get the body back no matter what." After all, since he made the effort to mention the body here, I expect that we will encounter Shirazu's body or kagune in some way in the future. The stolen body was used as an experimental material by Kanou, but what happened to it after that?

Research material for Aogiri Tree

Even after his use as a research material to acquire Quinx technology is over, Shirazu is a strong ghoul investigator with a kagune. It seems that Aogiri may find him useful in some way.

How to use the body

As mentioned above, it is not impossible to use Shirazu's kagune to create a new half-ghoul, or even to resurrect him. In any case, the body is in Kanou's hands, so it seems unlikely that he will just abandon it.

CCG's Furuta and Kano

Recent developments have revealed that Furuta of the CCG seems to be connected to Kano. The full picture of what these "V" are has yet to be revealed, but it was Furuta who guided them to take Shirazu's body. Who is connected to whom, and who is the real enemy? Will they be able to "recover" Shirazu's body in some way? We'll have to keep an eye on this in the future.

Name: Higemaru Touma

A ghoul investigator belonging to the new Quinx Squad, characterized by pink hair. He has a very proactive personality.
A scholarship student from the First Academy Junior, he was found to have Quinx aptitude before entering the academy and underwent the procedure. Like Ui Gun, his family is wealthy and seems to be quite a distinguished family. The Higemaru family has many relatives who work in life-saving jobs such as the Self-Defense Forces, police, and fire departments, and he himself grew up surrounded by such people, so he has a strong sense of justice.

An investigator belonging to the new Quinx squad. She lived in Taiwan during her childhood, and her English name is Jeannie Xiao. She received an elite education at the White Sun Garden, and has outstanding talent second only to Heil. She is said to be second to none in bare-handed sparring, in particular. In fact, she holds the same rank as her squad leader, Urie, as a first-class investigator, and has received the White Single Wing Award, so she appears to be quite skilled.

Shinzo Yasuura

An investigator belonging to the new Quinx Squad. He is the nephew (younger sister's son) of Special Investigator Yasuura Kiyoko. He is a scholarship student from the Seventh Academy Junior, but although he has talent, his grades at the academy were not so good. He has a good relationship with his aunt Kiyoko, and they often eat together. However, after she was defeated by the One-Eyed King and lost both her legs, she began to hate the king. After studying under Mutsuki, she became more aggressive, and was transferred from Uriue's team during the Clown subjugation battle.
