The Devil is a Part-Timer! is an anime based on a light novel that aired in 2013. Perhaps because it was a new series at the time and there wasn't much original material, each episode was carefully crafted, resulting in considerable popularity. While a second season was anticipated, there was no word on the first season, and then a sudden announcement was made that the second season would begin airing in July 2022! Character #1: Sadao Maoku (Demon Lord Satan Jacob)
The protagonist of the series. The Demon King of the other world, Ente Isla, united his demons to invade the human world and plot to conquer the world. However, just before he was about to conquer the world, the hero Emilia suddenly appeared, driving the Demon King's army into a state of devastation. He then attempted to flee to the other world with his confidant, Al Ciel, but in the other world he escaped to, he found himself in modern-day Tokyo, Japan, where the concept of magic is virtually nonexistent, and he had transformed from a demon into a human. Despite facing various issues, including family registry, housing, and language barriers, he somehow managed to obtain family registry and housing, and while working part-time at the hamburger shop "Magronald's" and living poorly in a rundown apartment, he is trying to make a comeback.
Character #2: Ashiya Shiro (Ar Ciel)
He is one of the Demon King Satan's absolute trusted officers, and the only subordinate who traveled to modern-day Japan with the Demon King after the Demon King's defeat by the hero Emilia. He generally treats everyone with courtesy, but he can be harsh with Emi, who is an enemy and always badmouths the Demon King, and Urushibara, who is a total nuisance. Initially, they worked together, but now he is a housewife, responsible for cooking, cleaning, and laundry.
Character #3: Emi Yusa (Emilia Justina)
A hero who brought the Demon King's army to the brink of destruction. With unerring command of the Holy Spirit and the "Better Half" sword, she defeated the Demon King's top officials one after another, nearly defeating Satan. However, when the Demon King attempted to escape using a gate, she pursued him. She then found herself in a lonely situation in modern-day Japan, with nothing but the bare bones. However, with the power of magic, she managed to adapt to modern life and now lives in a single-person apartment while working part-time at a telemarketing center. Although she is excellent at her job and trusted by her friends, she harbors an unparalleled hatred for the Demon King who burned down her hometown, becoming merciless and unreserved. She has complicated feelings about the Demon King, as he turns out not to be the cruel and ruthless person she imagined him to be, and they often end up working together.
Character #4: Chiho Sasaki
A high school girl working part-time at the same part-time job as Mako at the Magronald's Hataya Station store. She admires Mako and develops feelings for him. While she represents the average person in this work, she becomes embroiled in an incident involving another world after receiving a "concept transmission" from Ente Isla. She is the only local who learns about the other world, including the Demon King and the Hero, early on, and even when she gets caught up in an incident, she actively engages with Maou and Emi. She's gentle and good at reacting, but her strong-willed nature gradually allows her to adapt to rough situations. She has the largest breasts in the series.
Character #5: Kamazuki Suzuno (Crestia Bell)
A kimono-clad woman suddenly moves into the apartment next door to Maou. She's polite, but lacks common sense and is a bit of a worldly person. Her true identity is Crestia Bell, the Chief Inquisitor of the Council for Reform of the Great Law God Church of Ente Isla. Her mission was to eliminate the Demon King and return to Ente Isla with Emi. However, after witnessing the Demon King's character with her own eyes, she, like Emi Yusa, began to worry about how to respond. After witnessing the Church's assassination attempt on Emi and the ruthless actions of the Heavenly Assassins, she eventually sided with Maou and the others, becoming a good neighbor. However, she generally maintains her stance that Maou is an enemy.
Character ⑥: Urushibara Hanzo (Lucifer)
One of the Four Heavenly Kings of the Demon King's army. He was a subordinate of Satan, but was defeated by the hero Emilia and went missing. In fact, she survived by colluding with Orba Meyer of the Hero's Party, and thereafter began working with Orba on the condition that she be allowed to return to Heaven. After her assassination plot against the Demon King and the Hero failed and she was beaten up by Maou and his men, she became a freeloader at Maou's apartment, but became a NEET who ate free meals and surfed the internet all day.
Character #7: Rika Suzuki
Emi's colleague and the only person in this world not related to Maou who could be considered Emi's friend. She has a bright personality and is a reliable person for Emi, helping her out when she gets caught up in trouble. However, when she learns of Emi's unusual relationship with Maou, she can also become overly nosy. During this time, she meets Ashiya Shiro and develops feelings for him.
Character #8: Mayumi Kizaki
A cool beauty and highly capable manager of the McRonald's Hataya Ekimae store, 26 years old. Maou respects her and she is a reliable woman, both as a boss at work and as a mentor in life. He's usually a reliable character, but for some reason he views rival store Sentucky as a fierce rival, and becomes a slightly different person when Sentucky is involved.
Character #9: Sarue Mitsuki (Sariel)
He disguised himself as Sentucky's manager, Sarue Mitsuki, in an attempt to retrieve the Tengin coins that Emi had. He's a womanizer and a narcissist. He boasts unparalleled strength against those who manipulate sacred energy, thanks to his "Fallen Angel's Evil Eye Light," which nullifies sacred energy and causes angels to fall from heaven. He easily captures Emi and attempts to retrieve the Tengin, but he is no match for demons who use magical powers. He is beaten up by Maou, who rushes to the scene, and thrown into a randomly opened gate. However, he is transported to a McDonald's refrigerator, where he is hacked by the crew. He falls in love at first sight with the store manager, Kizaki, and begins to stalk her.

Here's a summary of the characters who appeared in Season 1 of The Devil is a Part-Timer!!! These characters will naturally play an important role in Season 2, and new characters appearing in Season 2 will also play a major role in the story.
