The third season of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime is finally airing, and it features a large number of unique characters. Even in the movies and spin-off works, there are characters who do not appear in the TV series. It is the voice actors who make these characters shine. I believe that the voice actors are a major factor in whether a work will be great and whether it will be well received by the audience. In this article, I would like to once again introduce some carefully selected members of the cast.
Rimuru Tempest CV: Okazaki Miho
First, I would like to introduce Okazaki Miho, who is the voice of the main character, Rimuru Tempest. The reason why Okazaki decided to seriously pursue a career as a voice actor was when she appeared on "NHK Nodo Jiman" during her high school days and became the champion, and was advised by King Records director Mishima Akio, who was accompanying guest Mizuki Nana, that "If you are serious about becoming a voice actor, you should attend a training school." After that, she graduated from the Japan Narration Acting Institute.
With "TenSura" since her first starring role
She made her voice acting debut in 2017, and in 2018 she was cast as Rimuru Tempest. It was her first starring role, so it must have been tough, but she probably didn't expect it to become a long-running series. After the first season, she was in charge of reading the novel version on Audible by herself, and she started working on the second season while also working on other events. Before the third season, there was a movie version and a spin-off, and she said in an interview that she has been involved with "TenSura" since 2018.
In April, she will also be appearing in works other than "TenSura"
In an interview, Okazaki said that the characters she would like to play as a voice actor are a boy and a non-human. Although her dream came true with Rimuru, she will play a boy in "Reincarnated Nobleman, Rising to Power with Appraisal Skills," scheduled to air in April, the same month as "TenSura," and a non-human in "THE NEW GATE." In April, keep an eye on Okazaki, who will be making her dreams come true with both "TenSura" and "TenSura."
Benimaru (CV: Furukawa Makoto)
Furukawa, who became interested in voice acting when he saw Hiiro Yuy in "Mobile Suit Gundam Wing" played by Midorikawa Hikaru, made his debut as an amateur voice actor in 2009 as Sadius in the RPG game "Golden Bonds". His professional debut was in 2011 as Yoshino Satoshi in the web anime "Armed Junior High School Student". After that, he worked part-time as a motion actor for games, and in 2013, he made his first starring role in a TV anime as Tada Banri in "Golden Time".
What is Furukawa's signature work?
Furukawa's role as Saitama in "One Punch Man" is what made him famous, and it is considered one of his signature works. In an interview, Furukawa said that Saitama's charm is the gap between his normal everyday personality and his serious fighting mode. Other popular roles among fans include Ronald from "The Vampire Dies in No Time" and Shirogane Miyuki from "Kaguya-sama: Love Is War".
Shuna (Shuna) CV: Senbongi Sayaka
Since her first role as the heroine Mumei in "Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress" broadcast in 2016, she has been active in various voice actresses. She is a voice actress who made her senior in the same agency, Uchida Maaya, who also appeared in "Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress", say, "An amazing girl has appeared."
Her talent as a voice actress is real!
In Tensura, she plays Shuna, one of the heroines. Shuna is the princess of the Ooni tribe, intelligent and very cute in appearance, but she is also a strong-willed person who can get angry even if the other person is Rimuru, other demon lords Milim and Veldora. Senbongi-san, who plays Shuna, is also playing Marsil in "Dungeon Meshi" this season, and when she sees monster food, she screams "Nooooooo!" with a terrible expression on her face. As you watch, you can hear the sound of Shuna's image being destroyed, and you can really see how amazing Senbongi-san is in playing such different types of characters.
Shion (Shion) cv. M・A・O (Mao)
First, she debuted as an actor, performing under her real name, Ichimichi Mao. When she made her voice acting debut in 2014 as Kirakira in "Cooking Idol Ai! Mai! Main!", she performed under the name M・A・O, and has continued to work as a voice actress to this day. Even now, when she works as an actor, she is active under the name Ichimichi Mao, but since the number of voice acting jobs has increased since around 2014, she is now mainly active as a voice actress.
Perfect for Shion's image
If you look into it, you will see that M.A.O's acting skills are really wide, and she has played a variety of roles from main characters to nameless characters. In terms of special effects, she has conquered the three major special effects drama series: the Sentai series, the Kamen Rider series, and the Ultraman series. I think many people think that Shion, played by M.A.O, is a perfect fit for the character's image. She is usually bright and absent-minded, but I think that the bravery she shows when fighting against opponents who are hostile to Rimuru is unique to M.A.O.
Souei (Aokage) cv. Eguchi Takuya
When you think of Eguchi Takuya, the first character that comes to mind is probably Lloyd Forger in SPY×FAMILY. The series is very popular, and Eguchi's portrayal of Lloyd Forger is wonderful. In 2023, he won both the Leading Role Award and the MVS Award at the 17th Seiyuu Awards, so you can see how much Eguchi's Lloyd is loved.
Souei, the Capable Man
Souei's main role is covert activities, so he seems to be one step behind Benimaru and Shion, but I think Eguchi's influence is a big part of his presence. In an interview with Eguchi, he said that playing a slightly different Souei in "TenSura Diary" broadened the scope of Souei. I think we'll be able to see an even broader Souei in the third season. I'm looking forward to seeing Souei, the Capable Man.
Hakurou (Shiraoi) CV: Otsuka Houchuu
Otsuka-san is known for dubbing Hollywood movies and foreign dramas, as well as narrating news and variety shows. I think that not only anime fans, but also a wide range of people who don't watch much anime know Otsuka-san's voice. Otsuka-san describes his voice as "from low, deep, and full of flavor to high, shouting madness." He is a talented voice actor who can play a wide range of roles.
A voice actor with a unique style!
Otsuka himself says that he is a voice actor with a unique style. He has been called "Hochu-style" since he was in his 20s, and he used to be criticized for it. However, now he is being offered roles because of his "Hochu-style", and it is impressive that he told Morikubo Shoutarou, "I like voice actors with unique styles." In the third season, unexpected facts about Hakurou, played by Otsuka, will be revealed. Please watch the anime to find out.
Ranga (Ranga) CV: Kobayashi Chikahiro
After joining the drama club at university, he became fascinated with the fun of acting, and after graduating from university, he worked for a year to save up money and entered the En Theater Institute in 2007. He continued to work as an actor, but in 2012, he started working as a voice actor after dubbing a Korean drama, and in 2013, he made his debut as an anime voice actor in "Mushibugyo". At first, he struggled with trial and error, but when Otsuka Akio told him, "You're really good at acting! You should just keep going!", he was able to move in the direction of his current natural acting, which is said to be "raw".
The turning point was "Golden Kamuy"
Kobayashi's turning point as a voice actor was when he passed the audition for the lead role of Sugimoto Saichi in "Golden Kamuy". Kenjiro Tsuda, who also appears in "Golden Kamuy", is a senior and junior in the same theater company, and he says that being told "I like you" by Tsuda gave him confidence. I'm looking forward to seeing Kobayashi Ranga in the third season, who plays Ranga, who is always by Rimuru's side, in a natural way.
Diablo CV: Sakurai Takahiro
The characters Sakurai plays are calm, have problems, are elusive, but are important. However, in reality, he has played a wide range of roles, including boys, girls, prince-like protagonists, hot-blooded characters, and mascots. His debut was in 1996's "Bakusou Kyodai Let's & Go!!", and he has a long career as a voice actor.
Looking forward to Diablo's performance!
Diablo appeared in an important scene in the middle of the second season where Rimuru fights the 20,000-strong Farmus army, but he will play an even more active role in the third season. Although in a different direction, Diablo worships Rimuru just like Adalman and has incredible power, but he is a bit different from his other companions. I'm really looking forward to seeing how Sakurai will play him.
Luminous Valentine cv.Lynn (Rin)
She was inspired to become a voice actor after learning that Yamaguchi Kappei was playing Kudo Shinichi from "Detective Conan" and Inuyasha from "Inuyasha". She also stated that Inuyasha is the character she "fell in love with". Lynn's hobby is horse racing, and since playing the role of Maruzensky in Uma Musume Pretty Derby, she has been appearing more often in horse racing-related programs and events.
Full appearance in season 3
最終話にて、ついに喋ったルミナスさまのCVを担当させていただきました!
#転スラ https://t.co/2wPloym8vV— Lynn (りん) (@Lynn_0601_) September 22, 2021
Luminous made her first appearance towards the end of season 2, but the first time she spoke was in the final episode. At the time, Lynn posted on X, "Luminous-sama finally spoke." Luminous also appeared in the side story "The Dream of Corius" that aired after that, and will be one of the important characters in season 3. I'm looking forward to seeing Luminous played by Lynn.
Hinata Sakaguchi (CV: Manami Numakura)
She made her voice acting debut in 2008 with the game "The Idolmaster SP," and her anime debut was the following year with "Gintama." When she was in high school, she borrowed a drama CD from a friend who liked anime and listened to it, and "I learned about a job where you express everything in a world where there is only sound, using only your voice, and I really admired people like that," which was what inspired her to become a voice actress.
Hinata Sakaguchi's powerful presence
In the first season, Hinata only appeared as a figure, but in the second season, she appeared in a showdown with Rimuru. Numakura-san said that she valued Hinata's presence and wanted to portray Hinata, who doesn't change her expression much but is not emotionless, with delicate acting. I'm looking forward to seeing how Numakura-san will portray Hinata, who is actually a very talkative character, in the third season.
Granbell Rosso cv. Daisuke Ono
Daisuke Ono will be playing Granbell Rosso, a new character who will appear in the third season. After making his voice acting debut in 2002 as Kobayashi in "Full Metal Panic!", he struggled as a voice actor until he made his breakthrough in 2006 as Koizumi Itsuki in "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya". Now he is a talented voice actor with such a wide range of roles that he is described as "the best voice actor in the world."
This time he plays the role of an elder
Ono, who has played a wide range of roles from cool handsome men to hot-blooded, silent tough guys, will play the elder who is the head of the Rosso clan that rules the Siltrozzo Kingdom. Granpel Rosso also has another side to him, and I'm really looking forward to seeing how Ono will play him.
Mariabelle Rosso cv.Minase Inori (Minase Inori)
Mariabelle Rosso, one of the new characters and a 10-year-old princess of the country of Siltrozzo, is played by Minase Inori. She is ranked high in the popularity voice actor rankings, and is said to have a wide range of acting skills as a voice actor. She has played a variety of roles, and recently she has played not only heroines but also various characters, from the magical girl in "Sasaki and Pee-chan" to the cheerful psychopathic murderer girl in "Deadmount Deathplay".
Mariabell is not an ordinary girl
This time, I will be playing the granddaughter of Grandpel Rosso, who is not even 10 years old, but she is not an ordinary girl. She is a reincarnated person like Rimuru, and she is a girl who aims to rule the current world using the knowledge and skills she had before her reincarnation. I am looking forward to seeing how Minase will play the quirky Mariabell Rosso.
Damurada CV: Namikawa Daisuke
Another new character, Damrada, whose information has been released, is Namikawa Daisuke. He became a popular voice actor by dubbing the lead roles in popular works such as "E.T.", "The Neverending Story" and "The Goonies" since he was a child actor, but due to various reasons he distanced himself from the entertainment industry for a while. His passion for dubbing returned after he appeared in "Romeo + Juliet" starring Leonardo DiCaprio, and despite various experiences, he is still active today.
A talented actor with ambitious career ambitions
Having been active since he was a child actor, he has a long career as an actor and is genuinely talented. He has a wide range of roles and can handle almost any character. I'm sure you all know that he took over the role of Goemon Ishikawa from Makio Inoue in the Lupin III series, but he is still a talented voice actor who does dubbing work today. Be sure to pay attention to the mysterious Damrada, a merchant from the East, played by Namikawa.
Summary of the cast introduction
This time, we introduced the voice actors who will be playing the main characters, the central characters of the third season, and the new characters whose information has been released. There are many other attractive characters in TenSura. And the world of TenSura is created by just that many voice actors. I think the third season will also deliver a wonderful world of TenSura. Thank you for reading to the end.
