The third season of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime will finally begin airing in April 2024. I'm sure fans of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime have been waiting for this for a long time. This is a work that even those who haven't yet experienced the world of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime should definitely check out. It has been adapted into a media mix, so it will be available in a variety of media. If you're interested, try experiencing the world of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime before the third season airs. Regarding information about the third season, it has been announced that it will be broadcast over two consecutive seasons, and key visuals, teasers, and promotional videos have been released. Based on the promotional videos, I would like to introduce some of the new characters that will be appearing this time. I will also introduce some of the characters who are likely to appear early on, following the flow from the second season, as well as the central characters, so I hope you will read on.

A Quick Review of Season 2

Before introducing the new characters, let's briefly review Season 2. Season 1 began with Rimuru returning to Tempest after saving the reincarnated children in the Kingdom of Ingrassia, which was Shizu's regret.

Hinata Sakaguchi's Attack

On Tempest's return journey, Hinata Sakaguchi attacked her. Hinata had been falsely informed that Rimuru had killed Shizu, and had set out alone to defeat him. At this point, the difference in strength between Rimuru and Hinata was overwhelming, and Rimuru could only manage to pretend to be defeated and escape. The time lost in this battle led to the tragedy that followed.

Invasion of the Farmus Kingdom

While Rimuru and Hinata were fighting, the Farmus Kingdom sent three reincarnated people and soldiers to attack Tempest. Many civilians, including Shion, were killed or injured during the attack. In order to revive the fallen Shion and the others, Rimuru decided to become an awakened Demon Lord himself. He massacred 20,000 Farmus troops marching toward Tempest, and used them as a sacrifice to awaken as a Demon Lord. He then revived his fallen comrades and freed the Storm Dragon Veldora.

Clayman's Ambition

Taking advantage of the battle between Tempest and Farmus, Demon Lord Clayman plots his plan. First, he takes mental control of Demon Lord Milim and forces her to eliminate Demon Lord Karion. He then plans to hold the Walpurgis feast for Demon Lords and eliminate Rimuru at that time. He then plans to use his own army to massacre the inhabitants of Eurazania during Walpurgis and become an awakened Demon Lord. However, Clayman's forces are defeated by Rimuru's army led by Benimaru, leaving Milim uncontrolled and Karion alive and well. Clayman's plot is completely exposed. In the end, he was completely destroyed in a one-on-one battle with Rimuru, and Rimuru was officially recognized as the Demon Lord.

Birth of the Eight Star Demon Lords (Octagram)

After watching the battle between Clayman and Rimuru, Karion and Frey decided to resign as Demon Lords and join Milim. With the number of Demon Lords now reduced to eight, the name of the Ten Great Demon Lords was changed to the Eight Star Demon Lords (Octagram), and Walpurgis Worlds came to an end. Season 2 ended with Rimuru and his companions returning to Tempest as Demon Lords. Season 3 will continue the story from this point on.

Holy vs. Demonic Conflict Arc

As those who have seen the teaser or trailer know, the third season begins with the battle between the Jura Tempest Federation and the Holy Empire of Ruberios. This corresponds to the "Holy vs. Demonic Conflict Arc" in the original manga, and Hinata Sakaguchi will be a central character in this arc. Hinata appeared in the second season, but only briefly in battles with Rimuru and driving back Laplace, who had invaded Ruberios. However, I think it's fair to say that the story of the third season will revolve around Hinata. This time, I'd like to introduce Hinata Sakaguchi once again.

Originally a Reincarnated Person

Hinata is a reincarnated person from Japan. She was Shizu's student along with Yuuki Kagurazaka. However, she felt that Shizu's teachings would not allow her to achieve her ideals, and she left him. She then joined the Order of Holy Knights with the goal of becoming a Holy Knight, eventually rising to the position of Commander. During this time, she learned the truth about the Luminous religion, but believed that Luminous' existence would help her realize her ideals. Through her own trials and hard work, she became one of the Ten Great Saints, known as the "Right Hand of God," and praised as the strongest swordsman in the Western World.

Who is Hinata Sakaguchi?!

With her striking, short, black hair and narrow eyes, Hinata exudes a cold-hearted beauty. While she can be as stubborn and cold-hearted as she appears, she is also well-liked and loved by her subordinates in the Holy Knights. Above all, she enjoys the utmost trust and affection of Luminas. Another surprising aspect of Hinata is her love of delicious food. We're sure to see a different side of her in Season 3.

The leader of the Ten Great Saints!

The Ten Great Saints are ten people who have been bestowed the title of saint by Pope Louis Valentine, with Hinata Sakaguchi at the top of the group. The remaining nine are three from the Pope's Royal Guard, of which Hinata serves as lead knight, and six from the Holy Knights, of which Hinata serves as captain. We will introduce the Ten Great Saints below.

(Rook Genius)

The Imperial Guard Division under the Emperor's direct command is a division that pledges loyalty only to God and the Emperor. It is composed of those who have been bestowed the title of "Rook" by the Emperor, and their individual strength is said to be on a heroic level. Among them, three outstanding individuals have reached the rank of immortal, known as the "Three Warrior Immortals," and are the representatives of the Imperial Guard Division under the Emperor's direct command. Let us introduce these "Three Warrior Immortals."

Sale

Also known as Sale of the Azure Sky. Among the Three Warriors, his skills are the highest in the Imperial Guard Division under the direct command of the Pope. Before Hinata became the Chief Knight, Sale served as the Chief Knight. As a proud warrior, Sale was not happy that Hinata had taken his place as Chief Knight. As a result, he is confrontational towards Hinata. Here's a slight spoiler: Sale will face off against Diablo. Look forward to seeing what kind of battle they will have.

Gregory

He's Saleh's right-hand man, known as Gregory the Giant Rock. In keeping with his enormous size, his body itself becomes a weapon. His ability, Immovable All Things, allows him to increase the hardness of his body to a level exceeding that of metal. Armed with his exceptional defensive capabilities, he fights with a battle axe and spear, truly living up to his nickname, the Giant Rock. Here's a little spoiler: Gregory will face off against Ranga. Apparently, Gregory loves animals, so it'll be exciting to see how he and Ranga will battle it out.

Glenda Utley

A wild beauty with distinctive red hair, nicknamed Glenda of the Rough Sea. Though she's newer than Hinata, she's a powerful figure who has risen to the rank of one of the Ten Great Saints. In fact, she's a reincarnated person, and in her previous world, she was a mercenary trained in combat techniques. As a result, her fighting style and actions are shrouded in mystery. Here's a little spoiler: she'll confront Diablo alongside Saleh. Keep an eye on Glenda, who seems to have many hidden secrets.

Crusaders

The Holy Knights exist as a military force to carry out the Western Saints Church's doctrine of "the annihilation of monsters." The Holy Knights, consisting of over 300 members, are experts in fighting monsters, and are led by six battalion commanders. All six commanders are members of the Ten Great Saints, and their leader is Hinata Sakaguchi. Let me introduce the six commanders.

Leonard Jester

He serves as the vice-captain of the Crusaders and is known as the Prince of Light. He is a Saint Wizard who has made a contract with the Spirit of Light, but he also possesses first-rate sword skills. He has admired Hinata since his school days, and joined the Holy Knights. Here's a slight spoiler: Leonard will face Shion. Even though he's Clayman before his awakening, Shion's power is so overwhelmingly superior that it will be hard to imagine how he will fare against him.

Arnaud Baumann

Among the six Crusaders' battalion commanders, Arnaud is the second most skilled swordsman after Hinata. In terms of swordsmanship alone, he surpasses his vice-commander, Leonard, but his magical abilities are inferior, and Leonard, a holy mage, wins. Given his nicknames "Arnaud of the Sky" and "Special Attack Commander of the Sky," one might assume he's skilled in aerial combat. Here's a little spoiler: Arnaud will face off against Benimaru. How will he fare against Benimaru, the Tempest samurai general?

Garde

He specializes in the Red Spear, a technique that combines spearmanship and fire elemental magic. He cares for his allies, but he can also be short-tempered. Here's a little spoiler: Garde will confront Shion alongside Leonard. This is where a certain truth is revealed. Keep an eye on the unfortunate saint, Garde.

Bacchus

Nicknamed Bacchus of the Earth, he is a large, silent man who fights using a sacred war club imbued with magic. He pairs well with fellow Sixth Battalion Commander Fritz, and the two excel at teamwork. Here's a little spoiler: Bacchus will face off against the Three Beast Warriors, Sphere and Alvis, alongside Fritz. Stay tuned to see how they combine their skills to fight the Three Beast Warriors.

Fritz

A master of wind magic and dual swordsmanship, he is nicknamed Wind Fritz. Of the six battalion commanders, he worships Hinata the most. Even among the Crusaders, who tend to be free-spirited and serious, he has a cheerful, if nasty, frivolous personality. Because of this, Hinata often gets angry with him. As we previously revealed in the Bacchus section, he will face off against Bacchus, Sphere, and Alvis. While he may seem frivolous, his abilities are undeniable. Be sure to keep an eye on him.

Ritis

Ritis is the only female saint among the six battalion commanders. As her nickname, Water Ritis, suggests, she is an elementalist who made a contract with the Water Saint (Windine) and excels in healing magic rather than combat. Here's a little spoiler: Ritis will face off against Souei. It's a shame that Souei is her opponent, as she's better at healing magic than combat, but it's probably a good one considering the events that follow.

Luminous's Aides

The Demon Lord Luminous Valentine reigns supreme in the Holy Empire of Ruberios, which is in conflict with Tempest. However, Ruberios is a holy land designated by the Western Saints' Church, whose doctrine is the extermination of monsters. As a vampire, Luminous is a fictitious god and does not appear on stage. The Pope is her spokesperson. Those who control Ruberios in place of the fictitious Luminous, including Hinata, serve as her aides, and I would like to introduce them to you now.

Roy Valentine

Roy Valentine was the understudy for Demon Lord Ruminas, playing one of the Ten Great Demon Lords. Known as the Bloody Lord, he served as the understudy for 1,500 years. As those who watched the second season know, Veldora and Milim revealed Ruminas to be the true Demon Lord at the Walpurgis Banquet. Afterward, sensing suspicious activity in Ruberios, Ruminas ordered Roy to return, where he found himself in combat with Laplace. Roy, who had underestimated Laplace, was killed by Laplace.

Louis Valentine

Louis Valentine's twin brother, a character who first appears in Season 3. For 1,500 years, he has maintained the authority of the god Luminous as the Pope of Ruberios. Louis and Roy were originally a single vampire known as the "Blood Overlord," feared by many, but were separated after being defeated by Luminous. While Roy was violent and arrogant, Louis has a completely opposite personality, treating Rimuru as a demon lord.

Gunther

He appeared as Roy Valentine's servant at the Demon Lords' Banquet in Season 3. However, his abilities surpass those of Roy and Louis, and he is the leading vampire among Luminas' "Three Lords." While Roy and Louis openly rule Ruberios, Gunther rules Ruberios' underground city, the Night Garden (Nocturne Palace Garden).

Summary of New Characters

We've introduced the characters of Ruberios, Tempest's opponent in the Holy vs. Demonic War arc. On January 30th, a special program aired, "That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: A Look at 10 Years of Progress and Charm! A Special That'll Make You Can't Wait for Season 3 to Air in April!", revealing information about the Rosso family. We expect other new characters will also be appearing. We can't wait for Season 3 to air in April. Thank you for reading to the end.
