When characters in "Restaurant to Another World" find something they like, they often just keep ordering that dish. In other words, most customers basically order one dish per person. However, in the anime, a new menu appears every week, which means that a new character inevitably appears every episode. (There are as many customers as there are menu items.) So this time, we will introduce the many regulars, staff, and people involved who visit Nekoya.
Owner
The owner actually has no name in the story. Customers call him "Master" or "Owner." He runs a Western restaurant, but he can also make a variety of other dishes, and he is good at fried rice and steamed dishes. Most of the customers from another world are skilled in magic and military power, but the owner is the strongest in Nekoya. Even if customers get violent with each other, if he says, "If you do this, I will never cook for you again," anyone will quietly start eating. By the way, he is not from another world, so he cannot use swords or magic, but he is also the grandson of "Yomi", the strongest hero of the Four Heroes.
Previous Owner
The other owner of Nekoya. He is the previous owner, and is also the first "owner" for the regulars who have been coming for a long time. He has a bold personality and is the type who doesn't worry about small details. She doesn't flinch even when threatened with a weapon, and even serves food to customers who don't have money, "without asking for payment at some point." She is especially a lifesaver for Lionel.
Aletta
A demon girl who works at a cat shop. She is a very cute poster girl for the cat shop, but strangely enough, she has no connection to love and romance. She loves to eat, so much so that she always asks for a second helping of the staff meal. Although she is clumsy and a bit of a fool, she is also a serious and intelligent character, having mastered the Eastern Continent language, which she couldn't read or write, and studying the food until she could explain it in detail.
Kuro
One of the six pillars, she is the black dragon. She is so intimidating that a powerful person would sweat and swallow their saliva, but to ordinary people and those who have not reached that level, she is just a waitress. Her favorite food is chicken curry, which Alphonse treats her to. Although she has a slender and petite build, her appetite is just like a dragon, as she continues to eat endless chicken curry for hours. Unlike the queenly Red Queen, she has a serious personality and follows through on what she is told.
Sarah Gold
A treasure hunter who loves minced meat cutlets. She always orders minced meat cutlets at Nekoya, and it is customary to take home a minced meat cutlet sandwich on the way home. Despite her appearance, she is actually a rich girl, but she is said to have been cursed by William's curse, which makes her obsessed with her longing for adventure, and her sisters are worried about her. In the other world, she hires Aletta as a live-in employee, and they become master and servant. Since she is basically out on adventures as a treasure hunter, Aletta seems to be living most of the time at home.
Tatsugorou
Tatsugorou likes to drink sake with teriyaki chicken as a snack. He came from the west and is a warrior whose name is known to everyone on the eastern continent, and he is a standard protagonist in bard poems. In the anime, he only eats teriyaki chicken, but in fact he also likes fried chicken and gin and tonics, and when he's tired, he sometimes goes for a second helping of fried chicken with or without the bone.
Artorias
An old man who loves pork cutlets and draft beer. However, his magical abilities are the best in the world among humans, and he is famous as one of the Four Heroes. Tatsugoro works as a mercenary, so he knows quite a few of where the doors to the cat house are, while Artorias doesn't walk around but uses a magic circle to summon the doors to the cat house to his own laboratory.
Heinrich Seelemann
Seelemann loves fried shrimp. He used to eat shrimp in his hometown, so he ordered fried shrimp out of nostalgia, but since then he has become so addicted to fried shrimp that he only eats fried shrimp at Nekoya. When he first came to the store, he ran out without hearing that it was "once every seven days," so 10 days later he went to where the door used to be and was stunned to find that it was not there. He was taken by Tatsugoro to visit Nekoya again, and after learning that it was "once every seven days," he became a regular customer.
Fardania
She looks like a cute, strong-willed young elf woman, but she is actually 121 years old. (Although she is still considered a child among the elves) She hates to lose, just like she looks, and when she ate tofu steak at Nekoya, she was so frustrated that she said, "I can't believe humans can make something like this," which seemed to look down on humans. After that, she vowed to make a dish that would rival Nekoya's, and left home alone to travel. Nekoya has continued to come to eat natto and other dishes since then.
The Red Queen
The first and strongest customer in this work. The Red Queen orders beef stew, and when she comes to the store, she orders a plate and takes home a pot full of beef stew. To the Red Queen, who has countless treasures, a pot full of beef stew is worth as much or more than the treasure. Therefore, originally, a large amount of reward was prepared for the price of beef stew for one gold coin... but the previous store owner said that he could not accept too much money, so two gold coins filled the pot.
Thomas Alfeid, Sirius Alfeid
The grandfather, the former head of a large trading company, made a name for himself in the other world by creating pasta sauce, and his grandson inherited the door to Nekoya. He is not only a customer, but also a merchant who sells ingredients from the other world to the store owner. In fact, the pasta sauce he invented in the other world is an imitation of the sauce he ate at Nekoya. By the way, the money Thomas receives from selling ingredients and medicines is an insignificant amount to Thomas, who built a large trading company, but he seems to trade with the store owner as a hobby.
Gaganpo
A lizardman who came from the swamp and loves omurice. He has a huge body and a tough appearance, but he is actually only 8 years old. (The lifespan of a lizardman is 20 to 30 years, so 8 years old is considered an adult.) When he comes to Nekoya, he can barely speak human language, and only speaks "Itadakimasu," "Thank you for the meal," and "Omurice large serving, take home three omelets." However, in the omurice episode, the lizardmen are depicted talking to each other normally, and you can hear Gaganpo's real voice.
Adelheid
Granddaughter of "Korokke", who used to come to Nekoya. She suffered from a lung disease called "Poverty Killer" (a disease similar to tuberculosis in modern times) and encountered the door to Nekoya while recuperating in the villa. She came to Nekoya only once as a child, and has never forgotten the parfait she had then, saying "I want to eat clouds" and ordering them every time. By the way, after about two years, she was almost completely cured of "Poverty Killer", but she continues to stay in the villa and visit Nekoya.
Alfonse Flugel
Alfonse has been stranded on a deserted island and has spent 20 years alone. The only thing he enjoyed during those 20 years was eating curry at Nekoya. (He actually appears in the first episode.) He was originally the strongest naval general in the principality and a legendary warrior who fought the Kraken, but he treated Kuro to chicken curry without realizing his strength.
Victoria Samanarch
While most customers don't pay any attention to anything else and just keep ordering their favorite dish, Victoria has already tried all the desserts and chooses the pudding a la mode as her favorite. This is because Victoria was the one who wrote the dessert menu and tasted the dishes to explain them. Like her master, Arthur, she uses a magic circle to summon the door to Nekoya to her laboratory.
Sharif, Lanner
The prince of the Sand Kingdom and his half-sister. The shy Sharif fell in love with Adelheid at first sight and calls her "beautiful you," but he is reluctant to take a step forward. In contrast, his sister Lanner is usually a tomboy who says what she wants to say clearly. (At Nekoya, she uses the first-person pronoun "watakushi"). In the anime, Lanner is irritated by Sharif's indecisive attitude, but struggles to somehow make contact with him.
Gillem, Galdo
Even among the noisy customers at Nekoya, these two small old men are particularly noisy. They drink as if they were at an izakaya, and although they ate fried seafood in the anime, they sometimes order other dishes to go with their drinks, such as fried oysters and steamed clams in sake. When they come to Nekoya, they eat and drink until they pass out, so a mountain hut is set up where the door appears. Beds and other things are prepared so that they can sleep immediately after returning to the other world. After that, Gard rebuilt the hut into a sturdy building, and ordinary travelers began to use it as a resting place, but the room where the door appears is locked with a sturdy steel door that even dwarves cannot break, so only they can enter.
Tiana Silverio XVI
The queen of fairies who came from the Flower Kingdom and loves crepes. Although she is still a young queen, she is strong-willed, and when a door appeared in the Flower Kingdom, she was the first to go through the door. When she ate for the first time, she was the first to eat a crepe as a poison tester. In the anime, she comes to Nekoya with about 10 subordinates, but in the original work, after the second time when she confirms that it is safe, she visits Nekoya with 200 subordinates. (The 200 are chosen by lottery, but sometimes she can't hold back and a riot almost breaks out...) By the way, her body is the size of a palm, so one crepe can satisfy a large number of people.
Iris, Arius
The two are childhood friends born on the same day as the children of Sirens. Iris is full of energy and likes to rush around, while Arius is the one who keeps up with her even as he gets pushed around by her. They come through the door of Nekoya from an island known as "Chimera Killing Island", which is an isolated island where Alfonse (Curry Rice) was adrift. On the island, the two receive a note and money from Alfonse, visit Nekoya and order "raw fish". They like the tuna carpaccio that is served, and decide to make a nest on Chimera Killing Island. Although they look human, they were actually both born from eggs.
Lionel
The legendary Lion King has been a gladiator for over 20 years and continues to win. Even before he became a gladiator, he was such a talented fighter that it was said that "if he had been born in a different era, he could have become one of the demon kings," but he lost his confidence after being easily defeated by Alexander, the Sword God, one of the Four Heroes. At that time, he happened to pass by the door of a cat shop, and the former owner of the shop treated him to a katsudon, which helped him recover, and he has remained undefeated since then. Viewers have expressed various concerns, such as "Does the katsudon contain onions that are poisonous to felines?" and "Does the hot pork soup have a strong taste for cats?", but he himself eats it without any problems (laughs).
Arte, Roukei
The mermaid Arte and Roukei, who was saved by Arte during a storm. They are a very good couple, but viewers have given Roukei the miserable nickname "Wallet-kun"... because when Arte saved Roukei, she was told that she would give him anything in return and asked for 10 silver coins, which was the beginning of "Wallet-kun". When they first came to Nekoya together, Arte only brought one silver coin, and when Roukei asked for a refill without knowing that, he paid for it, and the name "Wallet-kun" spread even further (of course, Arte has no intention of doing so). By the way, in the original story, since mermaids don't have money, Roukei invites them to go to Nekoya together instead of paying (he's completely like Wallet-kun...)
Alexander
One of the Four Heroes and the great-grandfather of Adelheid, Korokke's father. The shopkeeper thinks he is "young," but that is only because he is half-elf, and he has been fighting on the battlefield for over 100 years. His strength is overwhelming, as he is called the "Sword God." Elves are thought of as being skilled in magic, but Alexander is strong enough to defeat the Demon King with just his sword. (He also treats Lionel like a child.) He is a confident playboy and a womanizer, but when he first saw Kuro, he looked frightened and said, "He is someone I should never make my enemy."
Summary of "Isekai Shokudou" character introduction
So far, we have introduced the regular customers and related people who appear in the anime "Isekai Shokudou". What did you think? I think the number of regular customers will increase even more in the second season, so I'm looking forward to it.
