"Peach Boy Riverside" is a battle fantasy series currently being serialized in Shonen Magazine R, originally published as a webcomic. It's scheduled to air as a summer anime in July 2021. The story incorporates the setting of Momotaro into a world where various races, including demons, elves, and lizardmen, threaten humanity. Characters possessing Momotaro's powers appear throughout the story. Here, we've compiled a ranking of the strongest characters in Peach Boy Riverside, based on our own personal opinions! The ranking is based on the remake.
Strongest Ranking #1: Menshinki Joselino
She looks like a young girl. Her personality is also like a young girl's. However, he is one of the highest-ranking demons. He is responsible for creating high-ranking masked demons, including the Blue-Faced Demon, who instantly destroyed Hawthorne's hometown. While he currently shows no signs of combat prowess, he possesses the ability to create demons with the power to destroy entire planets and countries, such as the Blue-Faced Demon and the Red-Faced Demon, and is believed to possess unknown but far greater powers than the Masked Demons. He is attached to Hawthorne, whom he met by chance in town.
Second Place in the Strongest Ranking: Sumeragi
Even among the highest demons in the demon hierarchy, Sumeragi ranks particularly high. While there are many unknowns about his abilities, he is strong enough to withstand Kibitsu Mikoto's power and defeat the resurrected Demon King, albeit not completely. He supports Sally's efforts to reconcile humans and demons, but Sumeragi seems to have his own agenda behind the scenes, making him completely untrustworthy. He is a character who harbors madness, as seen in his harassment of his subordinates and his brutal attempts to murder them, but he is basically elusive and his thoughts are impossible to read. He is currently one of the strongest characters, but Sumeragi himself has hinted that there is someone greater than him. For some reason, Momo's power does not activate for this character.
Third Place in the Strongest Ranking: Sartorius Aldyk
The protagonist of this work is the princess of the small country of Aldyk. Nicknamed Sally, she lived a comfortable life in her kingdom until a demon attack put the country in danger and she was rescued by Kibitsu Mikoto. This incident inspired her to embark on a journey to learn about the outside world. After witnessing the various races and the discrimination they face, as well as the existence of demons like Carrot, she embarks on a journey to compromise and reconcile the relationships between humans, demons, and demi-humans. However, Sally shares a hidden power with Mikoto. When confronting demons, a different personality emerges, revealing a sadistic personality and incredible strength that delights in killing. Even high-ranking demons are no match for her power.
Fourth Place in the Strongest Ranking: Kibitsu Mikoto
After slaughtering all the demons in Japan, the imported Momotaro crossed the ocean to a foreign land. While often mistaken for a woman due to his cute appearance, he is actually a man. Normally a gentle, good-natured young man, he transforms when confronted with demons, ruthlessly killing them and enjoying the process. He is feared by demons for his overwhelming power and ruthless slaughter of them, but in fact he suffers from a complicated background and the resulting mental instability.
5th Place in the Strongest Ranking: Nobrega, the Law-God Demon
Deceased. A high-ranking demon sent to kill Kibitsuhiko-no-Mikoto, who had slaughtered all the demons in Japan. He came to Japan to enjoy the food and the scenery. Although he is a demon, he is not one to enjoy pointless killing, but he recognizes Kibitsuhiko-no-Mikoto, also known as Momotaro, as the culprit for his brutal slaughter of all the demons in Japan. Possessing a virtually infinite range that ignores the visible distance, his firepower was unparalleled, overwhelming and killing Kibitsuhiko-no-Mikoto. However, Mikoto, who rushed to his aid, inherited Momotaro's power and killed him. Despite his untimely exit, there's no doubt he remains a powerful warrior.
6th Place in the Strongest Ranking: Kibitsuhiko-no-Mikoto
Deceased. A young man born with the power to slay demons. Momotaro himself. Traveling with his speaking dog, he became a hero by eliminating demons throughout Japan, despite struggling with his own inner conflicts. Mikoto's foster father, Kibitsuhiko, opened up to Mikoto, but was defeated in a battle with the demon Nobrega due to overwhelming superiority. He ultimately fought back but was exhausted, but his power was passed on to Mikoto. While not as powerful as Nobrega, he is a powerful demon who wiped out all of Japan.
Seventh Place in the Strongest Ranking: Frau
The first companion to travel with Sally. A rabbit-like Ujin, he loves carrots. He hits it off with the non-discriminatory Sally and becomes a reliable traveling companion. He's a skilled demi-human with excellent fighting skills, but even so, he's no match for high-ranking demons. However, even when his upper body is blown away, he somehow manages to revive. He unleashes his incredible power by drawing on it, but it seems he pays a price. He's apparently not actually a Rabbit, but his true identity has yet to be revealed in the remake.
Strongest Ranking: Eighth Place: Demon Lord Quarv, Crow
A black Rabbit suddenly appears before Sally and her friends. He once boasted great power as a Demon Lord, but now he's lost his name, power, and original body. He's come to kill Frau in order to reclaim them. During her battle with Frau, she successfully devours her and regains her name and body, but is defeated by Sally who arrives to help. She then challenges Sumeragi, who used her, but her powers as a Demon Lord remain and she is defeated. While many expect her to disappear, she survives in the form of a black rabbit and continues to travel with Todoroki and the others.
Strongest Ranking: 9th Place: Winnie
A witch who lives in the Western Forest. She can use high-level magic, use a crystal ball to view images of the past, and manage the sealing of high-level demons. Although he is not particularly emotional, he is quite kind-hearted and tries to teach Sally and the others magic, and appears to help Todoroki and Hawthorne during their battle. While he doesn't often show his true abilities, he is highly respected by the elves and lizardmen, and is considered quite a powerful character, as evidenced by his ability to easily block Todoroki's lightning bolts.
Strongest Ranking #10: Vampire
A demon who lived among humans. He was married to a human wife, but after losing control of his instincts and draining her blood, he lost hope in life. He was a high-ranking demon highly respected by Carrot, possessing the power to instantly blow off Frau's upper body, but was killed when a revived Frau pierced his heart. However, he was later resurrected by Heaven's intervention and accompanied the Todoroki crew to serve as a bridge between demons and humans.
