A unique anime began airing in October 2019. It's called "No Guns Life"! The world is set in the near future, with a somewhat Showa-era feel. The characters have a mix of Japanese and English names, and the story is a hard-boiled sci-fi anime with many mysteries. "No Guns Life" features many characters, and they're all quite formidable. So, here we've created our own ranking of their strength! Use it as a reference for the story ahead.
7th Place in the Strength Ranking: Hayden Gondry
First in History
Let's get started! We'll introduce all eight of these incredibly strong characters! First up is Hayden Gondry. He's a full-body Augmented user who appears in the manga from Volume 2. He barely has a human form. He's a former soldier who became an Augmented User during the war using early augmentation technology. He's said to be the first ever berserk Augmented User, which led to the creation of EMS. He fought a fierce battle with Juzo Inui, but was defeated.
Strength Ranking: 8th Place: Ende
Tragedy
Ende, an orphan who was implanted with body augmentation technology by Veruehren Corporation, is in 6th place. After becoming an augmented being and becoming mentally unstable, Ende turned to his best friend, Anne, for emotional support. Treated like a tool by Veruehren, he went out of control, and while it was not his intention, the threat he posed was tremendous. Mary Steinberg managed to remove the spider-like augmentation device, but the emotional scars are deep.
Strength Ranking #5: Tetsuro Arahabaki
Latest Expander
In fifth place is Tetsuro Arahabaki, the central character of the story. Despite being the son of the CEO of Veruehren, he cooperated with Spitzbergen, which preaches anti-expansion technology. While his true intentions are yet to be revealed, he was forced to become an Expander and is now the owner of the latest expansion device, "Harmonie." Since he isn't particularly strong himself, he only plays a supporting role in combat, earning him fifth place. If his combat abilities were even stronger, he'd be ranked even higher! He has the strongest sense of justice.
Strength Ranking #4: Edmund
Two Faces
Fourth place goes to Edmund, also known as Theodore. Edmund, a full-body augmented and the husband of our client, Emma, begins his story by mistaking Five, a former Hand, for Juzo Inui. Theodore is Emma's ex-husband, but he went to war and became an over-augmented, living as Edmund. Edmund's combat abilities are, of course, comparable to Juzo Inui's. His blows are incredibly powerful, but his roughness is a drawback.
Strength Ranking #3: Mega-Armed Saitokisada
Hero
Next up is Mega-Armed Saitokisada, also a full-body augmented. He's the first full-body augmented human in history, and is considered a hero for dedicating himself to the development of body augmentation technology during the war. However, he's also the true culprit behind the massacre that occurred about 10 years ago, in which Olivier van de Böllme's father was killed. Possessing the same techniques as Juzo Inui, he was a very difficult opponent to defeat. Incidentally, a giant statue of Mega-Armed Sai Tokisada has been erected in the Victory over Japan Memorial Park.
Strength Ranking #2: Seven
GUS
Seven, ranked #2, also appears on the cover of Volume 4 of the manga. Like Juzo Inui, he is one of the GUS members, whose head is a pistol. Seven is an Augmented Being managed and operated by Verueren Corporation, and his Hands are Pepper. Unlike Inui Juzo, Seven uses a Desert Eagle pistol and sometimes makes fun of Inui Juzo's revolver. He's timid and submissive to Pepper, but he seems to trust her. In his battle with Inui, he demonstrates the true power of his GUS, nearly killing him.
Strength Ranking #1: Inui Juzo
Strongest
Number one goes to the main character of this work, Inui Juzo. He's the only GUS member still free on a license from the Reconstruction Agency, and his rugged, manly personality makes him a rare character these days. He doesn't have a specific gun, and has previously entrusted his gun to Tetsuro Arata and Mary Steinberg. While his weapon packs a powerful punch, his special move is the bare-knuckle Hyuncke Faust. Though he's had a difficult past, he now teams up with Tetsuro Arata and Mary Steinberg to fight against Veruehren.
