The first season aired in April 2023, and the second season is fast approaching! Season 2 is scheduled to air in January 2024 and is packed with content to look forward to. In the first season, Yamada and Ichikawa first became involved and gradually became more comfortable with each other, but in the second season, they will move forward one step at a time, once they are aware of each other! In Season 1, during winter break, Ichikawa broke his arm at his parents' house. However, their relationship progressed to the point where they kept in frequent contact, exchanged gifts, and even went to visit the shrine together for the New Year, leading to Ichikawa inviting Yamada into his room. Up until that point, it was just Yamada and Ichikawa, but with the start of the new semester, they're once again faced with their classmates, and Ichikawa finds himself unsure how to maintain a distance! What if his classmates notice his sudden friendship? How will Ichikawa act, struggling with the dilemma?
Ichikawa visits Yamada's house! Will the introverted Ichikawa have the heart to endure?!
After a series of events, Ichikawa is finally invited to Yamada's house...! While the introverted Ichikawa does his best to appear nonchalant, he discovers a new side to Yamada. While Ichikawa failed the middle school entrance exam and is riddled with inferiority complex, Yamada is outgoing, beautiful, and a magazine model... a girl who seems like she has no idea how someone could have such an inferiority complex. However, the reality seems a little different...
About that time...
If I couldn't have him anyway, I should have just made up a reason to dislike him and run away. That's what I thought, and I avoided Yamada. At the time, I tried to get away by saying I had something to do. But Yamada knew that wasn't the case. Now, what I did back then is coming back to haunt me!? Ichikawa must face himself.
An encounter with a mysterious giant!?
Ichikawa ends up coming to Yamada's house. When Yamada's mother suddenly returns home, Ichikawa must complete his mission to return safely. Despite various obstacles, he manages to leave the house without Yamada's mother noticing. However, on his way back, he encounters a mysterious giant. What is the true identity of this gloomy giant?!
The two slowly mature
The protagonist and heroine of Boku Yabai are second-year junior high school students. They're still children. Still, as time goes by, they both grow. This includes physical growth, such as their voices changing, and mental growth through their interactions. Little by little, we'll see them grow in various ways in Season 2. Ichikawa initially had severe social anxiety, but in Season 1, he was able to converse normally with Yamada. However, in Season 2, we might see Ichikawa conversing fairly normally with the girls in his group.
Making exciting chocolates!?
Ichikawa somehow ends up making chocolates to give on Valentine's Day with a group of girls. This happens because Sekine, who knows the situation, finds it amusing. However, Kobayashi, who doesn't know the slightest bit about it, says, "What a coincidence. What are you doing here?" Come to think of it! He wasn't specifically invited, he just came because the context made sense!? In reality, he wasn't even invited...! Was it all just his own self-consciousness?! Ichikawa is overcome with a desperate urge to hyperventilate. What will the outcome be?
An exciting Valentine's Day!
After all that, they celebrated Valentine's Day together. Since they made the chocolate together, Yamada and the others thought it would be easy to give it to Ichikawa, but Yamada wasn't sure when to give it to Ichikawa. Even though he and Ichikawa are close enough to go home together, he didn't know how to express his sincerity. While Ichikawa usually takes the initiative in this story, this one is a rare one in which Yamada takes the initiative.
A movie date with Yamada!?
Ichikawa is given tickets to a movie starring a senior at his agency, but it's clear that the reason they gave them to him is because they want to go see it together. Ichikawa initially ignores the offer, but he has grown up and enjoys the movie date, where he witnesses Yamada's true face as an actress. Even though she's only had small roles up until now, Yamada's face as an actress is completely different from her usual self. At first, Ichikawa thought of her as a representative of the class's outgoing students, and that feeling has faded recently. However, seeing Yamada's acting side makes Ichikawa feel distant for a different reason. What does Ichikawa think when he sees Yamada like that?
Ichikawa observes Yamada at work!?
The entertainment world that Yamada is involved in is a completely different world to Ichikawa. He can't help but feel alienated, but will he be able to face it head-on in order to be by Yamada's side? And Yamada begins to take her work as an actress more seriously...
A first birthday party and a sleepover!? Just how far will this go?
On Ichikawa's birthday, Yamada happens to meet Yamada on the way home from cram school and decides to walk home together, but a mysterious, suspicious shadow appears behind them... It's Ichikawa's father, whom Yamada wasn't sure if he should talk to. From what Ichikawa's father says, Yamada realizes that today is Ichikawa's birthday, and they decide to celebrate together. Not only that, but he ends up staying the night at Ichikawa's house...?!
Yamada's stalker shows up!?!?!?!
When you become famous in the entertainment industry, you're bound to have one or two obsessive fans. Ichikawa finds an account called "Pig" claiming to be a fan of Anna Akino. However, it seems that "Pig" is aware of Yamada's every move! Unable to sit still, Ichikawa heads to Yamada's side with the presence of a dangerous character in the shadows...
