Hinamatsuri is a story written by Otake Masao and has been serialized in Harta since 2010. It was long-awaited and made into an anime in April 2018. It is a sci-fi comedy that depicts the hectic daily lives of an intellectual yakuza and a psychic girl who suddenly appears in their home one day, and is sometimes tearful. In this article, we will introduce the Ashikawa-gumi, the group to which Nitta, who is like a father to Hina, belongs.
First, a quick introduction to Hinamatsuri
One day, while the intellectual yakuza Nitta was at home auctioning and browsing his hobby pots, a mysterious object fell on his head. Inside was a mysterious girl. Nitta assumed it was a mistake and left it for the day, but by morning the object hadn't disappeared. With determination, Nitta talks to the girl and frees her from the mysterious suit, but it turns out she has psychic powers and they end up living together. And so begins Nitta and Hina's hectic days.
What is the Ashikawa Group?
Nitta's gang is a subordinate of a fictional gang called the Inari-kai. The gang's motto is "Righteousness above all else."
Yoshifumi Nitta (CV: Yoshiki Nakajima)
He has blonde hair slicked back. He's not a militant, but rather runs his own company and earns his living. He's what you'd call an intellectual yakuza. Hina usually calls him "Nitta" without any honorifics. One day, while Nitta was living comfortably alone, a psychic named Hina suddenly appeared from above his head while he was in his room and threatened to destroy his pressure points if he didn't take care of them, and he ended up living with her.
Nitta's Personality
Although he's a yakuza, he's very caring and takes good care of Hina, who reluctantly came to live with him, and even educates her. He's also very friendly with Anzu and others, giving her pocket money and being touched by Anzu's bravery, making him quite a conscientious person.
Nitta's Housekeeping Skills
In contrast to Hina, who is completely unable to do housework, Nitta possesses excellent housekeeping skills, able to handle everything from cleaning to cooking. These skills were acquired due to the sloppy personalities of his mother and sister at home, and he fully demonstrates them in his life with Hina.
Yoshihiko Ashikawa, voiced by Hidekatsu Shibata
He is the boss of the Ashikawa-gumi. He is very fond of Nitta and has high hopes for him. He was shot during a gang conflict and was hospitalized for a while, but was later released and returned to work. Perhaps because he is fond of Nitta, he also dotes on Hina like a granddaughter, and when he heard that Hina was running for student council at school, he had the group's legal counsel write the manuscript for her candidacy speech. If Nitta is a father, then he is like a grandfather.
Kiyoshi Baba (voiced by Tsuyoshi Koyama)
He's a bit of a troublesome character, prone to strong preconceptions and often refusing to listen to corrections from Nitta. He later rises to the position of boss of the Ashikawa-gumi.
Sub - Voiced by: Kengo Kawanishi
Nitta's younger brother, his real name is Saburo Tanaka. He looks like a thug or a young man with a frivolous personality, but he's actually a friendly and kind person. However, he's very stupid, and Nitta often gets angry at him. He's familiar with Hina and Hitomi.
Tatsuhiko Naito
Although he has not yet appeared in the anime, he is like a big brother to Nitta and is incredibly strong, having defeated four gunmen with a sword. He is also good friends with the underboss Baba, and the two often tease Nitta together.
A summary of the kind-hearted Ashikawa-gumi!
The Ashikawa-gumi, led by Nitta, are full of truly good people. While they do, of course, commit violent acts professionally, Nitta's attitude toward Hina and those around him, the boss telling Nitta to attend Hina's parent-teacher conference even after he was shot, and Sabu always seeming to go at his own pace—they're truly soothing to watch. You'll see this Ashikawa-gumi frequently in Hinamatsuri, so if you haven't seen it yet, be sure to check out The Healing Yakuza. Thank you for reading to the end!
