"Gakuen BASARA" is a school parody of Capcom's "Sengoku BASARA" action game series, in which players take on the role of a Sengoku warlord and aim to defeat enemy generals. This time, we'll be introducing the school doctor, Akechi Mitsuhide.

He has long white hair and wears a white coat, typical of a private doctor. His skin is also pale, giving him an overall pale appearance. His eyes are narrow and his facial features are reptilian. His personality gives off a quiet and gentle impression, the complete opposite. He appears to be a handsome, quiet, and gentle young man, and he speaks politely.

Aspects Carried Back from the Original Setting

In Sengoku BASARA, he is a pleasure-killer who enjoys torturing people both physically and mentally before ultimately killing them. Not only that, but he also has an abnormal personality that even takes pleasure in being hurt himself. In Gakuen BASARA, Akechi Mitsuhide is actually a teacher! That said, his role is not that of a subject teacher, but rather that of a school nurse. He carries over some of the setting from Sengoku BASARA, and seems to be an eccentric school nurse who loves the sight of blood. Another aspect that has been carried over from Sengoku BASARA is that "treatment is very painful." However, he is said to be quite skilled. He is a unique character.

A tall, thin young man with long, mysterious silver hair. His long hair tends to obscure his right eye. He is equipped with armor such as a torso, tare, shoulder pads, and gauntlets, but his upper body is sleeveless and lightly dressed, while his lower body is quite lightly dressed in hakama. This is due to his masochistic nature, and he has deliberately kept his clothing light.

Sadistic Personality

In reality, he is a murderer with a penchant for pleasure, a psychopathic individual with both sadism and masochism who takes pleasure in physically and mentally torturing and killing people, as well as in causing pain himself. He viewed slaughter as a meal, and would turn his blade on anyone he saw on the battlefield, friend or foe. For Mitsuhide, killing was merely a means to satisfy his instinctual desire for pleasure; conversely, he never killed out of hatred.

Image of Akechi Mitsuhide

In this way, he creates a completely different image of Akechi Mitsuhide than has been portrayed up until now. I would like to caution you against forming a strange image of the historical Akechi Mitsuhide. However, rather than being simply portrayed as a madman, he also had an intelligent strategist side, and even possessed a fairly decent aesthetic sense, making him a very complex and difficult character to grasp.

Akechi Mitsuhide in History

He served the Owari daimyo Oda Nobunaga and was one of his senior vassals, supporting his military aspirations. However, he led a rebellion that later became known as the "Honnoji Incident." Because of this, he is a very famous figure whose name is always mentioned when discussing Japanese history (especially the eras of Nobunaga and Hideyoshi), but half of his life is shrouded in mystery.

Fighting Style

Mitsuhide attacks by alternately swinging large scythes held in both hands. His slow movements are characteristic, and while his attack range is wide, he leaves himself open for a large attack. He is also a rare character who can land attacks on allies. Many of his unique skills reflect Mitsuhide's abnormal nature, such as stabbing the scythe into the body of a target, regardless of whether they are friend or foe, to drain their stamina, and countering by deliberately inciting the enemy with provocative movements, then returning the damage he received to them.

The voice actor is "Sho Hayami"

The voice actor for the role of Akechi Mitsuhide in Gakuen BASARA is Sho Hayami, a versatile voice actor, actor, singer, and narrator. He studied acting at the Seinenza Training School and joined the Shiki Theatre Company due to his admiration for Takeshi Kusaka. While working as a stage actor, at the age of 22, he entered the "Amateur Voice Actor/Drama Contest 80" sponsored by Nippon Broadcasting System and won the grand prize. This led to his debut as a voice actor.

Talented Voice Actor

Using his unique deep voice, he voices Ironhide, Aizen Sousuke, and Akechi Mitsuhide, three dangerous characters in different ways. He showed off his impressive falsetto when appearing in a CD drama, and he likely still has the raspy voice of Ironhide. Originally an actor with the Shiki Theatre Company, he boasts exceptional vocal talent in the voice acting world.

Summary

In Sengoku BASARA, he played a rather eccentric and perverse character, so his role in Gakuen BASARA attracted a lot of attention, but it seems he has retained the key parts. His role as the school nurse is also interesting. His interactions with the other students are also noteworthy. Be sure to keep an eye on Akechi Mitsuhide and watch the anime.
