Marsil is characterized by his long blonde hair. He is an elf, the longest-lived race. While elves are often thought of as a noble race and often seem difficult to interact with, Marsil is more of a commoner and has a friendly personality. She is emotional and has a strong-willed side, often arguing with her companions. She is a talented woman with a wide range of knowledge, but tends to rely on theory and can lack flexibility when it comes to actual combat. When she was suggested to save on food costs by eating monsters, she strongly refused, but once she realized how delicious they were, she was seen eating them with more gusto than anyone else.

Laios Toden and his friends encounter a red dragon at the bottom of the dungeon. However, after days of traveling, the party members are hungry and in a state of disarray. While daydreaming, Laios is almost eaten by the red dragon, but his sister Farin Toden shields him and ends up in the dragon's mouth. Using Farin's return magic, the party members manage to escape. However, Farin is eaten by the red dragon and they are unable to escape together. So, despite being almost penniless, Laios declares that he will head back into the dungeon. Knowing that it will be a difficult journey, he tells his party members Marsil and Chilchuck to leave the guild. However, Farin is both a friend and an important companion to Marsil, so Marsil insists, "I'll definitely go with you! I love Farin," and follows him. Such is the compassionate and kind character he is.

Marsil, an elf with a high aptitude for magic, is a magician. He uses his long blonde hair to cast spells, and he apparently takes great care to groom it when casting complex spells. Due to his long hair, Marsil can be seen in a variety of hairstyles throughout the story. He has low athletic ability and is weak when it comes to practical application. However, he has a vast knowledge of magic and is an expert in everything from offensive magic to healing and resurrection spells. The leader, Laios Toden, also relies on Marsil's magic. He also teaches Laios basic healing spells. The name of his favorite wand is "Ambrosia."
