"Welcome to the Classroom of the Elite," better known as "Youjitsu," is a Japanese light novel series. It's not only popular in Japan, but also in Korea and the United States, where translated versions are available. The TV anime series has aired two seasons, with the third season scheduled for January 2024, creating a buzz. The series features a diverse cast of unique characters, but who are the strongest among them? This article will introduce a ranking of the strongest characters, along with my own thoughts!
Story Summary
The story is set at the prestigious Advanced Nurturing High School. The school is said to have a nearly 100% rate of students going on to higher education and finding employment, and students are paid points equivalent to 100,000 yen per month, making it a laissez-faire school. Our protagonist, Ayanokoji Kiyotaka, is assigned to the school's D class, which is full of problem children. One month after enrolling, it is revealed that the points that are supposed to be deposited into the student's account every month are not being deposited into the D class students' accounts, and that this is due to the students' self-indulgent lifestyles. In fact, the system is set up so that only students with excellent grades receive preferential treatment. This is where school life begins at this ultra-meritocratic school.
5th Place: Sakayanagi Alice
Ranked fifth is Sakayanagi Alice. Despite being restricted from exercise due to a chronic illness, she possesses such high intelligence that she calls herself a genius. She is also skilled at governing her class and has great leadership skills. She is also one of the few people who knows the past of the main character, Ayanokoji Kiyotaka. Having appeared in the key visual for the third season, we can expect to see her shine in the anime.
4th Place: Ichika Amasawa
4th place: Ichika Amasawa. Despite her gyaru-like appearance, she possesses high physical abilities and exceptional athletic ability. She also seems to have a slightly poor sense of humor, often making insensitive remarks. Despite these shortcomings, she is undeniably strong, demonstrating her ability to keep experienced fighters at bay.
3rd Place: Koenji Rokusuke
Ranked third, Koenji Rokusuke is the epitome of egocentricity. He lacks cooperation and stands out from his classmates, but he doesn't seem to mind. While his incredible talents, such as his ability to calculate and survive, are often proven, there are still many mysteries surrounding him. His performance in the third season may help him rise in the rankings.
Second Place: Takuya Yagami
Second place winner Takuya Yagami is so skilled that even the protagonist, Kiyotaka Ayanokoji, doesn't want to make him his enemy. Though he's extremely jealous, he's able to appear calm in front of Ayanokoji, showing his ability to control his emotions and act appropriately for the time and place. Incidentally, Yagami has already dropped out of school in the story, but if he were still enrolled, his skills would likely have improved even further.
1st Place: Kiyotaka Ayanokoji
Ranked in at number one is our protagonist, Kiyotaka Ayanokoji. He possesses exceptional combat skills, possessing the strength to read his opponents' tactics and win by carefully understanding their strategies. He's quiet and reserved, even stating that he's "not good at communication," but he also excels at controlling others. His abilities are acknowledged by Amasawa and Yagami, making him worthy of his number one ranking.
