Arifureta: From Commonplace to World's Strongest was originally serialized on the novel submission website, Let's Become a Novelist, and became popular, eventually being published as a book and adapted into an anime. It's a reincarnation story, telling the success story of the protagonist, Hajime Nagumo, who was originally unremarkable at school, and his classmates, who are reincarnated into a new world. This time, we'll introduce the Rabbit People, who appear in the story.
What are the Rabbit People?
The Rabbit People, officially known as the Hauria, are a tribe that lived in a settlement deep in the Sea of Trees of Fairbergen, the demi-human country. While demi-humans do not naturally possess magical powers, Shia Hauria does, and can even directly control them. She also possesses a unique magic, the ability to see into the future. Because of this, she is treated like a monster and faces execution if captured. To hide her, the Hauria tribe leaves the Sea of Trees and heads for the northern mountains.
Main Characters of the Rabbit Tribe
Kam Hauria
Kam Hauria is the leader of the Hauria tribe and Shia's father. She has a very kind heart, and says that when the family dies, they will die together. She also made the decision to leave the Sea of Trees to hide Shia. She is timid and at times fearful of Hajime, who kills humans without hesitation. However, through intensive training with Hajime, she becomes muscular and overpowers the bear tribe. However, she also has a clumsy side, seemingly forgetting the cycle of the fog.
Shia Hauria
The reason her family was pursued was because Shia Hauria possessed magical powers. She has the unique magic of seeing the future, and is the one who asked Hajime and Yue to travel with her. During their journey, she fell in love with Hajime, and left her clan to accompany him and Yue. While her magical aptitude is by no means omnipotent, she excels at strengthening the body, and is useful in situations where magical power is dispersed. She is constantly competing with Yue to climb the ladder to adulthood with Hajime.
The Usagi-nin Tribe's Combat Abilities and Hajime
Hajime and his friends embark on a journey with the Usagi-nin Tribe
The Hauria tribe is not a clan specialized in combat, but rather a weak race. As a result, they are discovered by Imperial soldiers on their way to the northern mountains, and half of them are captured. Meanwhile, Shea, using her vision, learns of Hajime and his friends and asks for their help. Hajime is initially reluctant, but agrees to accompany them on their journey, promising to spare the clan's lives in exchange for guiding them through the Sea of Trees.
Specialized in Stealth Operations
The Usagi-nin are apparently a race skilled at reconnaissance and stealth. However, judging by their surprise at Hajime and his companions' attempts to conceal their presence, it's unclear how skilled they are.
The Usagi-nin are Trained by Hajime
The Usagi-nin are naturally low in combat ability. However, after being guided to the Sea of Trees, they must survive on their own. To that end, Hajime decides to initially train the Usagi-nin during the 10 days leading up to the Great Tree. The kind-hearted, timid Usagininzoku hesitate at first even to stab animals, and training doesn't go well. So, Hajime hardens his heart and begins intense training. They grow stronger and stronger, and in a battle against the Bear Tribe, fellow demi-humans and considered the strongest species, who lie in wait, they win overwhelmingly. However, their personalities have become insane, almost like slave traders. A word from Hajime awakens them, and they return to their previous personalities, but their bodies remain muscular. Surely, from now on, the Hauria clan will be able to get by on their own.
The Kind-Hearted Rabbit People
The Hauria Tribe Are Always Together
The Rabbit People were being pursued because Shia Hauria possessed magical powers. When the decision was made to execute her clan in a negotiation with the Bear Tribe, Shia pleaded for only herself to be executed and her clan spared. The words she uttered at that moment were, "You've done nothing wrong. I don't want to abandon my family like that. We, the Hauria Tribe, are always together." This scene showed the kind-hearted side of the Hauria Tribe, who refuse to abandon their families simply because they possess their own magical powers.
Sinful
The Hauria tribe originally had low combat abilities. Hajime decided to train them. An incident occurred on the second day of training. Pointing at a rat-like creature, the tribe leader cried out, "Forgive me for my sins." This alone highlights the gentle nature of the Usagi-nin, but the other members of the tribe also kindly offer him words: "We are all sinners! Even if you will be judged someday, stand up now!"
The End of the Usagi-nin
The kind-hearted Usagi-nin. They were able to safely guide Hajime and his friends deep into the Sea of Trees. Unfortunately, that trial had to be postponed, and they parted ways. Having grown so strong, they must be living happily somewhere!
