The second season of the anime "World Trigger" will begin airing in January 2021. So, I thought I'd create a new ranking of the strongest characters. World Trigger emphasizes team battles as a corps over individual combat ability, and individual combat ability can often be overturned by group teamwork. So, this time, I've created a ranking of the characters who contribute most to the corps, highlighting their importance!

Most Contributing Character Ranking: 1st Place: "Hyrein"

Hyrein

Captain of the expeditionary force from Aftokrator. He'd undoubtedly rank highly even if ranked by individual combat ability. While his commanding skills are certainly impressive, his black trigger, "Egg Crown (Alector)," is so unbelievable it earned him first place. While World Trigger often features plots where overwhelming individual power is defeated by collective strength, certain black triggers possess unbelievable abilities that surpass collective power.

This is what makes Hyrein so strong

"Egg Crown (Alector)" deploys a large number of fish-shaped projectiles that turn enemies into cubes on contact, making it a one-hit kill attack and can also be used defensively. It even transforms trion-based weapons into cubes, making it incredibly difficult to deal with. While it does require a large amount of trion to use, it required multiple Border members to deal with a single Hyrein, and even then, it was still far from neutralizing him, making it truly cheating.

Most Contributing Character Ranking: 2nd Place: "Jin Yuichi"

Jin-san

He was an S-rank Border member who wielded the black trigger "Fuujin," but due to various circumstances, he gave up the trigger and became a reliable older brother figure. He is arguably Border's most valuable and valuable asset. In addition to his exceptional skills, his side effect of future vision allows him to maximize the power of Fuujin, and the combination of these two abilities makes it difficult for any Border member to deal with them. I don't think anyone in Border can defeat Jin when he's at his best. His side effect of future vision, which is key to his strategy, is powerful enough on its own.

This is what makes Jin Yuichi so strong

Even more than his strength when using the Wind Blade, his side effect's ability to see into the future is incredibly powerful. Without Jin, the Border members would have had a much harder time, and the Neighbors would have been able to invade more easily. His impact on strategy and the battle situation is so profound that Border members build their strategies based on Jin's precognition. His very existence is like a Black Trigger, making him an incredible character. However, his precognition isn't omnipotent, and there are many things in the world that cannot be helped, even if they are known through his precognition. For that reason, I ranked him second.

Most Contributing Character Ranking: 3rd Place: Old Man Visa

Old Man Visa

A veteran of Aftokrator. Not only is he strong due to his experience, but he also wields the Aftokrator's national treasure, the black trigger "Star Staff (Organon)." Its powerful, invisible slash attacks are deadly and spread across a wide area. It's virtually impossible to block on first sight, and even if you manage to dodge the attack thanks to Visa's skill, he'll counter with the Organon itself.

This is what makes Old Man Visa so strong

The wide-area, invisible slashes of his "Star Staff (Organon)" are suited to fighting groups rather than one-on-one. It's a trigger that's difficult to deal with under normal circumstances, and with the cunning Visa at its mercy, it's a flawless weapon both offensively and defensively. I think the reason why Yuma Kuga was able to defeat him was because the black triggers work so well together. I'm not sure anyone else could have done it. Actually, I think it's amazing he was able to win.

Most Contributing Character Ranking: 4th Place: "Tsukihiko Amano"

Amano

An S-rank Border corps member wielding a black trigger. While the specifics of his trigger are currently unknown, he is said to possess combat abilities surpassing even Jin's. However, due to his questionable behavior, his appearance when using the trigger is apparently questionable. He possesses a side effect similar to synesthesia, which allows him to perceive events as colors, greatly contributing to the enemy's confusion, but the details of this effect are unknown. He remains shrouded in mystery. During the past invasion of Aftokrator, he prevented the invasion by turning a large number of Trion soldiers into empty buildings, earning him a remarkable military merit.

This is what makes him so strong: Tsukihiko Amano

This S-class corporal is still shrouded in mystery, and the specifics of his abilities are unknown. However, in terms of pure combat ability, he is undoubtedly among the best in the series. His ability to single-handedly subdue a large number of Trion soldiers and turn the entire area into a wasteland is so overwhelming that he could single-handedly change the course of a battle. However, this ability is likely to drag down even his allies, and it does not appear to be a very maneuverable ability. Taking into account his unknown aspects, we ranked him fourth.

Most Contributing Character Ranking: 5th Place: "Kuga Yuma"

Yuma

One of the main characters of World Trigger, this boy hails from the Near World. Having been involved in combat since childhood, he has mastered the skills and instincts to efficiently defeat enemies. When his Black Trigger is activated, even a group of A-class Border Patrol members are no match for him. His side effect of being able to see through lies is also quite useful. Given his Black Trigger's capabilities and combat experience, it's no exaggeration to say he's the strongest character in PvP.

This is what makes Kuga Yuma so strong

Kuga's combat ability, even when factoring in his Black Trigger, is extremely high. His ability to learn and copy opponents' weapons makes him a versatile trigger capable of dealing with any foe. He's achieved successes such as defeating Visa of Aftokrator using this ability, but his Black Trigger hasn't been used recently, putting him in a somewhat uncertain position. While he has the potential to change the course of battle as an ace killer, his Black Trigger is more passive than proactive, so he's dropped a bit to fifth place. Still, defeating Visa was impressive. No one else could have done it.

[World Trigger 2nd] Ranking of the Strongest Characters by Contribution

We've ranked characters who are likely to contribute greatly to World Trigger. These characters are not only ranked for their pure combat ability, but also for their ability to individually change the course of battle. In fighting game terms, these would be top-ranked characters. These characters are often viewed with caution and countermeasures, but I'd love to see them perform as hidden forces, especially since they're not even considered by characters like Mikumo Osamu! I doubt we'll ever see Mikumo Osamu reach this rank. lol
