The almost dormant official Twitter account has come back to life (for now, it's just posting pictures of beautiful scenery, so it's unclear what the meaning behind those images is). I think many people are eagerly waiting for the release of the second season of "To Your Eternity", and I would like to talk passionately about the highlights of future developments, including spoilers that won't get in the way of watching the anime! Or rather, let me talk! (Pleading)
What brings Fushi, who continues to live a reclusive life on a deserted island, back out into the outside world again...
Many people were probably surprised to see Fushi, who had become middle-aged (though a little young to be called that) at the end of the first season. Shocked by Pioran's death, Fushi retreated to the Sarunain jungle for about 40 years, fighting off the Knockers that occasionally attacked him and living completely cut off from contact with other humans. The fact that he has been able to continue such a solitary life for 40 years makes him fundamentally different from ordinary humans, but a young girl named Hisame, the leader of an organization calling itself "Fushi's Guardians," comes to him in search of him.
What is the lineage of Hisame, the 9-year-old leader of the Guardians, and what is the hidden purpose in her heart...?
Hisame is the granddaughter of Hayase, Fushi's hated enemy. Hayase passed away while Fushi had been living away from contact with others for 40 years. Since Fushi did not notice Hayase's death, it is clear that Hayase's obsession with Fushi was completely unrequited. Fushi is confused by the way Hisame closes the distance between them, but Hisame, who claims to be Hayase's reincarnation, not only has a purpose inherited from his grandmother Hayase, but also hides a secret in his left arm that is out of proportion to his small body. What is that secret...? Find out for yourself when Season 2 airs.
A duo of dark-skinned people meet during their journey. Who are they...?
When Fushi went out to check on the village that had been attacked by the Knockers, a duo of dark-skinned middle-aged men and women appeared before him. They said they had also come to check on the village, but they seemed to know Fushi, who is immortal, very well. However, Fushi, who has lived for 40 years avoiding contact with others, has no idea who they are. Without even asking their names, Fushi travels with the duo, but in fact the duo is the grown-up version of someone Fushi knows well. The twists and turns after parting ways with Fushi and the developments when the identities of the duo are revealed are truly dramatic, but to find out what developments await you, please watch the second season of the anime and be overwhelmed by the weight of 40 years and the strength of human feelings.
Kahaku, the sixth successor of Fushi's Guardians and the first male leader of the Guardians
As Fushi travels from town to town in search of allies to fight against the Knockers' attacks, he is regularly visited by the successor of Fushi's Guardians. As if by genetic inheritance, successors who inherited Hayase's will appeared every other generation, and they were all women, but Kahaku, who appeared before Fushi as the sixth successor, was a man. In the world of "To Your Eternity," women generally give birth to children at around 20 years old and die at around 50 years old, so just from this depiction, we can see that more than a century has passed since the first successor, Hisame. Unlike the previous female successors, Kahaku did not seduce Fushi, but he is a character who falls in love at first sight when Fushi sees the transformed Parona, making for a very interesting role. Will Kahaku be able to teach Fushi, who has lived a life unrelated to love, what love is? This is a point to look out for.
The most promising candidate for the second season. Prince Bon, the most interesting character among the characters!
The character I'm most looking forward to in the second season is Prince Bon, also known as "Bonsheen Nikoli La Tasty Peach = Uralis" (that's a long name). With his silly hairstyle, clothes, remarks and behavior, he should definitely be portrayed as an idiot when he first appears, but he's not just a funny, fashionable character. As befitting a character in "To Your Eternity," Prince Bon also has his own inner conflicts and hidden secrets. Prince Bon's human depths become more and more apparent as the story progresses, so the impression you get from the first impression will be very different from the impression you get later on. I can't wait to see how this will be portrayed in the second season of the anime. By the way, it seems that the voice of Prince Bon will be provided by Koyasu Takehito, and this alone gets me excited!
NHK will definitely do it. They'll show the most gruesome scene in the second season!
NHK, which depicted the extremely dangerous scene in the first season in which a horny Hayase jumps naked onto an unconscious Fushi without any fuss, is sure to do something similar this time, and I'm secretly hoping that they'll do something similar this time. The scene depicts an outrageous development in which Fushi is captured by a certain organization, imprisoned in an "iron prison" with no exit, and molten iron is poured into it. This is probably the result of a serious deduction using the world's technology to find a way to take away the freedom of Fushi, who is an immortal being, but his body, which has been poured with hot iron, naturally burns and crumbles, but continues to regenerate, creating a hellish situation unique to immortal beings. How will this scene be depicted... It will probably be several times more gruesome than I imagined, with movement and sound. But this is a program that will be broadcast on NHK Educational TV. What kind of depiction is educational? Yes, it's really outrageous. Do more (lol)
Summary
There are still many points I'm looking forward to in the second season, but the sad thing about the story of "To Your Eternity" is that no matter what I say, it will mostly be a spoiler. However, no matter how much I talk about it using words and images, it's not hard to imagine that when the actual anime is aired, I will be knocked out by the screen that easily surpasses my predictions. What viewers are hoping for is a viewing experience that completely shatters their sensibilities. The first season was well-received, so the bar that must be cleared is high, but the thought that the day will soon come when we can immerse ourselves in that world again gives hope for life.
