The long-awaited second season of "To Your Eternity" is finally about to begin. Many people have been captivated by the story of encounters and partings between the protagonist, an immortal being, and the people he meets during his eternal journey. There are only a few days left until we can once again enjoy the world of epic fantasy unfolding with overwhelming compositional power, but before the second season begins, let's replay the characters and story from the first season once again!

Fushi

Immortal Protagonist Fushi

The protagonist of this work, as his name suggests, is an immortal being. He was created by the "Observer" to record everything in this world. In its initial state, it is just a "sphere," but it has the ability to change into various forms depending on external stimuli. It can also generate various materials, such as bows and arrows and food. I would like to devote another page to delving into Fushi's character, so I will only give a brief introduction here.

Observer

Mysterious Being

A mysterious being dressed in a black robe, he is the creator of Fushi. He appears and disappears at will and is not seen or heard by anyone other than Fushi. It is known that Fushi was created to record the universe, but his motives are still unknown at this time. He also serves as the narrator of the story, but since his voice actor is Tsuda Kenjiro, I'm sure he's not a good person. (laughs)

Prologue - The beginning of the story

"It" was just a ball at first. It then transformed into a rock covered in moss and remained that way for a long time, but one day an injured wolf died on the rock, so it took on a new form. Having transformed into a wolf, "It" traced its memories back to its former owner, a boy. While waiting for the return of the inhabitants who had departed for a richer land, the boy lived alone in the exiled, frozen frontier village.

A journey to hope ~ A return in disappointment. And then...

The traveling boy and Joan

The boy warmly welcomed the wolf "Joan" back to him, but driven by longing and loneliness, the boy set out on a journey with Joan. However, he was injured during the journey and was unable to continue the journey, and when he returned to the village in disappointment, his injuries worsened and he died. The boy's death became a new stimulus for "it," and when it transformed into the boy's form, it left the village as if to fulfill the boy's unfulfilled dream.

Joan

White-furred Red Wolf, Joan

A white-furred Red Wolf, this is the first creature that Fushi saw. Joan's claws and fangs, rich fur and tough body, and sharp sense of smell will be of great use to him later on during his journey and in battle.

Boy

The first

Joan's owner, about 14 years old. He has beautiful silver hair and a bright personality. His name was not revealed in the story. His abilities are quite ordinary, but this is the appearance that Fushi recognizes as the most "like himself."

Ninanna ~ The "Destiny" of Sacrifice

March takes care of Fushi

March, who lives with his family in the forest village of Ninanna, wanted to grow up quickly, but one day, a priest brought by an envoy from the Yanome Kingdom appeared in the village and chose him as a sacrifice to Oniguma, the guardian of the forest. However, while being escorted to the sacrificial altar, March escaped and had a fateful encounter with Fushi, who was in the middle of being resurrected from death for the umpteenth time.

Oniguma's Altar ~ Seize the Future

Fushi fighting Oniguma

March takes great care of Fushi, who has no humanity whatsoever, but he is found by Yanome's convoy and offered to the Oniguma's altar. Parona, who chased March to save her, was powerless against the giant Oniguma, but just before March was attacked by Oniguma, Fushi rushed in and put up a fierce fight. Oniguma was neutralized by Fushi's fierce attack, which instantly revived even after a fatal blow, and March was saved at the last moment.

March

March with a Smile

A 5-year-old girl living in Ninana. She calls Parona "Nee-nee" and adores her. She longs to become an adult and hopes to become a mother soon. When she was chosen as a sacrifice to Oniguma and was escorted to the altar, she ran away and met Fushi there. It was March who gave her the name "Fushi". She cared for the beast-like Fushi like a mother and gave him the foundation of humanity. She is good at climbing high places such as trees and walls.

Parona

Parona with a bow

A Ninana girl who lives alone on the outskirts of the village, she dotes on March as if she were her own sister. In order to save March, who was chosen as a sacrifice, she pursued the convoy alone. Despite her supple appearance, she has a strong will and courage to resist power and customs, and is a bold person who acts with determination. She used to live in another village, but she was chased out of the village by her older sister after escaping from a sacrificial ceremony.

Oniguma

Roaring Oniguma

A giant bear that is worshipped by people as the guardian deity of the forest. It is characterized by its painful appearance with metal spears piercing its entire body like thorns and bleeding from both eyes and nose, and the overwhelming attack power that can be unleashed from its huge body.

Transportation to Yanome ~ Days of Captivity

March takes care of Oniguma

Fascinated by Fushi's menacing fighting, Hayase transports Fushi, March, Parona, Pioran, and the incapacitated Oniguma to Yanome, Hayase's country. Hayase pretends to welcome them, but drugs are put into their food, and the group becomes prisoners. March is ordered to take care of Oniguma and nurses him devotedly, but the wounds he received in the fight with Fushi never heal, and Oniguma, with a calm expression on his face, dies.

Escape from Prison ~ Farewell and a New Journey

Carriage escaping from prison

Taking advantage of Oniguma's death, the group escapes from the prison, but they get into a fight with Hayase and his men who are chasing them. As Parona fights back, March loses his life shielding Parona from an arrow shot by Hayase. In a fit of rage, Fushi transforms into Oniguma and goes on a rampage through the city. Fushi stops Parona from taking her own life in despair, and the two return to Ninana. However, Hayase's relentless pursuit closes in on Fushi, and he leaves Ninanna behind.

Pioran

Laughing Pioran

A cheerful and free-spirited old woman with a wealth of knowledge from her long life experience. She is from Takunaha and has a lover named Sakejii. She appears in Ninanna with Hayase and chooses March as a sacrifice to Oniguma, but in reality she was just a prisoner of the Yanome country who was forced to pretend to be a priest. When she escaped from the prison with Parona and the others, she got separated from the group, but later reunited with Fushi, and while they continued their journey together, she taught Fushi letters and words. She is good at catching river fish.

Hayase

Hayase, the female warrior of Yanome

A female warrior of Yanome. She is skilled in combat and also uses tactics such as using sleeping pills to knock people unconscious. She is the leader of the group that escorts the sacrifices in Ninana, and since she has been reporting to the higher-ups since returning home, she is thought to hold a certain status in Yanome. He was fascinated by Fushi's fight with Oniguma, and from then on, he began to show a fetishistic obsession with Fushi. He was attacked by Oniguma, who transformed into Fushi, and suffered serious injuries to his face.

The attacker appears - memories are stolen

Fushishi is invaded by the Knocker

After leaving Ninana, Fushi reunites with Pioran. Pioran teaches Fushi words and letters as he travels to his hometown, the seaside town of Takunaha. One night, after crossing the sea and approaching his destination, Takunaha, Fushi is attacked by an unknown enemy. The tree-like "thing" attacks by freely extending its tentacles, taking away Fushi's appearance and memories, but Fushi barely manages to repel the attacker.

Knocker

Knocker's body

An unidentified entity that relentlessly pursues and attacks Fushi. It has a heart-like appearance with tentacles entangled around a sphere. By spreading its tentacles inside, it can control trees, rocks, corpses, humans, and more. The tentacles themselves are also a powerful means of attack, and by stabbing with a tentacle, it can take away Fushi's appearance and memories. If Fushi's appearance and memories are stolen, he will not be able to transform into the object that was stolen.

Takunaha - A Peaceful Life

A happy Googoo and a laughing Rean

After arriving in the seaside town of Takunaha, Fushi and Pioran take refuge with Pioran's lover, Sake-jii, who runs a liquor store on the outskirts of town. A masked boy named Googoo works there. As they live together, Googoo comes to love Fushi like a younger brother. Then, Leen, who Googoo has a crush on, suddenly comes to work as a live-in employee, and Googoo's daily life becomes more lively.

The Story of Googoo - Before He Became a "Monster"

Googoo working at the market before the accident

Googoo used to live with his older brother, Shin, but when his brother accepted an invitation from some bad friends, he ran away from home with the money they had saved together. Googoo becomes aware of the pretty girl Lean he sees at the market, but when he rescues Lean from a huge log that falls from a minecart, his head is crushed by the log and he is seriously injured and near death. He is saved by the help of the old man Sake, but his face becomes hideous and monstrous, and he begins to wear a mask.
