The highly anticipated second season of Tiger & Bunny (commonly known as "Tiger & Bunny"), the anime that first aired in 2011 and garnered much attention, is soon to be released. Tiger & Bunny is a so-called superhero anime about disaster relief and criminal justice, but it's also about office workers who fight for specific companies and wear their sponsored logos. The story's compelling plot has gradually gained popularity since its broadcast, leading to a feature film adaptation and other highly popular titles. This time, we'd like to introduce the staff and main voice cast of Tiger & Bunny!

Tiger & Bunny Season 2 is produced by BNPictures!

Tiger & Bunny Season 2 is being produced by BNPictures. While Season 1 was produced by Sunrise, this doesn't mean there's been any change in production. BNPictures, also known as Bandai Namco Pictures, was spun off from Sunrise and took over several titles, with Tiger & Bunny being one of those titles. In addition to Tiger & Bunny, BNPictures has also worked on anime such as Gintama, the Battle Spirits series, and the Tales of series. In 2018, the Tiger & Bunny series "DOUBLE DECKER! Doug & Kirill" was broadcast, with some of the Tiger & Bunny staff participating.

About Sunrise, the company that produced Tiger & Bunny from the early days of anime

Tiger & Bunny Season 1 was produced by Sunrise, before it became BNPictures. Sunrise is one of the oldest animation studios, known for its numerous robot anime series, including Mobile Suit Gundam. Sunrise's Mobile Suit Gundam series, a pioneer of so-called "real robots," was a pioneering work. While super robot series with a good-versus-evil theme were the norm at the time, Gundam, depicting a war between humans, was a very innovative work. However, while it had a core fan base of middle and high school students during its broadcast, it was not well received by its main target audience of children, and was canceled. It's well-known that Gundam's popularity only took off after its cancellation.

Sunrise is a subsidiary of Bandai Namco Games

Tiger & Bunny fights with the logos of its sponsoring companies on its back, but Sunrise is also a subsidiary of Bandai Namco Games. It offers anime-related toys, similar to Gundam's Gunpla. After Namco merged with Sunrise, it produced anime adaptations of the Tales of series and The Idolmaster. The Idolmaster adaptation, based on the original work, was produced by A-1 Pictures, while Sunrise created another idol anime that became a social phenomenon.

The screenwriter for Tiger & Bunny is Masafumi Nishida!

Masashi Nishida

Masashi Nishida is the screenwriter for Tiger & Bunny. He writes and directs anime and TV dramas, and has a rather unusual background as a former comedian. He has written scripts for TV dramas and films, including "Nobunaga Concerto" and "Hissatsu Shigotonin 2020." Recently, he was responsible for the original story, series composition, and scriptwriting for the anime "Tesla Notes."

The original character designs are by Masakazu Katsura!

zetman

The original character designs for Tiger & Bunny were created by Masakazu Katsura, who serialized "Video Girl Ai" and "I'S" in Weekly Shonen Jump. While he focused on romance-focused works during his time in Jump, he is also known for works featuring transforming heroes heavily influenced by American comics, such as his debut work and "ZETMAN," which was serialized in Young Jump. ZETMAN's style shares many similarities with Tiger & Bunny. While Tiger & Bunny feels influenced by American comics, I personally feel that Masakazu Katsura's designs and worldview are strongly reflected in it.
