"My Hero Academia" is now arguably Jump's flagship manga! While we're all curious about the cool hero, it's also important to know your enemy, as the saying goes: "Know yourself and know your hero." So, this time, we'll introduce 10 key villains who are enemies of our protagonist, Izuku Midoriya. Despite being enemies, they're incredibly fascinating!

The symbol of evil!?

The current leader of the League of Villains?

Shigaraki is angry

First up, this guy! Tomura Shigaraki. He has messy light blue hair, a slender build, dry skin, a slit mouth, and several hands clinging to his upper body. Despite being an enemy, he makes a striking appearance. His Quirk is "Destruction." By using all five fingers on a target, he destroys it to pieces. He hates superhuman society and plotted to assassinate All Might, its symbol. At first, he was somewhat unpopular as an enemy, but he has now grown considerably, gained more allies, and expanded his influence. As we will discuss later, he regards All For One as his "teacher," and their bond seems much deeper than the relationship between All Might and Izuku.

A change of scenery?

Shigaraki is smiling

Source: My Hero Academia © Kohei Horikoshi/Shueisha, My Hero Academia Production Committee

Is he smiling here? His smile is scary (lol). All For One is imprisoned, and All Might has retired from being a hero. With All For One, who had been his constant companion until now, gone, Shigaraki has become the de facto leader of the League of Villains. With All Might's retirement and his Quirk inherited, Deku is now a Plus Ultra hero, striving to become the No. 1 hero. Thus, the No. 1s for good and evil have been swapped. While details about Shigaraki's past have yet to be revealed, we look forward to future developments!

Highly Important!

Shigaraki's Chief of Staff!?

Kurogiri at the bar

Source: My Hero Academia © Kohei Horikoshi/Shueisha, My Hero Academia Production Committee

Speaking of the League of Villains, it's Kurogiri! He's the unsung leader, calming and advising the out-of-control Shigaraki. Despite his frequent appearances, Kurogiri remains shrouded in mystery. His true identity is unknown, and he has no Quirk registration or family register, making him a completely underworld figure. His Quirk is "Warp Gate." He can transform his body into black mist and create a warp gate at a distant location. His offensive power is not particularly high, so he doesn't proactively come forward. He is smart, and even Shigaraki seems to trust him.

What if we capture Kurogiri...?

Kurogiri's Support

As Gran Torino says, "Once we catch him, the rest is a chain reaction," Kurogiri's presence is significant. As long as the exact location is identified, he can infiltrate anywhere, and his advice to Shigaraki is spot-on. His support is also on-point and quick. He's well-known in the underworld, so even though he's not a fighter, he's still a troublesome character. As the story progresses, his past and thoughts will likely be revealed!

Must-See! A Vicious Ideological Criminal!?

The Central Figure of Evil Ideology!?

Angry Stain

Source: My Hero Academia © Kohei Horikoshi/Shueisha, My Hero Academia Production Committee

He has his own unique ideology, and many people agree with it. His real name is Akaguro Chizome, and his villain name is Stain, also known as "Hero Killer." He originally aspired to be a hero, but became disillusioned with the fundamental corruption of the concept of heroes and tried to spread his "return to heroism" through street speeches. However, he gave up on the limits of words and transformed into a murderer. Obsessed with what a hero should be, he has killed or rendered incapable of recovery all those except All Might, treating them as fakes. His ideas spread through the media after Stain's arrest, and they influenced Dabi, Toga, and Spinner, who joined the League of Villains. That was a hell of a lot! (lol)

He was imprisoned...

Stain Attacking

His Quirk is "Blood Coagulation." By ingesting a target's blood, he can incapacitate them for up to eight minutes. As Shoto Todoroki once said, "If you just look at his Quirk, it's not that impressive," Stain's fearsome quality isn't his Quirk, but his powerful offensive power. His endurance, judgment, insight, and agility are all highly skilled. Ultimately, Todoroki, Midoriya, and Tenya Iida were able to restrain him just in time. It's a shame that Stain's abilities weren't as impressive as they could have been if he had been a proper hero. The repercussions of Stain's ideology will continue to reverberate!

His past is also intriguing!

A handsome villain appears!

Glaring Dabi

Source: My Hero Academia © Kohei Horikoshi/Shueisha, My Hero Academia Production Committee

Dabi, who has a zombie-like appearance with patched-up skin, joined the Alliance after being introduced to it by underworld broker Giran after Stain's capture. At first, Shigaraki's attitude and remarks almost caused a conflict, but it seems he has now joined. He has made some pretty bad comments, calling her a "crazy woman" and "creepy," but he's always the one in charge of team battles. He's also quite handsome among the villains, so he's actually quite popular. "Dabi" is not his real name, but a nickname. His real name has not yet been made public, with the company saying it will be revealed "when the time is right." So, his identity and details have yet to be revealed, so it's quite intriguing!

An Infectious Ideology...

Dabi Pretending Not to Know

Source: My Hero Academia © Kohei Horikoshi/Shueisha, My Hero Academia Production Committee

"I will fulfill my will to kill heroes," says Dabi, one of those who embraces Stain's philosophy of "returning to the hero." He seems to have very strong beliefs. After the battle between All For One and All Might, the Alliance members scattered across the country and went into hiding. However, Dabi remained hidden, burning to death anyone who didn't share his beliefs. This shows how deeply religious and ambitious he is. His Quirk hasn't been revealed yet, but he emits blue flames from his hands, slowly burning things. He will likely reign as a leader in the League of Villains!

A cute high school girl...?

He has a twisted way of thinking!

Toga, satisfied after completing her mission

Source: My Hero Academia © Kohei Horikoshi/Shueisha, My Hero Academia Production Committee

She has chestnut-colored hair tied in a side bun. She is always wearing her uniform and generally has a smile on her face and seems to be having fun. Like Dabi, she joined the group through an introduction from underworld broker Giran. Her real name is Toga Himiko. He is a suspect in the serial blood loss incidents and is a highly psychotic killer with distorted thinking. He seems to feel quite comfortable with the Alliance, but during the Shie Hassaikai incident, despite being allied, there was a dispute and he betrayed them with Twice, acting freely. He is also very angry at Overhaul for killing his comrade Magne. This is very human.

Even villains fall in love!?

Toga's Thrill

Source: My Hero Academia © Kohei Horikoshi/Shueisha, My Hero Academia Production Committee

In fact, Toga has a penchant for love. His tastes are also warped: "I like people who smell of blood and are in tatters." He stalks them, imitating them and possessing their belongings, and then, when he's no longer satisfied, he cuts them up and kills them. I definitely don't want her to fall in love with him (lol). She's in love with the hero killer, Stain, and is obsessed with him, calling him "Mr. Stain," but she's also made some bizarre remarks like, "I want to kill Mr. Stain!" She seems to be in love with Deku now, so I'm sure she'll take some kind of action. Her Quirk is "Transformation." By ingesting a target's blood, she can become that target. It's completely impossible to tell if she's infiltrated, so she has a very troublesome Quirk as an enemy.

She's the most obsessed with the Alliance!?

Old wounds never heal?

Twice Raising His Hands

Source: My Hero Academia © Kohei Horikoshi/Shueisha, My Hero Academia Production Committee

This full-body tights suit pays homage to DC Comics' Deathstroke. His real name is Jin Bunbaigawara. Underneath the tights is a silent, short-haired blond man. Wearing the mask seems to calm him down, making him constantly high-spirited and talkative. He also has a split personality and sometimes says the complete opposite of what he said at first, but there's a reason for that. Twice has a large scar on his forehead, and in the past he created many clones of himself and committed evil deeds. However, as time passed, the clones began to fight with each other and kill each other. He was caught up in the crossfire, suffering large scars on his forehead and heart, and the trauma from that point on prevented him from creating clones of his own. He's a difficult villain with many emotional scars, but he loves his comrades in the Alliance and is human in that respect as well.

What's his personality?

Twice Pointing

Source: My Hero Academia © Kohei Horikoshi/Shueisha, My Hero Academia Production Committee

As I mentioned briefly, his Quirk is "Doubling." It's a simple ability to double an object. However, if he were a human, he would need to know his height, chest circumference, shoe size, and other details, so he'll use the tape measure he keeps on his wrist to carefully measure and increase his size! There are many conditions that must be met before it can be activated, but during the forest camp incident, he created several precise cremations to disrupt the situation. The clones will turn to mud if they take a certain amount of damage. He can also determine whether the clones have been killed and where they are. Just like Toga, he can be troublesome if he infiltrates, so care must be taken!

The mysterious entertainer!?

One of them was seriously injured...

Flying Mr. Compress

Source: My Hero Academia © Kohei Horikoshi/Shueisha, My Hero Academia Production Committee

Mr. Compress, the villain who first appeared in the forest camp incident, is actually named Atsuhiro Sako. He is a self-proclaimed magician and wears a white mask over his black mask, although this varies depending on the scene. He is a stylish man wearing a top hat, a long golden yellow trench coat, and white boots. During an overhaul by the Shie Hassaikai, he lost one of his arms, which could be said to be the magician's lifeblood. He now uses a prosthetic arm provided by Giran. His fighting ability is not particularly high, but he can hide his presence and abduct his targets. Watch your back!

A trick or a gimmick...?

Running Mr. Compress

Source: My Hero Academia © Kohei Horikoshi/Shueisha, My Hero Academia Production Committee

Yes, he does (lol). The name of his Quirk hasn't been announced yet, but he can compress his target into a marble (small enough to fit between his fingers). Using this Quirk, he easily kidnapped Bakugo Katsuki and Tokoyami Fumikage. He doesn't attack himself, instead instead focusing on supporting his allies. Mr. Compress's past and his reasons for joining the Alliance are unknown. He'll appear again in future kidnapping attempts, so be careful!

Lizard Man!?

The Weaver of Dreams!?

Knife-Throwing Spinner

Source: My Hero Academia © Kohei Horikoshi/Shueisha, My Hero Academia Production Committee

The villain's name is Spinner, and his real name is Shuichi Iguchi. His lizard-like appearance and clothing are just like Stain's, who he's obsessed with. He's fast and has plenty of offensive power, but he's easily fooled by Mandray's telepathic charms, suggesting he has a simple personality. Spinner also acts based on Stain's ideology. When he sees Izuku on the Alliance's kill list, he stops Magne by saying, "That kid is someone Stain saved! In other words, he's someone worthy of being a hero." What incredible conviction. Despite his appearance, he's the most human and passionate guy.

There's still so much mystery to be discovered!

Angry Spinner

Source: My Hero Academia © Kohei Horikoshi/Shueisha, My Hero Academia Production Committee

He first appeared during the forest camp incident, but his Quirk is still unknown. He has collected many small knives and uses a large sword-like weapon. He sometimes attacks based solely on his emotions, and when he saved Deku, he left himself open and was captured by Manderley. Although he is later rescued by Kurogiri, he is the most simple-minded and reckless member of the League of Villains. He will likely use his Quirk to attack in the future. Spinner is a true fighter, so we need to be wary!

An emotionless monster!?

An evil android appears!

Noumu from the USJ Attack Arc

Source: My Hero Academia © Kohei Horikoshi/Shueisha, My Hero Academia Production Committee

His name is Noumu. He was originally a normal human, but All For One and his doctor created him through several surgeries and numerous drugs, turning him into a monster solely for fighting. He has no will of his own. His fighting ability is on par with, or even surpasses, that of a professional hero. Even All Might's current strength would make him say they were "too strong." Each Noumu also possesses so many Quirks that it's difficult to keep track of them all.

A Wide Variety of Noumu!?

Noumu from the Forest Camp Incident

Source: My Hero Academia © Kohei Horikoshi/Shueisha, My Hero Academia Production Committee

This is Dabi's personal Noumu from the Forest Camp Incident. It has arms with several chainsaws and drills attached to its back. It attacked Awase Yousetsu of Class B and Yaoyorozu Momo of Class A, but luckily escaped danger when the order to retreat was given. Its mechanical noise and massive size were simply terrifying. I'm sure there will be many more types to come!

The true boss of the Villain Alliance, is actually...?

Absolute evil!

Angry All For One

Source: My Hero Academia © Kohei Horikoshi/Shueisha, My Hero Academia Production Committee

All For One, All Might's nemesis, is a bizarre figure with no face except for his mouth, numerous tubes protruding from various parts of his body, and a mask. His real name and villain name are unknown, so he is referred to by his Quirk name. His Quirk allows him to steal other people's Quirks and use them as his own, and then grant them to others.
This scar was sustained five years ago in a battle with All Might. Like All Might, it is a severe after-effect. Now unable to move, he uses Shigaraki to commit evil deeds. He fights All Might again, but is defeated and imprisoned. This effectively makes Shigaraki the leader of the Alliance. His hatred for All Might is genuine, and the actions he takes to achieve it astound All Might.

All Might and Shigaraki

Why did All For One choose Shigaraki? It was because of his hatred for All Might and because he chose him as a form of harassment. Shigaraki's real name is Shimura Tenko. He turns out to be the grandson of All Might's master, Shimura Nana! Even All Might was shocked and fell to his knees. It must be so heartbreaking to fight against the family of your master. It hasn't been revealed how they met, but we look forward to seeing what happens next!
