The anime "The Hero Died!", which will begin airing in April 2023, tells the story of a villager who accidentally kills a hero who was meant to save the world, and ends up becoming the hero and saving the world instead. The villager protagonist of this series is far from a hero in terms of personality, but that's what makes it so interesting! The other characters are also unique, and there are many more to discover. Today, I'd like to introduce the characters of "The Hero Died!"!

Character #1: Touka Scott

Touka Scott

Touka Scott is a young farmer in Cheza Village, southwest of the Central Continent. He has an extreme thigh fetish, so he grows radishes and has a sexual habit of dressing his favorite radishes in knee-socks. He is good at making traps, and once dug a pitfall in case demons attack the village, but the hero who was supposed to save the world fell into the trap and ended up killing him. He is then forced to play the role of hero when the necromancer Henri takes his body hostage. He is perverted and scumbag, dependent on others and cowardly, hardly befitting a hero, and has neither strength nor magical talent. However, he never abandons his allies, and fights using lies, bluffs and cunning as his weapons.

Character #2: Shion Breidan

Shion Breidan

With overwhelming strength and a holy sword wielded only by heroes, Shion Breidan defeated the Demon King and his executives, sealed the Gates of Hell, and saved the world. He possesses a strong and upright character, risking his life for others without expecting anything in return—a true hero of heroes. However, he has a weakness for letting his guard down when faced with his favorite food: meat. This led to his death after falling into a trap set by Touka. Before his death, he left a will to the necromancer Henri, asking for someone to use his body after his death, and Touka will use the hero's body.

Character #3: Yuna Yunis

Yuna Yunis

Touka's childhood friend who lives in Cheza Village. Her nagging personality and perfect looks and figure make her a target for sexual harassment from Touka, but she's also a sassy, stubborn character who always hits back. While her magical power level is low, her martial arts background gives her high combat ability, and she accompanies Touka and Henri on their journey. While her normal magical power level is low at 2, it's later revealed that she uses special equipment to suppress it and prevent her body from being overwhelmed by the overwhelming amount of magical power. Her true magical power level is 50.

Character #4: Henri Haysworth

Henri Haysworth

A necromancer who accompanied the hero Shion and saved the world together. He is able to use the forbidden art of necromancy, and has the ability to freely control the corpses of humans and demons. Following Shion's will, which stated, "I want my body to be used by someone who can save the world after I die," Touka transfers her spirit into Shion's body. Necromancers are originally residents of Hell, and their red eyes and white hair are adaptations to the Hellish environment. Stepping outside the gates presents various obstacles, and their constant runny noses are also a result of these changes.

Character #5: Kyle Ozment

Kyle Ozment

The eldest son of a renowned noble family, Kyle Ozment was part of the party that saved the world alongside the hero. He has a high sense of pride and confidence, but after he was not chosen by the Holy Sword and was shown the difference in his abilities by the hero, Shion, he transcends love and develops hatred. She plots to kill Touka and take the hero's body, but Touka outwits her and leaves her completely naked. Since then, she has frequently been found naked. While she's primarily a comedic character, there's no doubt she's one of the world's most powerful people. She often finds herself fighting alongside Touka and the others, and is a very reliable ally. For some reason, she often fights completely naked, and in fact, she's even stronger when she's naked.

Character #6: Marguerite Farom

Marguerite Farom

The third princess of the Farom Kingdom. Her father, the king, expected her to marry the hero, and to that end she received elite training in all aspects of martial arts, academics, art, and etiquette. However, the pressure and stress of this training caused her to suffer from "Magic Leakage Syndrome," a condition in which magical power is expelled from her body. Due to the effects of Magic Leakage Syndrome, she needs to eat large amounts of food regularly, and has also learned to eat quickly in order to do so. She has a tendency to gain weight quickly after eating. Although her Magic Leakage Syndrome later improves, she continues to gain weight from eating. After a certain incident, she secretly follows the hero and joins his party. Thanks to her elite training, she can handle any weapon and is very reliable in battle, and is particularly skilled with the bow.

Character #7: Larkvald XIII

Larkvald XIII

The king of the Kingdom of Farom. A powerful warrior, he fought on the front lines in the war three years ago. He highly values the hero Sion's abilities and wants to marry his daughter, Marguerite. He exudes a militant aura at every opportunity. In fact, in this work...

Character #8: Leland Tolman

Leland Tolman

A gentle-natured man who runs an orphanage in the capital of the Kingdom of Farom. He is a former court physician and was acquainted with Marguerite. His true nature is that of a mass murderer with an abnormal fetish for bones, and he collects the bones of the citizens of the capital. He plans to imprison Yuna and Marguerite and add them to his collection, but Touka and his friends thwart him and imprison him. After his imprisonment, he becomes insane due to the effects of drugs and begins to cry out, "Honeeeee!"

Character #9: Dot Burns

Mayor

The mayor of Moiran, which was attacked by the necromancer Diego. When the town was attacked and cornered, she fled on horseback, but just before her escape, she actually made a deal with Touka and launched a surprise attack using a magic chariot. Her investments in the town, which she had made for her own selfish gain, earned her the trust of the townspeople, and she now acts to live up to that trust.

Character #10: Horse

Horse

When the town of Moiran was attacked, the mayor tried to escape on this horse. It's just a horse and doesn't even have a name, but it plays an active role in various scenes and, when you think about it, accomplishes some pretty incredible feats. It exudes the aura of one of the strongest characters in the story.

Character 11: Diego Valentine

Diego Valentine

A necromancer who attacked the town of Moiran, he is nicknamed "Blood-Tears Diego" due to his constant stream of tears of blood. He leads a large group of demons, including one with the power to transform into a demon. He himself boasts a magical power level of 40. He has a brutal, battle-crazed personality, and treats even his subordinate demons roughly, earning some demons their animosity.

Character #12: Millie Yunis

Millie Yunis

Yuna's younger sister. A self-proclaimed heroic adventurer, she forms a party with her father, Fieri, her servant, Shannon, and the magician, Dorothy. She's strong enough to win the Western Kingdom's Party Tournament, winning the artificial holy sword "Durandal" as a prize. She intervenes in the battle in the town of Moiran, saving Touka and the others, and then accompanies them until she rescues Yuna.

Character 13: Fieri Yunis

Fieri Yunis

Yuna and Millie's father. A renowned fighter and former one of the Four Knights of the Kingdom of Farom. He's just as perverted as Touka, and a breast-loving alien, he was expelled from the Four Knights due to repeated sexual harassment within the Knights. He's at odds with Touka, who loves thighs.

Character #14: Bellaco

Bellaco

A skilled adventurer who is said to have slain 100 demons three years ago. He exudes a somewhat powerful presence and is respected by both friend and foe, but he generally just watches and doesn't do much. His reputation as a powerful character is rife with rumors, boosting the morale of his allies and further fueling his lucky victories in important battles. He's a character like Mr. Satan from Dragon Ball or King from One-Punch Man.

[The Hero Died!] Character Summary

Here's a roundup of the characters from The Hero Died! There are many more characters in the series than these, but I think these are the ones that will probably appear in the anime. Many other characters will also appear, and there are some characters who appeared early on who will have a much different impression if you watch all the way to the final episode. I don't think all the characters will appear in the first season, but as seasons 2 and 3 air, more will become clear!
