The protagonist of this work, nicknamed Tada-kun or Mitsuyoshi, is a second-year high school student and a member of the photography club. Tada-kun met Teresa while filming Sakura, and from then on his daily life changed dramatically. Unusually for a main character, he doesn't have much of a personality, in a good way, so he tends to get overshadowed by the strong personalities of the other characters, but he is a very kind character who is loved by everyone around him. He has a tragic past, having lost both his parents in an accident when he was young.

The main heroine and the story's most important character. A foreign exchange student from Larsenburg, Europe, she met Tada while lost on the day she arrived in Japan. Her naturally cheerful personality quickly made her friends with everyone and even joined the photography club. Her knowledge of Japan comes from the period drama "Rainbow Shogun," so her old-fashioned behavior can be seen in many places. In fact, her true identity is the amazing Princess Emerald of Larsenburg.

Kaoru Ijuin (voiced by Mamoru Miyano)

Mitsuyoshi's best friend and childhood friend, Kaoru Ijuin is a modern high school student with a frivolous appearance and behavior. Like Mitsuyoshi, he is a member of the photography club, but he is so narcissistic that he always chooses to photograph himself. However, despite his frivolous appearance and behavior, he is a kind character who is very caring towards his friends, and for years has been holding an event called the Ijuin Kaoru Show to ensure that the Tada siblings don't feel lonely on the anniversary of their parents' deaths. Alex won't admit it, but he pretends to be a disappointingly handsome guy, and is actually very popular with the ladies.

Alexandra Magritte (voiced by Shimoji Shino)

A woman who came to Japan with Teresa, nicknamed Alex. She has been serving Teresa since childhood and acts as her special guardian. When alone, she addresses Teresa with honorifics and uses honorifics. She has extraordinary physical abilities, able to jump to the second floor in a single jump and run so fast that she can see afterimages. Her physical abilities also make her skilled in fighting; when they first met, she mistook Ijuin, who was talking to Teresa, for a suspicious person and delivered a light flying kick to him. Although she can be a bit of a straight-laced girl, she is beautiful and perfect at housework.

Hajime Sugimoto (CV: Yuichiro Umehara)

He's the president of the photography club where Mitsuyoshi and his friends are enrolled, and is nicknamed "Pin-senpai." Despite his serious appearance, he has a very unique personality, especially when it comes to gravure idol HINA, where he becomes very passionate and does not tolerate any insults. In reality, the person she loves, HINA, is actually Hinako, her childhood friend and fellow photography club member, but she's an insensitive character who doesn't even notice. Her unfortunate casual clothing adds to her charm.

She is the class representative for Mitsuyoshi's class and is commonly known as the chairman of the photography club. She also works as a gravure idol called HINA. She is childhood friends with the department head Sugimoto and calls him Hajime-chan. She has a quiet personality and usually wears glasses, but when she works as HINA she takes them off and changes to a brighter appearance. She tries to hide her work as HINA from those around her, but Alex finds out at first sight.

Yamashita Kentaro (CV: Shimono Hiro)

The only first-year member of the Photography Club, and a junior of Mitsuyoshi and his friends. He's nicknamed "Yamashita Dog" because of his appearance and his dog-like attachment to Mitsuyoshi. Although he is usually a carefree and cheerful character, he also has a manly side, facing love head-on even when he knows it will never come true. He says he can't lie about his feelings, making him a fine young man.

Yui Tada CV: Inori Minase

Mitsuyoshi's younger sister, a second-year junior high school student. She is generally a bright and kind girl and is loved by everyone. She is a big fan of the work "Sunflower Express: Love Case Files", and gets very excited when talking about it, even recommending it to people like Alex and spreading the word. She secretly has feelings for Yamashita, but everyone except Yamashita can tell from her actions and appearance.

Charles de Loire (voiced by Takahiro Sakurai)

A blonde, second-year university student, a brilliant French aristocrat who also runs a business. He is engaged to Teresa and has come to Japan to see how she is doing, but he seems to have a vague idea of Teresa's true feelings and gives off a slightly sentimental vibe.

Nyanko Big CV: Ari Ozawa (Cat Voice), Akio Otsuka (Inner Voice)

This large cat lives in the Tada family and is the mascot of Tada Coffee Shop. He has lived in the family since he was a child and was originally a relatively small cat. Like most male cats, he has a weakness for female cats and quickly becomes attached to female humans, but on the other hand, he can be extremely aggressive towards Ijuin and Yamashita, and this has led to a blog called "Terrifying Nyanko Big."

Rainbow Shogun (CV: Tsuyoshi Koyama)

The protagonist of a period drama beloved by Teresa and her grandfather. Though thought to be an homage to a certain violent character, he can be quite unreasonable when punishing people. "Name one color of the rainbow," she said. "Oh, red!" "The colors of the rainbow are... rainbow colors!" (laughs)

Yoshiko Yamamura Poiron, voiced by Sayaka Ohara

The protagonist of Sunflower Express, beloved by Yui and Alex. She has a Western-style appearance reminiscent of an old-fashioned shojo manga. Her catchphrase is, "My gray brain cells have started working." What's that? (lol)
