The main character, Katarina, doesn't face the threat of destruction until she turns 15 and starts attending magic school... but from a young age, Katarina has been thinking about what she can do to avoid that threat and trying everything she can. So today, we'll be looking at Katarina as an adult, fighting the threat of destruction... or rather, just before that! We'll be taking a closer look at what kind of life Katarina led as a child.

Katarina's story begins when she turns 8.

Katarina bleeding from her forehead

As I've mentioned in other Katarina-related articles, this is the beginning of Katarina's childhood, so let's revisit it... Katarina's story begins when she was 8 years old. Around this time, she met Geordo, and while clinging to him, they collided, causing her to fall and bleed from her forehead. The shock of the experience brought back memories of her past life. Incidentally, while everyone around her was making a fuss, the injury itself was not serious, and while it was said that it might leave a scar, it was merely her childhood trademark (an X on her forehead).

Due to her injury, Katarina is engaged to the third prince, Geordo!?

Katarina is delighted about her engagement

Katarina herself doesn't take her forehead injury too seriously, but Geordo doesn't feel the same way. Geordo comes to visit her and expresses concern that the injury may affect her future marriage prospects. Katarina, however, is lost in thought, ignoring Geordo's concerns about the hassle of making her debut into society. Later, Geordo asks for her consent, and Katarina agrees. After Geordo leaves the room, the maid, Anne, excitedly runs up to Katarina and congratulates her on her engagement. It's only then that Katarina realizes she's engaged to Geordo.

Katarina Realizes She's the Villainess

Katarina Panic-Stricken as She Looks in the Mirror

As Katarina holds a mirror and thinks about the otome game she played in her previous life, she suddenly remembers a character named Geordo, a scheming prince, featured in the game. Furthermore, remembering her upbringing and her rival villainess, Katarina investigates further and becomes convinced that this world is the world of the otome game "FORTUNE LOVER" that she played in her previous life.

Threat of Ruin! Katarina's Brain Meeting Begins!

Katarina's Brain Meeting

In her previous life, Katarina died in a traffic accident at the young age of 17. Her wish this time is to live a long life. To achieve this, she must avoid the disastrous endings of death or exile. So Katarina holds her first mental strategy meeting to avoid the Catastrophe Ending. The answer she comes up with is to "improve her swordsmanship and magical power." Having agreed to learn swordsmanship from her teacher, Katarina takes action to hone her magical powers.

Katarina Tills the Field to Increase Her Magical Power

Katarina Working in the Field

Katarina's magic is the most common earth element, and it's weak, only able to raise a small 2-3cm bump in the earth. While reading a book to train her feeble magical powers, Katarina came across the phrase "conversation with the source of magical power." Thinking that conversing with the source of magical power = conversing with the earth, Katarina remembered what her grandmother had said in her previous life: "Cultivating a field is like having a conversation with the earth." Despite being given strange looks by those around her, she began to till the field quite seriously. Incidentally, this routine continued even when she turned 15, to the point where she even brought tools to school to cultivate the field.

The Second Doom Flag: The Arrival of Keith

An Excited Katarina and Keith

Shortly after her engagement to Geordo, a boy named Keith is adopted by the Claes family, giving Katarina a stepbrother. Keith is also one of the characters in "Fortune Lover," and in the game, Katarina interferes with Keith and Maria's relationship, leading to a disastrous ending where she is either exiled or murdered. Katarina knew that Keith's loneliness was related to their meeting, so she actively interacted with him to prevent him from feeling lonely. Thanks to her efforts, Keith grew up without feeling lonely, but...

Meeting Mary Hunt, Her First Female Friend

Mary and Katarina

Katarina was cultivating her fields to increase her magical power, but she was struggling to grow vegetables properly. Then, a relative introduced her to her first tea party. Seeing the blooming flowers in Mary's garden, Katarina immediately invites her over to her house to ask for advice. With Mary's help, Katarina's garden has completely recovered. Seeing Mary's health, Katarina praises her, calling her "green hands." However, these words were originally meant to be spoken by her fiancé, Alan, and because Katarina said them herself, Mary began to develop special feelings for Katarina.

The Arrogant Prince, Alan, Makes His Appearance

Katarina and Alan making peace signs

Alan is the twin brother of Geordo, to whom Katarina is engaged, and Mary's fiancé. One day, he unexpectedly visits Katarina, declaring, "Don't tempt Mary!" Ever since Katarina called her "green hands," Mary has held Katarina in a special position, and even after their engagement, she prioritizes Katarina over Alan! Their conversations are all about Katarina! As this continued, Alan mistakenly thought Katarina was trying to seduce Mary. The two eventually competed in a tree-climbing contest, and before he knew it, Alan was drawn to Katarina's idiocy.

Beautiful Siblings: Nicole and Sophia

Katarina and Sophia

Obsessed in romance novels, Katarina went to a party hosted by Geordo and Alan one day in search of fellow romance novel lovers. There, she met Sophia, a beautiful girl with white hair and red eyes. Upon learning that Sofia was knowledgeable about romance novels, Katarina immediately invited her to her home, just as she had done with Mary. Katarina looked forward to the day she could meet Sofia. Finally, on the appointed day, when she went to pick her up, she found a stunningly beautiful young man there... He was none other than Sofia's brother, Nicole, one of the game's main characters.
