The second season of the anime "My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!," which began airing in April 2020, will begin in July 2021! The story follows the protagonist, who is reincarnated as a villainess in an otome game, a character who is doomed almost no matter how the story unfolds. She tries to avoid her downfall by any means necessary, but instead ends up being liked by all the characters she captures, and unconsciously ends up seducing the original protagonist and their rival characters. The first season was a huge hit, and there are high hopes for the second season, so here we've summarized the contents of episodes 7 to 12, the second half of the first season's story! Episode 7: Entering a Dangerous Dungeon...
Sofia was having a sad dream. It was about a highly developed world without swords or magic. At the time, Sofia's name was Atsuko Sasaki, and her friends called her Atchan. Atchan was also introverted, but she made friends with a female student who had a similar personality to Katarina now, and they spent their days happily talking about otome games. However, that life came to an abrupt end. That friend was killed in a traffic accident. When Sofia woke up, she no longer remembered the contents of her dream.

Katarina and her friends enter an ancient dungeon as a practical exam to advance to the next grade. Entering a dungeon riddled with traps, Katarina, Sophia, Keith, and Geordo struggle due to Katarina's inability to resist pressing any button she sees. However, the remaining three are exceptionally skilled, and they navigate their way deeper into the ruins, overcoming the traps along the way. However, along the way, Katarina gets caught in a dust chute-like trap and becomes separated from the other three.

Katarina continues to gather strangely colored mushrooms to prevent starvation. However, along the way, her foothold collapses, putting her in dire straits. It's Sophia who uses the magic of wind to track down Katarina's location. Sophia desperately tries to save her, but she lacks the strength to pull her up. At that moment, a mysterious wind rescues Katarina and Sophia. Katarina is lucky to avoid destruction, but Maria, who arrives, senses something ominous.
Episode 8: Covered in Desire...
Katarina and Mary head to the library to study, but they bump into the usual group along the way and end up going to the library together. There, Katarina picks up a strange book. Upon opening it, everyone except Maria and Mary is sucked into it. The book feeds on people's desires, and each character's desires are reflected within it.

Geordo, Keith, Nicole, and Sophia all desire to make Katarina their own. The story unfolds like a world of a girl's game, with no hint of doom or gloom. Mary and Maria, witnessing this so vividly, can't bear to watch and close the book. Alan's story was similar, but Mary quickly closed the book due to time constraints, so it ended in an instant.
Episode 8③
Mary and Maria search for a way to free everyone. They then realize that the story of Katarina's desire remains. They reopen the book and Katarina's story begins. In Katarina's story, a hungry Katarina eats candy at an incredible rate. Katarina continues to gain weight, but her suction to the sweets continues. Thinking something is wrong, the two try to close the book, but the closed book continues to expand and burst. Finally, everyone is freed. It's explained to them that this is her desire, and Geordo, Keith, and Sophia get up and leave in embarrassment. Alan was innocent, so it didn't bother him.
Episode 9: The Pajama Party Got Too Excited...
Although Katarina successfully advanced to the next grade, she still had one concern. She was worried that the game's "Condemnation Event"—her bullying of Maria—could lead to her downfall. However, almost all the main characters had feelings for Katarina. While Alan, Nicole, and Maria were still better off, everyone else had a passionate crush on her, and only the maid, Anne, realized she wanted to make her her own.

The maid, Anne, is the daughter of a distant noble relative of the Claes family and her servant. After her mother died in a fire and she sustained burns to her arm, Anne could no longer be used as a tool for a political marriage, so she was practically abandoned and sent to work for the Claes family. Katarina was initially arrogant and selfish, but after hitting her head and going crazy, she began to attract people regardless of who she met. Anne, herself, was saved by Katarina when her family tried to force her into marriage, and she came to trust her wholeheartedly.

Katarina holds a pajama party and sleepover with the girls, and while the conversation turns to romance, it doesn't turn into anything sexy. Katarina is an insensitive protagonist, and she manages to snatch all the events that should have occurred between the other girls and the boys, smashing the flags. Afterward, Katarina sends Geordo a letter inviting him to the garden, but naturally, it's not a sexy conversation, and everyone else is invited, too. Geordo thoughtfully gives Katarina a pair of gardening scissors as a gift, and everyone else also receives gardening scissors as gifts. Such romantic flags were not raised for Katarina.
Episode 10: The Time of Ruin Has Arrived... Part 1
One day, the event Katarina feared most occurred. It was a condemnation event in the game, where Katarina's misdeeds were exposed and ruined. Normally, one of the game's targets would be the one to condemn Katarina, but it was a group of nameless ladies who came forward with evidence of Katarina's misdeeds. It turns out they had detailed evidence that Katarina had harassed Maria on numerous occasions.

The young ladies who made the accusations had targeted Katarina, but it seemed unlikely they would have been capable of such action, and it would have been difficult to prepare such impressive documents. It was clear that some other motive was involved.

Maria, who possesses the magical power of light, sensed something ominous about this incident. Then, during lunch break on the day of the incident, Maria disappeared. Furthermore, the young ladies who tried to condemn Katarina had no idea where she obtained the documents or why she did what she did. It was possible that they were being manipulated by someone. And only dark magic could have done that. Meanwhile, Katarina encounters a certain person and remembers something important. "FORTUNE LOVER" contains a hidden character, who, depending on how you play, can lead to a shockingly bad ending. That character was none other than the student council president, Sirius Deeks, whom Katarina had encountered.
Episode 10, Part 4
Sirius was the one who used dark magic to try to ruin Katarina and kidnapped Maria. Remembering the game, Katarina couldn't help but question Sirius about the dark magic. Sirius then reveals that he had been acting like an honor student until now, that he had kidnapped Maria, and that he could not forgive Katarina for being kind and well-liked by everyone. He then uses dark magic to send Katarina into a deep sleep.
Episode 11: The Time of Destruction Has Arrived... Part 2
Katarina wakes up to a hectic morning, just like any other. It's not a fantasy world, but an ordinary, everyday life in a modern-day Japanese home, just like Katarina's in her previous life. She goes to school as usual, chats with friends about otome games as usual, and spends time with her family as usual. Even though her daily life is just like any other, Katarina feels as if she's forgetting something important.

Sirius's dark magic has kept Katarina asleep for two whole days. Doctors can't pinpoint the cause, and it's unclear whether she'll ever wake up. While everyone is in despair, someone speaks to Sophia in her head. The figure is that of a girl who was Katarina's best friend in her previous life, and Sophia rushes to her side after being told to go to Katarina. Everyone else gathers around her.
Episode 11 Part 3
When Katarina goes to the classroom after school, she finds her best friend, Atsuko Sasaki, there. She tells her that this is not her world, that there are people waiting for her there. Then, she hears a voice calling her name. She remembers that she is Katarina Claes. At the same time, the world they are in collapses, and they say goodbye to Atsuko before returning to the world of "FORTUNE LOVER." After waking up, Katarina is told in a dream that Sirius is where he is, and rushes to the warehouse where Maria is being held captive. After rescuing Maria, Katarina and the others go deeper into the warehouse and confront Sirius, who is under the control of dark magic.
Episode 12: The Final Event Has Arrived...
Sirius was the child of Duke Dick and his maid. Driven mad by jealousy, the Duchess used dark magic to transfer the memories of the real Sirius, who was nearing the end of his life. His mother was killed as a sacrifice, and the man who performed the ritual was also killed to silence him. However, the ritual was not successful, and only the memories and knowledge of the real Sirius were passed on. After that, Sirius pretended to be the real Sirius, waiting for an opportunity to exact revenge, in keeping with his mother's final words, "avenge me."

After Sirius unleashed his dark powers, Katarina approached him, risking her life, and said, "I'll be there for you when you're in trouble," calling his real name. This reminded Sirius of his real name and that his mother's final words were not about exacting revenge. It was the dark magician's grudge that had been planting false memories in Sirius and fueling his desire for revenge. After shaking off the magician's grudge, Sirius was freed from his dark powers and desire for revenge, and the incident was resolved. Sirius left the school, but the Duchess's crimes were also exposed.

Thus, Katarina avoided the bad ending where everyone dies, but she still can't relax. Depending on the outcome of the second-year graduation party, Katarina will either be deported or killed. However, Katarina has made various preparations for this day. She attends the party with determination, but in the end, Maria does not end up with anyone. This is what's called a friendship ending in the game, and while it would normally be a bad ending, for Katarina, it's the best ending without being deported or killed.
Episode 12, Part 4
Thus, Katarina has smashed all the flags of doom and achieved peaceful days...or so it seemed. However, it was a big mistake. A second season of "My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!" has been confirmed. This means Katarina's destruction flags continue even further. Season 2 of "My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!" is scheduled to air in 2021.
