With its hilarious comedy elements, slightly serious moments, and various romantic elements, "Hamefura" is packed with highlights in many ways, and of course, each scene is filled with memorable quotes and scenes. This time, we'll be introducing those famous quotes and scenes in a ranking format! Check out not only the main character, Katarina, but also her companions!

Tenth Place: Katarina's Condemnation Event

The Two Confronting Each Other

Our tenth place pick is the scene in which Katarina, who is living an ordinary daily life, suddenly experiences the same "Katarina's Condemnation Event" as in the game. In the game, this is where Katarina is doomed to a disastrous ending. However, in this world, Katarina is trusted by her friends and the students around her, and Maria and the prince, who would have been her enemies, become her allies and save her from peril. This scene marks a major turning point in the story, and it's also interesting to see how her friends, who protect her, view her.

No. 9: Katarina's Internal Strategy Meeting Scene

Katarina Holding a Meeting

Our ninth-place pick is the "strategy meeting" Katarina holds whenever she's in a pinch or has a problem. There are five Katarinas living in Katarina's head, and when a problem occurs, these five people hold a meeting. The members in Katarina's head are "Basic Katarina," "Chairman Katarina (bearded)," "Glasses Katarina (fashion glasses)," "Young Lady Katarina (strong-willed)," and "Young Lady Katarina (timid)." While each character has their own unique personality, they're all Katarina, so it's not like there are any particularly strong opinions (lol).

Eighth Place: The Scene Where Katarina Gets Scolded by Her Mother

Katarina Panicked

The scene I chose for eighth place is the interaction with Katarina's mother, who is also her nemesis. While she's by no means a bad mother, she often gets furious at Katarina for living her life as she pleases, unbecoming of a noble lady. This wasn't just at home, but even after she entered the school, when she heard a rumor that "there's a student farming at the school," she was convinced it was Katarina and gave her a three-hour lecture. When Geordo came to propose to her as a child, she was working in the fields. Rather than getting angry, she collapsed in shock. However, it was all for the sake of discipline, and when a misunderstanding led to a divorce scandal, he tried to pick her up and leave the house, suggesting he still had affection for her.

Seventh Place: Scenes in which Katarina Works in the Fields

Katarina Working in the Fields

Seventh place is the scene in which Katarina works in the fields. After learning that "communicating with magic" is necessary to increase magical power, Katarina began working in the fields from a young age, but at some point she no longer just worked to increase her magical power, but instead began to get serious about it. When working in the fields, she wears a headscarf and work clothes, and plows the fields with a hoe. When she enrolls in the magic academy, the maid Anne objects and everything is confiscated from her luggage, but she asks the gardener Tom to bring it to school. Incidentally, the academy grows flowering vegetables such as cucumbers and eggplants, and she insists that it is a flower bed, not a field.

Sixth Place: Scenes in which Katarina Eats Appetizingly

Katarina Eating Sweets

Sixth place goes to Katarina's meal scenes. Katarina's voracious appetite has often lightened the mood and helped her bond with friends. (Though it sometimes gets her in trouble...) Geordo realizes that sweets are the perfect way to lure Katarina, who is insensitive to romantic matters, and when he invites her to his room at the school dorms, he often tells her he has some rare sweets. After becoming close with Maria, he's even seen her eating sweets outside, carrying a large basket. However, her voracious appetite has led Geordo and Keith to believe that even at age 15, she still picks up fallen food.

Fifth Place: The Scene Where She Breaks Down a Door with an Axe to Talk to Keith

Katarina Breaks Down a Door with an Axe

Fifth place is the scene where Katarina breaks down a door to go see Keith. When they were children, Keith hurt her with his magic and locked himself in his room. When she woke up, she went to Keith's room to apologize. However, Keith had similarly hurt his brother with his rampaging magical powers in the past, so he retreated to his room in a depressed state. Keith also had a spare key, so Katarina had no way to get into the room. So she decided to... smash the door down with an axe! After apologizing to Keith, everything was resolved peacefully, but as usual, Katarina received a lecture from her mother.

Fourth Place: The Scene Where Katarina Complains to the Game Developer

Katarina Venting Her Anger at the Creator

Fourth place is the scene where Katarina complains to the game developer about how unfair her life has become. As the title suggests, in the game, Katarina's life is one that is doomed no matter how hard she tries. Then, along comes Mary, a young lady in a similar situation to Katarina, who is in danger of losing her fiancé Alan to Maria, the main character. However, in the game, Mary can only end up in one of two places: an ending in which Alan is taken away from her but she congratulates him with tears, or an ending in which she ends up united with Alan. Enraged by the difference between her own chances of either death or exile, Katarina finally begins to vent her anger at the development staff.

Third Place: A Word Geordo Spoke at Katarina's 15th Birthday Party

Smiling Geordo

My third place pick is this line Geordo said at Katarina's birthday party. Katarina wanted to break off her engagement with Geordo to avoid the "Damage Flag," but when Geordo brought it up, he immediately refused. Geordo reiterated his feelings during the party dance, but the insensitive Katarina didn't get it at all... Geordo then hugged Katarina, saying, "It'd be quicker to just create a fait accompli about this now." At that moment, Katarina panicked, thinking she had accidentally stepped on Geordo's foot while dancing. Seeing her like that, Geordo laughed and said, "You're really defenseless no matter how old you are. If you keep acting like this, I could easily take you away anytime."

Second Place: The Scene Where Katarina Threatens the Young Ladies Who Are Harassing Maria

Katarina with a Sinister Look

Second place goes to the scene where she appears when Maria is in trouble and threatens the young ladies. Katarina glares at the young ladies and chases them away when they try to ruin the sweets Maria made, but when Maria is about to be harmed by fire magic, she makes a serious threat. With her arms crossed and a grin on her face, Katarina threatens them, saying, "You guys... if you keep doing this... you'll be ruined." The young ladies are so impressed by her force that they cry and leave the scene. Incidentally, the friendship event between Katarina and Maria that occurs after this is also a great scene, so please enjoy watching until that point.

Number 1: Maria's Confession Scene to Katarina

Smiling Maria

Our top pick isn't Katarina's famous quote... but the scene where Maria confesses her feelings to Katarina! This scene is also the final scene in the game "FORTUNE LOVER," where the protagonist, Maria, confesses her feelings to the person she has a crush on. However, in this game, Maria's crush is Katarina Claes. So, Maria confesses her feelings to Katarina. Her words at the time were, "It's you, Lady Katarina, who I care about, who I adore, and who I want to be by your side forever," and finally, "Please let me be by your side forever, Lady Katarina," the same words Maria says to her final target in the game.

By the way, Katarina's reaction to Maria's confession was...

Katarina holding back her hair

Even though the other person was a girl, this was all a confession, plus Katarina already knew in the game that it was a line the protagonist would say to his target. Even if she was insensitive to romance, she would still notice... or so you'd think. Instead, she couldn't understand why he said it to her, and when she saw her friends having fun (fighting over her), she interpreted it as a "friendship ending"...
