The fifth season of My Hero Academia, also known as Hiroaka, will begin in April! With this, the number of characters and the variety of Quirks appearing have grown exponentially. This time, we'll be introducing the Quirks of the protagonist Deku, his classmates in Class 1-A at U.A. High School, and their teacher, Eraser Head!

U.A. High School Class 1-A Homeroom Teacher, Shota Aizawa (Eraser Head) Quirk: Eraser Head

Eraser Head

The homeroom teacher of Class 1-A. While he may appear to be a listless, unattractive old man, he's actually an extremely rationalist. In the past, he has even used his authority to expel an entire class. His Quirk is the ability to temporarily erase the Quirks of anyone he stares at. When the effect is activated, his eyes turn red and his hair stands on end. Because he suffers from dry eyes, he cannot use the ability for long periods of time, and blinking cancels it. Since the erasure ability itself is not lethal, he uses a string-like weapon made of carbon fiber woven with a special alloy.

U.A. High School, Class 1-A - Izuku Midoriya - Quirk: One For All

Izuku Midoriya

The protagonist of My Hero Academia. His Quirk is the ability to store power and transfer it to another person. Originally quirkless, he inherited One For All after being discovered by All Might, who was searching for a successor. The ability was thought to be a physical boost, but as mentioned above, its true power is the ability to inherit and pass on power. The output of the power accumulated over generations is so powerful that it can destroy one's own body in recoil, making it a double-edged sword in that if used poorly, one's own body will break down first. Izuku's generation has also gained access to the quirks of past inheritors, and it is now known that he has the abilities of levitation, black whip, and crisis detection.

U.A. High School, Class 1-A, Katsuki Bakugo, Quirk: Explosion

Katsuki Bakugo

Izuku's childhood friend, a genius and violent boy. His talents made him a troublemaker and an honor student who never gave up until he enrolled at U.A. His Quirk allows him to secrete a nitro-like substance from the sweat glands in his palms. Combined with his own combat acumen, he excels at blinding and explosive attacks, allowing for flight and mobility. His firepower is also extremely high, making this a highly versatile ability. The more he moves, the more his sweat glands open, making his power increase the longer the battle continues, but he's a bit slower to start in winter.

U.A. High School, Class 1-A, Shoto Todoroki, Quirk: Half-Cold, Half-Hot

Shoto Todoroki

Shoto Todoroki is a genius in Class 1-A, rivaling Bakugo. His Quirk combines the powers of fire and ice, making him exceptionally powerful, with both power and scale. He inherited his father, Endeavor's fire-controlling Quirk, and his mother's ice-controlling Quirk, but due to complicated family circumstances, he initially did not use his father's fire-controlling ability. An incident at the sports festival prompted him to confront his father's Quirk, and he subsequently began using both powers.

U.A. High School, Class 1-A, Ochaco Uraraka, Quirk: Zero Gravity

Ochaco Uraraka

The heroine of My Hero Academia. Since meeting Izuku during the entrance exam, she has often been with him. Her Quirk is the ability to neutralize gravity on contact. Her tolerance range is about 3 tons, and exceeding this limit can cause her to become dizzy and, in the worst case, vomit. By applying this ability, she can also levitate. While levitating an opponent can neutralize most enemies, she seems to be careful not to accidentally use it, as her Quirk can kill people using potential energy.

U.A. High School, Class 1-A, Tenya Iida, Quirk: Engine

Tenya Iida

The class president is a serious and somewhat inflexible student. His Quirk is an engine, and he has engines attached to his feet, allowing him to move at high speeds. He can run 50 meters in 3 seconds, and during school trips, he uses this power to call for help and save his friends from difficult situations. He fuels his car with 100% orange juice, and carbonated drinks cause it to stall. The Iida family also share the same Quirk. His older brother was a hero under the name Ingenium, but was injured in a battle with a villain, forcing him to retire.

U.A. High School, Class 1-A, Tsuyu Asui, Quirk: Frog

Tsuyu Asui

An honor student who maintains a poker face and always acts with calm judgment. She's valued for her mental strength rather than her abilities, but she's also quite sensitive, even if she doesn't show it. Her Quirk is Frog. She can do pretty much anything frog-like. Her underwater abilities, jumping ability, long tongue, and wall-clinging make her a highly versatile Quirk. However, she doesn't like the cold and will hibernate if she's not careful.

U.A. High School, Class 1-A, Kirishima Eijiro, Quirk: Hardening

Kirishima Eijiro

He's a manly, tough, and reliable guy who never gives up. However, in middle school, he was timid and his Quirk wasn't very strong, which led to a strong inferiority complex. His Quirk is Hardening. It's a very obvious Quirk that makes him harden, and the hardened parts become as sharp as blades. While it's a powerful Quirk in terms of offense, it's also extremely effective defensively. It's later revealed that the more he hits, the stronger he becomes.

Yoyorozu Momo, Class 1-A, U.A. High School, Quirk: Creation

Yoyorozu Momo

She's a brilliant young lady, a recommended student at U.A., and a gifted student of both academics and sports, but as a young lady, she's a bit naive and otherworldly. Her Quirk allows her to imagine any inanimate object from its internal substances. It's a powerful Quirk that allows her to create anything for any purpose and be versatile enough to adapt to any situation. At its core, however, is her knowledge of the powers required for creation. However, she also has weaknesses: a time lag in activating her powers makes her initial reaction slow, and her Quirk places great demands on her, including good judgment and mental strength.

U.A. High School, Class 1-A, Tokoyami Fumikage, Quirk: Dark Shadow

Tokoyami Fumikage

A hero boy with a chuunibyou syndrome. While not the type to show off much, he is an excellent student, excelling in both practical and written tests. His Quirk is "Dark Shadow," which allows him to control egocentric, jet-black monsters. While this Quirk is extremely powerful, excelling in offensive, defensive, and mobility, it weakens when exposed to strong light. In the dark, his abilities increase and he goes into a rampage. Although he has a chuunibyou syndrome, everything he says is pretty much true.

U.A. High School, Class 1A, Minoru Mineta, Quirk: Mochi Mochi

Mineta Minoru

A small, perverted male student with extraordinary desires. His reason for wanting to become a hero is an impure desire to be popular, but when perversions become involved, he displays incredible drive. His Quirk is the ability to create sticky balls from his head. The Mochi Mochi balls he creates have incredible adhesive power, and when Mineta holds them, they bounce. While not particularly well-suited for combat, their lack of lethality allows him to neutralize enemies without harming them. He's perverted and timid, but when his friends are in danger, he doesn't run away but stands up to them. He's a man of determination when it matters. Despite his appearance, his written grades are average.

U.A. High School, Class 1-A, Kaminari Denki, Quirk: Electric Charge

Kaminari Denki

He's a cheerful, playful male student who always sets the mood. Contrary to his appearance, his Quirk is incredibly powerful, allowing him to charge and release extremely powerful electrical shocks. However, if he uses it too much and exceeds his capacity, he becomes an idiot, his face becomes a silly expression, and he starts repeating the phrase "Yeeeeee." Despite this, his Quirk is extremely powerful and effective in combat.

U.A. High School, Class 1-A, Hibiki Jiro, Quirk: Earphone Jack

Hibiki Jiro

A straightforward, musical girl. Her Quirk is an earphone jack that emits a loud ultrasonic sound when plugged into the ear. She can manipulate the cord to a certain degree, making it versatile. In addition to being used as an attacking tool, it can also be used to locate enemies by sound, and can detect footsteps by inserting it into the ground or a wall.

U.A. High School, Class 1-A, Sero Hanta, Quirk: Tape

Sero Hanta

A friendly and cheerful male student. He often hangs out with Mineta, teaming up for final exams and other occasions. His Quirk allows him to shoot tape from his elbow. He can use the tape to move in three dimensions, attract objects, wrap them around them, and create traps. Since he shoots sticky threads, it's not surprising that he resembles Spider Man from a certain American comic. I think he could actually perform these kinds of movements.

U.A. High School, Class 1-A, Yuuga Aoyama, Quirk: Neville Laser

Yuuga Aoyama

A narcissistic and free-spirited male student. His words and actions are often mysterious, and it's hard to tell what he's thinking, but he also analyzes his teammates closely. His Quirk is the Neville Laser, which fires a high-powered laser from his abdomen. He can use the recoil of the laser to move, but since the laser cannot bend, the trajectory is monotonous. He also has a weakness: if he uses it too much, he gets an upset stomach.

U.A. High School, Class 1-A, Ashido Mina, Quirk: Acid

Ashido Mina

A flashy-looking girl with pink hair, pink skin, and tentacle-like horns. She's a very energetic girl, and has been the center of attention since middle school. Her Quirk is the ability to secrete a dissolving liquid from her body using acid. While it can be used as an offensive weapon, it can also be used to dissolve the ground for emergency evasion, or to wrap herself in acid for defense. However, if the acid's strength is not properly adjusted, it can not only dissolve clothing but also harm herself.

U.A. High School, Class 1-A, Shoji Mezo, Quirk: Duplicating Arms

Shoji Mezo

He's a tall, quiet, and cool-headed boy. However, in reality, he's a passionate student who cares deeply for his teammates. His Quirk allows him to control two tentacles and replicate organs such as a mouth and eyes at the tips of their tentacles. This also seems to enhance his senses, making him powerful in the sense of simply enhancing his five senses. His tentacles are so powerful that his pure combat ability is also high. His power is similar to that of the Hana Hana no Mi, a fruit featured in One Piece.

U.A. High School, Class 1A, Oshiro Saruo, Quirk: Tail

Oshiro Saruo

He has a plain face, a kind personality, and is a hard worker. He's not quirky, but he's also strict with himself and hates crookedness. His Quirk allows him to control his powerful tail. He can freely manipulate his tail for attack, defense, and even transportation. It's a very simple Quirk, and compared to his other Quirks, it's rather understated. Despite this, Saruo's strength is due to his well-trained physique and skills honed through martial arts.

U.A. High School, Class 1-A, Hagakure Toru, Quirk: Invisibility

Hagakure Toru

She's a cheerful female student, but her appearance is unknown due to her invisibility. Her invisibility makes her body invisible, with only her clothes floating. It's currently unknown whether she can voluntarily disable invisibility or whether she remains invisible forever. Since she can't be seen by anyone while wearing clothes, her Quirk is ideal for reconnaissance and stealth, but she has almost no combat ability. When she gets serious, she becomes completely naked, which she apparently doesn't mind.

U.A. High School, Class 1-A, Rikido Sunato, Quirk: Sugar Dope

Rikido Sunato

A male student with a sturdy build and the appearance of a professional wrestler. He bears a slight resemblance to Kinnikuman. His Quirk, Sugar Dope, temporarily enhances his physical abilities by consuming sugar in the body. For every 10g of sugar, he can perform five times his normal physical abilities for three minutes. However, overuse reduces brain function, causing drowsiness and fatigue. Furthermore, the effect's short duration makes him unsuitable for endurance battles. Due to the nature of his Quirk, he often makes his own sweets, and his skill is highly praised by girls.

U.A. High School, Class 1A, Koji Kuda, Quirk: Animal Voice

Koji Kuda

A male student with a distinctive, rock-like head. Contrary to his appearance, he is quiet and shy, but has a very kind heart. His Quirk is Animal Voice, which allows him to communicate with and control animals. While this is a unique Quirk, due to its nature, if there are no animals around, he is essentially Quirkless. Furthermore, this ability is extremely unstable in combat, as animals are frightened and avoid places with loud noises. However, it is extremely useful for information gathering and reconnaissance. I hate bugs, so I didn't try to control them, but it's possible, and I've been actively using it since the final exams.

[My Hero Academia] Quirks of Class 1-A

I've put together a summary of the Quirks of the characters in Class 1-A, including Izuku! I'm sure some of them will play an important role in the future, and their growth, not just Izuku's, is one of the highlights of My Hero Academia! The fifth season of the anime started in April, and My Hero Academia, currently serialized in Jump, is developing quite interestingly, so there's even more to look forward to in the future! I'm not only interested in Izuku's One For All, but also in the episodes involving Todoroki and Endeavor, and the actions of the villains!
