When ranking anime, it's impossible not to mention the iconic scenes! Every anime has its share of iconic scenes, and Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin features countless. This time, we'll be introducing the top 10 scenes, ranked from the most tear-jerking to the coolest!

10th Place: Zeon Military Academy Entrance Ceremony Scene

Char Wearing Sunglasses

Number 10 is the scene where Char attends the military academy entrance ceremony! When we think of Char, we think of his helmet and goggles, but at the entrance ceremony, he doesn't wear them; instead, he wears sunglasses due to an eye condition. From this moment (or, more precisely, when he boards the ferry), Casval begins living as Char. Incidentally, those familiar goggles were prepared for Char by the man sitting next to him.

No. 9: Dozle and Zena's First Meeting

Dozle and Zena

I chose this scene for ninth place because, looking back on it after watching all the episodes, it's quite thought-provoking. The image shows Dozle pinning down Zena, who was trying to restrain him with a gun. This was the first contact between the two, who would later marry. I never imagined they would get married so quickly after this situation.

Surprising? Dozle is a machine for creating memorable scenes!

Surprised Dozle

Dozle may look tough on the outside, but he's actually kind and passionate inside. This character creates many memorable scenes in this series. Dozle's performances on the battlefield include a scene where he salutes fallen warriors, a scene where he weeps over the image of his daughter, Mineva, as he compares the people he killed to his own, and a scene where he tearfully embraces the collapsed Garma during the Akatsuki Uprising. Dozle's performance alone could make a Top 10 list (lol).

8th Place: Casval's Vengeful Eyes

Char's Sharp Eyes

As you can see, the scene I chose for No. 8 is the one where Casval's eyes are filled with the terrifying gaze of a killer. Upon learning from a letter from Hamon that his mother, Astraea, had died, Casval (whose name was Edouard at the time) stood frozen in front of the gravestone, reading "Mother who loved Edouard and Sayla," with the eyes of an avenger. Perhaps from this moment on, Char's quest for revenge accelerated.

No. 7: The Scene Where He Fights Back with a Shovel to Save Lalah

Char Fights with a Shovel

No. 7 is the scene where he confronts the man who came to take Lalah with a shovel! The enemy, a top-tier assassin wielding a mysterious, ring-shaped blade, decapitates the man who once employed him and attempts to kidnap Lalah. At that moment, Char fights desperately to get Lalah back using a shovel that fits his hand. Lalah's strength helps him dodge the attack and somehow manages to repel the enemy, demonstrating his prowess in hand-to-hand combat.

6th Place: The Scene with Sayla and Édouard Riding Horses

Two People Riding Horses

This scene, my personal favorite, is my pick for 6th place! This scene features Édouard (Char) riding a fine horse and Sayla riding a slightly foolish, small one. It's one of the few light-hearted, everyday scenes amidst the intense plot of revenge and intrigue. The real Char then appears, teaching Sayla how to ride a horse and high-fiving Édouard, creating a series of pleasantly relaxing scenes.

No. 5: The Scene Where Char Says Goodbye to Sayla

Char Says Goodbye

No. 5 is the scene where Char leaves Sayla to seek revenge. At this point, Astraia had just passed away, and his beloved cat Lucifer had also passed away. As Char leaves, saying, "Goodbye, Artesia," the scene in which Casval calls him by his pre-adoption name, "Don't go, Casval," is heartbreaking but a must-see.

4th Place: Casval's First Battle in the Guntank

Char Fighting in the Guntank

Our fourth-place pick is the scene in which Casval and his companions fight in the Guntank to defect to Earth. Casval and his friends were traveling in a Guntank with Hamon's guidance, but their path was blocked by several Guntanks. Hamon made up his mind to attack the enemy, but just before he could, Char piloted the Guntank himself, declared the enemy, and began his attack. This was Casval's first battle.

3rd Place: The Farewell Scene with Astraea, Imprisoned in the Tower

Astraea Imprisoned in the Tower

I chose this scene for third place because it's so sad it's likely to bring tears to your eyes. Astraea is imprisoned in a tower by Deikun's legal wife. She asks to stay with the two of them for one night before they part ways, and the three of them arrive at the tower. When Artesia refuses to part ways, Astraea promises her she'll come see him after the moon has turned 100 times, a promise she knows she won't be able to keep. Even Casval, as expected, looks sad at this moment.

Second Place: The Scene Where Sayla Takes Up a Weapon in Battle

Sayla Holding a Gun

The scene where Sayla fights a mob with a gun drawn and tears streaming down her face is my second choice. Sayla is often associated with working as a nurse or helping others, but she also acts as a command center, ordering everyone to fight against a mob that has become violent due to unreasonable violence. The look in Char's eyes at this point is similar to the one she had when he was broken, reminding us that the two are indeed brother and sister.

No. 1: The scene that gave birth to Char's famous line, "It's red. What a beautiful color."

Char illuminated in red

This scene, which also ranked first in our famous line rankings, is also the one we chose for No. 1! I wondered whether it was appropriate to rank both scenes as number one, but this one is still so memorable that it's hard to leave it out. After the "Dawn Rebellion" ends, Casval drinks water and feels the wind blowing on him, saying, "It's red. What a beautiful color." The ending of episode 3 plays, and this whole sequence is incredibly cool.

Casval fighting the enemy

So, what do you think of the rankings so far? The story itself is quite deep, and I'm sure the best scenes will vary depending on the viewer, but here's my ranking. By the way, the scene where he fights with the armored man while protecting Sayla was also hard to miss... (lol) Which scene is your number one best scene?
