Ichihara Yuna is naive when it comes to love, saying her "first love was a prince from a picture book," while Yamamoto Akari is proactive in romance and skilled at "romantic bargaining." This bittersweet yet astringent coming-of-age love comedy, "I Want to Love You, I Want to Love You, I Want to Love You," is centered around these two heroines, Akari's stepbrother Rio Yamamoto, and Yuna's childhood friend Kazuomi Inui. In this article, we'll take a closer look at one of the two heroines, Akari Yamamoto!

Profile of Heroine Akari Yamamoto

Akari Yamamoto is a first-year high school student. Born on August 17th, she is a Leo with blood type O. Her favorite colors are red and black... Akari's straightforward personality is typical of her. With her short black hair, lively personality, and stunning figure, Akari stands out in class. And her personality and looks make her popular!

As she aspires to become an interpreter in the future, her favorite subject is English! She even ranks first in her class. Her favorite movie is "500 Days of Summer," the DVD Akari gives to Kazuomi Inui in the story!

Akari's mother is a beautiful woman with many romantic relationships... As a result, Akari has changed her last name and transferred schools every time her mother divorced or married. She's so concerned about her mother that she can't express herself, and she puts her own needs on the back burner.

In other words, Akari and one of the main characters, Rio Yamamoto, live under the same roof as siblings, but they are stepchildren of remarried parents. Furthermore, Akari and Rio were originally classmates in junior high, but when they went from being "classmates" to "siblings" during their time at school, they faced a lot of teasing from those around them.

Akari and Rio's past.

Of course, Akari and Rio spent their time together as normal classmates, unaware that their parents were dating with the intention of getting married. In fact, Akari was the one Rio had fallen in love with.

One rainy day, Rio left a message on Akari's answering machine to confess his feelings. Upon hearing the message, Akari realized that Rio was going to confess his feelings to her, and with excitement, she headed to the location where Rio had called her. However, on the way there, Akari encountered her mother and Rio's father, and learned that Rio and she were going to become "siblings."

Akari then dropped her phone into a puddle, breaking it, and pretended not to have heard Rio's message. Akari pretended the whole thing never happened, and Rio also suppressed his own feelings...

She's proactive in love and enjoys the game of romance!

Akari is also proactive when it comes to love. I love the tactics of love and the conversations that explore each other's feelings. Akari tells Yuna that when she finds someone she's willing to fall in love with, she'll "prepare to fall in love."

Yuna Ichihara, the other heroine who is shy when it comes to love, wonders, "Is that really love?" This must have come as a shock to Yuna, who has a completely opposite view of love to Akari's.

She also has an ex-boyfriend from middle school and an older brother she admires.

Akari, who is not only proactive in love but also beautiful, naturally had a boyfriend since middle school. However, due to her parents' circumstances, she moved to the town where Yuna lives, and they separated. They eventually broke up early in the story, but the reason for their breakup was Akari's "inability to say important things."

Also, in middle school, she had a crush on a friend's older brother. However, Akari herself seemed unsure whether this was love or admiration... Influenced by Yuna's pure and positive nature, Akari goes to see her friend's older brother to confirm her feelings for him, and realizes that her "admiration" for him is actually an escape from reality.

Akari's life changes after meeting her best friend, Yuna...

Yuna has a completely opposite view of love to Akari. Even though it was Yuna's first love, even after being rejected by Rio, she remained positive and tried her best, actively talking to him. As a result, Rio becomes attracted to Yuna's inner strength.

Akari has watched Yuna change from up close, and realizes that she is weak because she "cannot confess unless she is sure the other person likes her." Influenced by Yuna, she begins to refuse to conceal her feelings, even when her love may end up being unrequited.

True love without bargaining! Meeting Inui Kazuomi

In the story, Akari finally falls in love with Inui Kazuomi, a man who is beyond the pale of love bargaining. Kazuomi is a completely honest man who speaks his mind. So, while Akari's "flirtatious words and actions" meant nothing to Kazuomi, she was led around by his mercy in a good way. Before she knew it, she was constantly thinking about Kazuomi.

Confession at the Summer Festival? Kazuomi's Answer...

Akari decides to go to the summer festival with Kazuomi, Yuna, Rio, and Rio's friend, Wagatsuma. When Akari and Kazuomi are alone, seeing Kazuomi's embarrassment, she begins to wonder if he likes her. She confesses her feelings without saying anything, saying, "Why don't we go out? Because Inui-kun likes me, don't you?"

However, Kazuomi rejects her, saying, "I'm sorry. I don't like Yamamoto-san or anything." In fact, Kazuomi actually liked Akari at the time, but he knew Rio liked Akari, so he didn't say yes...

They try to forget each other, but Kazuomi kisses her!

Though Kazuomi actually likes Akari, he rejected her confession for Rio's sake. Meanwhile, Akari is trying to forget Kazuomi, who rejected her. However, Akari and Kazuomi end up in the same group for the school festival, and they can't help but get involved. Furthermore, Akari, wanting to convey that she's okay now, over-emphasizes her ability to move on quickly, which backfires...

In reality, they hadn't forgotten each other, but Kazuomi is disgusted and irritated by Akari's insistence that she's moved on so quickly. Then, Akari receives a call from her ex-boyfriend. Realizing this, Kazuomi is unable to think straight and kisses Akari, telling her to "forget what just happened."

All misunderstandings are cleared up, and Akari and Kazuomi grow closer.

Akari's ex-boyfriend, Ryosuke, also appears and begins to make a strong appeal to get back together with Akari. Ryosuke points out Akari's tendency to "say important things later, rather than at the right time," and urges Kazuomi to do the same. While Ryosuke himself doesn't intend to do so, he ends up enduring a push for the two of them... Furthermore, during the school festival, Kazuomi hears from Rio that he now likes Yuna, and with nothing in between, the two quickly become closer!

After many misunderstandings, Akari's love finally comes to fruition!

Even though Ryosuke tries his best to approach her, Akari refuses to give in, which reaffirms her feelings for Kazuomi. Even though he rejected her, she still decides to tell him that she still loves him. Then, after Akari politely rejects Ryosuke's confession, Kazuomi sends her a LINE message saying, "I have something to talk to you about." It truly is fate!

When Akari and Kazuomi arrive at their secret spot, the observation deck, Kazuomi tells her that he finally got to talk about his dreams for the future, something he hadn't been able to tell his parents for a long time. Later, Kazuomi finally confesses his feelings to Akari, even though she had already decided to tell him! Finally, Akari finally tells Kazuomi, "I've always loved you, even after you dumped me!"

But Akari is heading to America...

After a series of misunderstandings, Akari and Kazuomi finally start dating. Meanwhile, Akari's father (actually Rio's father) is transferred to America. Despite her dream of becoming an interpreter, Akari refuses to go because she doesn't want to be separated from Kazuomi. Upon learning this, Kazuomi persuades Akari to go to America.

After much deliberation, Akari decides to go to America, not wanting to disappoint Kazuomi. The two end up in a long-distance relationship, but upon graduating from high school, Kazuomi goes to college in the States! Akari and Kazuomi are reunited in America!

Summary of Yamamoto Akari

We've thoroughly introduced Yamamoto Akari, one of the two heroines with polar opposite views on love. What did you think? At first, due to her family background, Akari was "a person who couldn't say what she wanted to say and prioritized others." However, after meeting Yuna and falling in love with Kazuomi, she gradually changes!

Akari, who is perfect in appearance and popular with men, becomes even more charming, and we hope you'll enjoy watching her! I can't wait for the movie adaptation of "I Want to Eat Your Pancreas," which focuses on Akari, who experiences true love for the first time.
