"Love Live! Superstar!!" depicts the activities of a school idol group called "Liella!". The first season aired in July 2021, and the second season is scheduled for July 2022, garnering much attention. New characters have been confirmed for the second season, and anticipation is building for what they'll be like. This time, we'd like to introduce these new characters, along with their voice actors!
Introduction: What's the Story?
The first batch of new students has enrolled at the newly established Yuigaoka Private Girls' High School. At Yuigaoka High School, which is divided into a general education department and a music department, five students, led by protagonist Kanon Shibuya, decide to form a school idol group with the theme of "A Story We All Make Come True" to realize their dreams and pursue their aspirations. Next, I'd like to introduce the new characters and their voice actors!
New Character ①: Kinako Sakurakoji
The first new character is Kinako Sakurakoji. She enrolled at Yuigaoka Girls' High School from Hokkaido. She speaks with a distinctive "-ssu" ending and is a character with a unique element that has never been seen before. Among the new members, she is likely to be a character similar to the protagonist Kanon Shibuya. Although she's not good at studying or sports, she seems to have a special talent for understanding animal feelings, and we may see her demonstrate this skill in a scene in the series.
Voice Actor: Nozomi Suzuhara
Kinako Sakurakoji is voiced by Nozomi Suzuhara. She shared her joy on Twitter about her appearance in Love Live!. Suzuhara tweeted an illustration of her character, Kinako, on her account. The illustration, which is incredibly skillful and adorable, has garnered a huge response.
New Character ②: Mei Yonejo
The second new character is Mei Yonejo. She has distinctive red hair and a boyish way of speaking, but she also has a very shy side and seems to think she's not cut out to be a school idol. I can't wait to see how she ends up becoming a school idol!

In an age where we get information about celebrities from social media, there's much mystery surrounding Okuma's lack of an account. While the reason for her absence from Twitter is unknown, some agencies may impose restrictions on social media use, and some even hold social media training sessions beforehand.
New Character ④: Natsumi Onizuka
The fourth new character is Natsumi Onizuka. She's known for her ladylike way of speaking, often using "desuno" ("I'm not sure what that means"), and her favorite food is smoothies. She's active as an ElTuber, which likely refers to a YouTube-like video streamer. How will her background as a video streamer affect School Idol?
Voice Actor: Aya Emori
Natsumi Onizuka's voice actress is Aya Emori. She originally worked as an idol and was active in the entertainment industry before becoming a voice actress. She actively tweets about her cooking, outings, and other recent happenings on Twitter, where she has over 30,000 followers.
