"Love Live! Superstar!!" depicts the activities of a school idol group called Liella!, a group of high school girls who perform idol activities at school. The first season aired in July 2021, and the second season is scheduled to air in July 2022, garnering much attention. In addition to the idols' singing and performances, the individual personalities of each character are also highlights of the series. Today, we'd like to introduce the unique members of Liella!!
Introduction: What's the Story?
The first batch of freshmen has enrolled at the newly established Yuigaoka Private Girls' High School. At Yuigaoka High School, which is divided into a general education department and a music department, five students, led by protagonist Shibuya Kanon, decide to form a school idol group with the theme of "A Story We All Make Come True" to realize their dreams and achieve their aspirations.
Shibuya Kanon
This is the protagonist of this work. She is a high school girl who loves to sing and is the central character of Liella!. She actually wanted to be in the music department and took the exam, but she failed the singing practical exam due to the pressure, failed, and ended up in the general education department. This caused her to harbor a deep complex, and even after enrolling, she regretted not being able to get into the music department and became listless. Later, a classmate from China named Tang Keke asks her if she wants to join the school idol group. Kanon's singing voice is incredibly talented, and Keke fell in love with her voice after accidentally hearing it in the street. At first, Kanon wasn't keen on becoming a school idol, but she gradually began to embrace her love of singing and embark on the path to becoming a school idol.
Tang Keke
Shibuya Kanon's classmate and an international student from China. She came to Japan to become a school idol, and when she happened to see Kanon singing in the street, she was so impressed by her singing ability that she almost forced her way into idol activities. When Kanon told her she was going to give up on her love of singing because she failed the music department, she appealed to her, saying, "Is there really an end to working hard at what you love!?" After many twists and turns, the two ended up forming a unit. She can be said to be an important figure who inspired Kanon to start being a school idol.
Arashi Chisato
Shibuya Kanon's childhood friend, Chisato, is a member of the music department and has a distinctive hairstyle with two buns. She's good at dancing and works part-time at a takoyaki shop. She's a very caring person, worrying about Kanon after she failed the music department, and accompanying her in training when she heard that Kanon and KaKa were forming an idol unit. When asked to join the school idol group, she initially declined. However, she gradually realized that she really wanted to be a school idol, and began working with Kanon and the others.
Heianna Sumire
A classmate of Kanon and KaKa, she has distinctive long blonde hair. Her family owns a shrine, and she sometimes helps out at the shrine in the guise of a shrine maiden. Due to her career as a child actress and her pride in her professional experience, she initially looked down on school idols as "amateurs." Perhaps because of this, KaKa, a school idol devotee, often insults her and dislikes her. However, after being persuaded by Kanon and the others, she changes her mind and begins school idol activities with them, aiming to become the center.
Hazuki Ren
A music student at Yuigaoka Girls' High School, she later becomes the student council president. She has negative views on school idols, which often leads to conflicts with Kanon and KaKa. Ren's mother was also a school idol in the past, but no records of her idol activities could be found, leading Ren to wonder if her mother regretted being a school idol. However, this was a misunderstanding, and upon learning her mother's feelings, Ren decided to become a school idol with Kanon and the others.
Member Introduction Summary
Liella! is made up entirely of first-year students, making it a different idol group from previous series. The friendship and bonds that only classmates can have are a highlight of the story.
