Introduction: What is the Story?
The first batch of new students has enrolled at the newly established Yuigaoka Private Girls' High School. At Yuigaoka High School, which is divided into a general education department and a music department, five students, led by protagonist Shibuya Kanon, decide to form a school idol group with the theme of "A Story We All Make Come True" to realize their dreams and achieve their aspirations.
Synopsis 1: Kanon and KaKu's Meeting and Formation of a Unit
Shibuya Kanon takes the entrance exam for the music department at Yuigaoka Girls' High School, but her weakness under pressure means she fails to sing well and fails. She continues to dwell on this experience even after moving on to the general education department, but Tang KeKu, who fell in love with Kanon's singing voice, enthusiastically approaches her about becoming a school idol. At first, Kanon refused, but gradually became attracted to KaKa's passion, and the two formed a unit to perform at a local music event. Among the contestants was Sunny Passion, a school idol group KaKa respects. While they didn't win, they did receive a special prize and made a name for themselves.
Synopsis 2: Sumire Heianna Joins
Kanon's classmate, Sumire Heianna, tells Kanon and her friends that she wants to become a school idol. In fact, Sumire had a background in show business as a child actress, and she was overconfident that being a school idol, which was practically amateur, would be a breeze compared to that world. However, Sumire lost the election to decide the center, and dissatisfied, she withdrew from idol activities. Learning that Sumire hadn't fully achieved her goals as a child actress, Kanon, respecting Sumire's pride as a scout, recruited her and successfully secured her admission.
Synopsis 3: Bonds with Childhood Friends
Invited by the two members of Sunny Passion, a school idol group Kanon respects, Kanon and her friends are to perform at a music event on their hometown's remote island. However, Chisato seems to have some lingering thoughts, and she decides to go her own way rather than accompany Kanon and her friends. While Kanon and the others enjoy sightseeing on their trip, Chisato practices hard for the dance competition. If she doesn't do well at the competition, she plans to drop out and hone her dancing skills overseas. Kanon helped Chisato so much when she was little, and she had a strong desire to achieve results on her own. When she saw Kanon running to the venue just before the dance competition, Chisato was reminded of Kanon's feelings for her. After winning the dance competition, Chisato rescinds her plan to drop out and transfers to the general education department, the same department as Kanon and the others.
Synopsis 4: Hazuki Koi's Feelings
Hazuki Koi, a member of the music department, remains as opposed to school idols as ever. After becoming student council president, she declares that the school festival will be primarily focused on the music department, earning her the ire of the general education students. Kanon and her friends follow Koi after school and learn that her mother has passed away and that she must work hard in her mother's place. Koi had assumed that her mother was opposed to idol activities because there was no record of her having been a school idol. However, Kanon and her friends' investigation reveals that this was a misunderstanding. Learning her mother's true feelings, Koi breaks down in tears and, at Kanon and her friends' invitation, joins the school idol group.
Synopsis ⑤ Sumire's First Center Role
With the group name decided and preparations underway for the Love Live! preliminaries underway, the question of who should be the center arose. The group was required to incorporate rap into their songs, and while each member performed a rap, Sumire, who displayed her talent, was chosen to take the center role. KaKa was initially opposed to Sumire taking the center role due to her past comments that mocked school idols. However, after being persuaded by Kanon and the others, and witnessing Sumire's hard work behind the scenes, she was inspired and made a costume for Sumire. However, just as Sumire's enthusiasm was finally building, she overhears negative comments about herself and, due to past trauma from always being forced to play supporting roles, tries to decline the center position. However, KaKa begs her to let her take the center position in order to fulfill her dream, and Sumire decides to take the stage as center.
Synopsis ⑥ Kanon's First Solo Performance
As preparations begin for a song performance at Kanon and Chisato's alma mater, they learn that the next Love Live theme is a solo performance. Knowing Kanon's trauma of being unable to sing alone due to pressure, Chisato consults with the other members and proposes having Kanon sing alone at an elementary school in preparation for the performance. KaKa objects, calling it a cruel idea, but Chisato insists that if Kanon can sing alone, she'll be the best in the galaxy, not just the world, and the other members agree. On the day of the performance, Kanon completely puts past trauma behind her and delivers a stunning solo performance, earning her congratulations from the other members.
Synopsis 7: The Tokyo Tournament Finals
As excitement builds for the Love Live! Tokyo Tournament Finals, Kanon is troubled by her own self-doubt. She began to think, "If I can sing now, isn't that enough?" Kanon honestly confessed her feelings to Sunny Passion, who had come to the finals, and was told, "You'll understand if you sing at Love Live!" And then, finally, the big day arrived. Liella! gave a fantastic performance, but unfortunately lost to Sunny Passion. However, Kanon felt a stronger desire to win than ever before. The other members agreed, and she vowed to make even greater strides toward the next stage.
