Shoto Todoroki is one of the main characters in "My Hero Academia." His hero name (tentative) is Short. He is a classmate of the protagonist, Izuku Midoriya, and also one of his rivals. Like Yaoyorozu Momo, she was accepted into U.A. High School on a scholarship recommendation. She has heterochromatic eyes, with one gray eye and one light green right. Her hair is asymmetrical, with gray on the right and red on the left. She inherited both her parents' quirks and appearance! She's also incredibly intelligent and beautiful, possessing excellent judgment, mobility, and adaptability. She's a fascinating character with a life full of ups and downs!

Born to be a hero...

Her father is the flaming hero "Endeavor," known for solving the most cases. Her mother possesses a powerful "ice" quirk, and they were born as a "Quirk Marriage." Her father was always the No. 2 hero, but he could never surpass the No. 1 hero, All Might. Todoroki Shoto, born with the strongest quirk, wanted to pass on his ambition to his child. From a young age, my playfulness and indulgence were restricted. I endured violence from my father as part of my training. My mother was once doused in boiling water due to her mental illness. The burns on my face are from that time. I blamed my father for everything, including my beloved mother's illness, and have spent my entire life hating both my father and my left-handed Quirk. It's ironic that the Quirk everyone admires is the one I hate...

What is the strongest Quirk?!

Born from such a tragic fate, Todoroki's Quirk is "Half Refreshing, Half Burning." It's the ultimate Quirk, freezing with one hand and burning with the other. However, Todoroki's Quirk is always "Ice." Todoroki's goal is to completely negate his father, whom he hates, by becoming the number one hero and never using his Quirk. This is a goal he will never compromise on. However, this changes during his fight with Deku at the U.A. Sports Festival, but I'll explain that in more detail later!

An incredible Quirk...or not?!

It's no exaggeration to say that Todoroki's Quirk is the strongest in both power and variety. Perhaps due to his years of experience using cooling, he can instantly freeze buildings and stop multiple villains in their tracks. Also, during the USJ Raid arc, when freezing the Nomu, he adjusted the freezing power to allow All Might, who was held captive by the Nomu, to escape more easily. However, using the freezing power for an extended period of time or with too much force reduces his body temperature and power, slowing his movements. Therefore, it's not suitable for long-term battles at the moment. However, if he can train his Half-Burning Quirk and become better at regulating his body temperature, he'll truly be the strongest. He really is blessed with a Quirk!

Todoroki's Coolest Quotes, Selected by My Hero Academia Otaku

Now, here are some of his best quotes that will help us understand Todoroki even better!

Part 1: "I can be a hero too!"

This is a line from the battle with Izuku at the U.A. High School Sports Festival. Todoroki declares war on Izuku, saying he'll beat Izuku and take first place without using the half-burning power he inherited from his father. Izuku also engages in combat, refusing to lose to Todoroki, who's only using half his power. At such moments, Todoroki remembers the All Might show he watched as a child. "Quirks are inherited from your parents. But what's really important isn't that connection, it's your own flesh and blood. Recognizing that it's you. That's one of the reasons I say this. I've come!" Before he knew it, he had forgotten. To the person he had simply and simply longed to be. His mother had said it in a gentle voice. "You won't be bound by your bloodline. You can be whoever you want to be." In that moment, the suppressed desire to "use all your strength to become the strongest, coolest hero of all" must have overflowed. He produced fire and spoke the lines above! I was thrilled. In fact, I might have cried. Using two powers is Todoroki's Quirk, not his parents'! The part about "me too" particularly hit home.

Part 2: "Watch me carefully!"

These words were spoken to Tenya Iida during the battle with the hero-killer Stain, who was so consumed by the desire to avenge his brother that he had forgotten what it meant to be and what he wanted to do. Iida values discipline and aspires to be a hero like his cool older brother, but this time he was fighting Stain for his own selfish reasons. He was so blind to his surroundings that he told Deku and Todoroki, who were trying to help him, that it was none of their business. Nothing comes from hatred. He should have faced Stain in the right way. I'm sure Todoroki's own experiences led to these words. Aim to be the honest person you want to be. It seems simple, but it's difficult.

Number 3: "What's important isn't what you did, but what kind of person you're speaking to. I believe words are always accompanied by actions."

During a summer forest camp, Izuku was feeling unsure of what to say to Izumi Kota about his dislike of quirk society. Todoroki, who noticed something strange about Izuku, spoke these words when he offered advice. It's a fairly casual moment, but it's true that no matter what Izuku said at the time, Kota's wounds wouldn't heal, and it might have been none of his business. Izuku's growth as a hero moves Kota, but I thought these words could also be applied to the real world. They're profound!

Have you ever heard Todoroki's voice before?

The handsome voice of Todoroki is provided by the highly popular voice actor Yukitaka Kaji! Have you heard him before? His most notable works include playing the lead role of Jaeger in Attack on Titan and Miriodas in The Seven Deadly Sins. He's also capable of playing a wide range of roles, from cool to humorous and cute! And like Todoroki, he's a handsome guy. Be sure to check out his voice!

So, what did you think? We've explained Shoto Todoroki from "My Hero Academia"!
He's simply so cool! It's no wonder he has so many female fans. As Izuku said, there would be no problem if he was in the "protagonist" position in the comics. It might have been interesting if such a flawless Todoroki was the protagonist, but would that be bad for Izuku? (lol) "My Hero Academia" is set to get even more exciting from now on. Perhaps it's because of his painful past that he can become a hero who can do his best to help people in trouble. I'm looking forward to future developments!
