"I've Been Killing Slimes for 300 Years and Maxed Out My Level" is set to be made into an anime in spring 2021, but the original work was a light novel that was later adapted into a comic. The original author is Kisetsu Morita, and the series has spawned many spin-off works, with various characters playing leading roles. So, instead of this work, we'll be introducing the spin-offs and other works that Kisetsu Morita has been involved in!
After 1500 Years as a Low-Level Official, I Was Promoted to Minister by the Demon King's Power
"1500 Years as a Low-Level Official" is a spin-off work that, like the main series, has been serialized on Gangan ONLINE. The manga is completed in three volumes and is no longer being serialized. However, you can preview completed works by clicking the "Completed Works" button on Gangan ONLINE, and you can preview the first two chapters of "1500 Years as a Low-Level Official."
A Story Featuring Beelzebub as Minister of Agriculture
This story takes place even before "300 Years Since I Killed the Slime," with Beelzebub as the protagonist and still working as a low-ranking official. In the main story, Beelzebub is portrayed as a capable and caring greater demon. However, the spinoff expands on his time as a low-ranking official, showing how he is suddenly promoted to Minister of Agriculture after Pekora becomes the Demon King, and how he earns the trust of his subordinates. The spinoff depicts hardships unimaginable for Beelzebub in the main story, and reading it will completely change your impression of him.
Elf's Meal
This is the second spinoff series starring Harukara. While it hasn't been adapted into a manga, you can read all six chapters of the spinoff on Gangan Online. This is a gourmet story about Harukara enjoying meals in various locations. You can learn about Harukara's past, including stories from his time as president of Harukara Pharmaceuticals in Elf Village and an episode featuring his clumsy family. At the end of each episode, Harukara writes down the details and prices of the dishes he ate, as well as his thoughts on them. His thoughts are surprisingly thorough, unlike the usual clumsy Harukara.
Red Dragon Girls' Academy
The third spinoff is a story starring Laika. Like "Elf's Meal," you can read the entire spinoff novel on Gangan Online. In the main story, she has a submissive and gentle demeanor toward Azusa, but if you recall, when she first appeared, she had a more aggressive personality, even challenging Azusa to a fight. This work is set during Laika's school days (around 80-100 years ago), long before she met Azusa, so unlike the main story, the protagonist is a warlike and militant Laika from start to finish. After entering a girls' academy, Laika's ultimate goal is to surpass her older sister, Leila, who is considered the strongest at Red Dragon Girls' Academy! This is the start of Laika's life at the academy as she strives to become the strongest. A comic adaptation is also planned for "Manga UP!", so that is also something to look forward to.
There is a serious decline in young people's interest in black magic, but once you get a job, the pay is good, and both the company president and familiar are cute—it's the best!
This popular series, based on the original work by Kisetsu Morita, the author of "300 Years of Killing Slimes," has been adapted into a manga series up to volume 6. Franz, whose lack of communication skills has led to 30 straight failed attempts at his job hunt, is in dire straits, graduating in just one month and becoming unemployed... At that time, he was recommended a career in black magic. In this world, the black magic industry is known as the 3K - gross, dirty, and dangerous - and is shunned by young people. Franz initially refuses, but reluctantly goes for an interview to avoid unemployment. However, the president who comes to pick Franz up is a little girl with ears and a tail. The salary is twice that of white magic, he works eight hours a day with two days off a week, and the company offers luxurious dormitories...Franz decides to take a job at an ultra-white company that is far from the rumored slogan of the NEW 3K - "beautiful, comfortable, and economical." What's more, he spends his time there in a harem-like state with beautiful women, including the succubus Cellia he summons, and it's a "black-painted" story that's a little...no, quite erotic. You can read the first and latest chapters on Gangan ONLINE, so if you're interested, be sure to check it out!
Since the mysterious job of Oda Nobunaga is even more cheating than a magic swordsman, I decided to create a kingdom.
So far, I've only introduced works featuring lots of cute girls, so I'd like to introduce a slightly more unusual work by the same author. Although it still features a large cast of beautiful girls... this work tells the story of Alsrod, who builds a kingdom with the spirit of Oda Nobunaga, a warlord active during the Sengoku period. In this world, when people reach adulthood, God assigns them a profession that suits their aptitude, such as "sage," "priest," or "warrior," and Alsrod trains to become the highest level of "magic swordsman." However, the profession given to Alsrod is the mysterious "Oda Nobunaga"... However, Alsrod realizes that this incomprehensible profession is actually a cheat ability, and decides to create a kingdom. As the story progresses, people with the profession of "Akechi Mitsuhide" also appear, and this is a work that will intrigue you not only about the battles in this world, but also about the relationships between the feuds of the Sengoku period and other events.
Summary of Spin-offs and Other Works by the Author
So far, we've introduced spin-offs and related works from "300 Years of Slime Killing." Since these spin-offs allow readers to learn about each character's past, they're especially recommended for those who have read the original! Personally, with the number of anime adaptations steadily increasing from Gangan Online, I'm hoping that "Young People's Turning Away from Black Magic" will eventually be adapted into an anime. Were there any works that caught your eye?
